What I do not understand is why the gazans thought launching 6,000+ rockets into israel was a good idea? Did they think that israel would not react eventually? Feelings, emotions or instincts can make people irrational. When people feel desperate can react with violence. Violence should never be justified but we must try to understand the reasons. On the other hand, violence can also be rational. For example, Israeli occupation and violence (from the very beginning) seems the result of a well designed, very rational plan which has nothing to do with fear but with domination.
