@Hyland0r It's in G minor. LOL um because you have two flats in it. Bb and Eb. And perfect pitch is telling me G minor is the homebase chord. LOL just telling you so the guy that wants to use this in his band can transcribe it correctly

the strings portion doesn't sound real enough. i think there needs a be a slight reverb with the strings to give you that big orchestra string section sound

@KevinAZheng Making it sound real was never my intention since this was made in school with Hypersonic 2, and that software, sounds very robotic/surreal. Also this was some of my first ever creations ;)

you know, with all the great internet composers I've seen, they never tell anyone what program they use. If they reply to a comment with that question in it, they just sort of avoid the question and talk about other stuff. Is it like a trade secret or something?

@lordofpowies I always tell if someone ask. For this old stuff I used the programs I had in school, Cubase 4 and Hypersonic 2. The new stuff I use is Cubase 5, EWQL, TruePianos, EWQL Ra. ;)

@lordofpowies I felt that way too.. until i started composing :) It's like showing the art in a magic trick or seeing the props behind the stage in a play. Just enjoy the music.

If you are really determined to make great music yourself then you will find the best program. They are not that different.

hmm...need some variation on the arrangement. I must say I got bored from the middle. You can always use woodwinds to do tricks to decorate the main body, like John Williams always does. And don't forget piano and harp, too. sometimes we barely hear them but they do exist in these kind of pieces

@PivotPrestige First off, thank You very much :) I'm glad you like my work, and I'm still a beginner, just doing what my heart tells me to. My song Welcome to Deadwood is however very much inspired from Pawel Blaszczak music in the games "Call of Juarez". Wonderful native american/cowboy music :D I mostly play and compose sad or relaxing piano music and ambient. My dream would be to make music for documentaries or games :) But I'm quite harsh on myself, and commetns like yours really help me :)

I find that if there is always at least one bass note playing, such as a low chord with the string section, the music sounds more full and complete. Check out my channel, I'm 14 and I hope to become a movie score composer one day.

Hey. Hylander. I got here through the link on facebook. It's a very nice work. Pretty cool use of the strings. I dont know if it is me, but I believe the theme that starts at 0:20 might sound a little bit better with a shorter attack time, or perhaps you might slide each note back a few ticks. Beyond that, it seems to me you've got a few years composing. have you ?. The style, regarding the harmonies, even not as complex, reminded me a little bit of Age of Empire. Great job, man.

Well if this was played by a real orchestra i could imagine it being a score for some movie :) so you should try it if you like it! at the moment i'm doing techno and house music with propellorheads reason 4, but the orchestral sounds a not half as good as these... so its no fun. i didnt try to do epic music till now, but i want to.

i have some experience with classic instruments due to bein in youth orchestra for some years now so dont think im totally new ^^ would sound utopic though.
