Human is the smartest animal on the planet, and still the dumbest. Human kind is going to annihilate itself for a feeling that is created in only his mind. Animals kill to survive. Humans kill for fun. Or for pointless stuff like oil or a piece of land.
this is one of the most touching videos I've ever seen. To see just a little bit of the bad things that had happened in the last 20 years is awful. The human race is definitely self-destructive :(
Well,...this is all just a video game isn't it? At least this is what them dumb ass kids think when playing Modern Warfare. I hear them talking all the time,"Ya, I'm gonna go to Afgan. and be a sniper for real it will be so cool, or maybe a gunner." They have no concept of real war and the horrors. I ask them some times how they feel about taking another life, someone with kids just protecting his home, they say oh ya I could do it,.. I say BULLSHIT! They will be to busy pissing their pants.
@Illuminati10101 Right on brother. Vietnam 71-73. Video games are fun. Real war is insanity delivered every day. If it's so much fun, Why do I do my best to forget it, every day since.
if this video didn't make anyone cry then I don't know how to save them. This was a very sad video showing the horrors of the human race. We evolved from being animals into monsters. This Video fits really well with the tragic song, the clips are very desterbing but that's what we turn our blind eyes from when ever there's a war.. those that don't have to deal with it are so lucky but there will always be suffering and pain we just need to open our eyes
@Leebsterftw Nevertheless, this was when war was waged properly. Children, women, and animals were spared. Only soldiers were killed, more or less. Unlike today, where women and children are almost exclusively the aim of religious assaults, and counter-attacks are done against nations, rather than men. But yes, the horrors of the human race is sickening, and unfortunately it only gets worse.
@Vincere85 I only know of the Cold war being the one where no civilians got hurt (from what I've heard). I don't know what wars you are thinking of but even the ancient wars of Rome, China and the Celts had women and children slaughtered.
thank you for the video mix. It does tell the story way too well. It's what people in the dark need to see, and realize their worst nightmares are reality for way too many people and for no good reason too
@MVtifa15 I'd have to track down the interview, but a fair bit of the material for Brutal Planet was inspired by news stories that popped up on CNN. This is a song that can be used to describe war in general, but it was written specifically about the war in slaughter that happend in Bosnia.
0:28 - They wage war, they kill each other, bodies fill up the street - but they don't harm the puppy. Despite the sadness war makes anyone feel, at least there's hope for a little puppy.
this is one of my most favorite songs by alice cooper...we saw him on tour a few years ago and right before he did this song he did schools out...i was young,he had us stand and sing the chorus...he looked over at me and did a double take.he handed me his stage cane...that was one of my more memorable concerts...my first as well
Very moving video. I cant' belive this stuff was kicking off less than a year after I was on holiday in Split, . It's so close to (my) home than I can't believe it was allowed to happen. p,s,Alice rocks,
I saw Alice perform this in 2000 in Boston on the Brutal Planet tour. My friends and I were in the front row...my friend snatched a bone off the stage which Alice autographed for him at a later tour date.
I saw AC in an interview where he said that the watching cable news like CNN of the carnage broadcast was the inspiration for this song. He said he saw an old man with a pillow case picking up his relatives bones so he could have something to bury.
It was an interview on one of the major cable 24 news stations in around 2000 when Brutal Planet was released. If you search Alice Cooper/Brutal Planet it also show up in a printed interview.
Orwell said it right... "the only reason to make a war is to be in a better position to wage another war." Without war governments are for the most part useless so it benefits those in power to keep us at each other's throats. This is why racism is impossible to end. Oil, wealth, women... whatever the reasons they say to mobilize the nation to kill, it's simply a matter of incompetancy to rule at home, so it becomes a distraction.
How about the two I just named? How about that war in Columbia that between the Government and the FARC, ELN and the AUC? So obvoiusly you lost your "bet". It's always about Power or money. No further comments from me on the subject because personnally I don't care why we fight wars. I just want to be on the winning side.
I love how people are willing to blame religion almost exclusively for all wars. Funny thing how war has always been about power, and religion is used as a tool to instigate the masses. I'm sure the first cave man that wanted another cave man's food or mate and killed him for it was reacting to religious ideology. Admit it or deny it, but humankind is bloody, vicious and manipulative by nature. How do you think a soft creature without fangs or claws took dominion over this tiny little world?
you might add, and your opinion is welcome. Besides isn't it Buddhists or Taoists that when they have a problem burn themselves publicly? Not sure, but a certain reverence for life and the natural balance is mentally healthy. Self-barbecue isn't that effective either, but it is interesting what can occur when frustrations mount.
@fillosof66689 - You would be sorely mistaken to not consider human beings as a predatory creature. We have consumed more species than any other predator this world has known. Our mental acuity is our equivalent to fang and claw, we have only managed to put a thin veil of separation between us and nature. We are omnivorous, and not scavengers, that makes us predatory by definition.
@jessiemax Perhaps the reason the bible is full of tales of killing is that all our known histories regardless of region or religion are full of tales of killing, and glory to the victors. On top of an innate predatory nature, we are highly social as a species, and in that social order is a desire to lie, cheat, and steal to make ourselves higher in that social order. Are you making the supposition that a peaceful nation once attacked will not defend?
@angellicrequiem yes and isnt religion a major form of power to control and manipulate people as well?As long as we dont believe in the same invisible God and share the same bullshit beliefs we are licensed to go about killing and damning anyone who goes against the grain.A good example of the is the Westboro Baptist Church
@satanacuntfest Here's another example of control and manipulation: Government; especially if your disagreement is viewed as 'unpatriotic'. Or wait, there's Insurance too, historically an organization to protect people, but if you didn't pay the right company they would burn your house down... Religion is used pretty consistently as well. My point is its a HUMAN problem, the unifying force is simply a matter of perceived authority.
@angellicrequiem You are so right. And it has happened all the way up through history. Think about the crusades, the war in Vietnam and right now the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. All of those wars are because of the religion and ideology of others and because "The Man" wants to conquer new land and destroy what he think is "wrong". I am against any war anywhere in the world whatever the reason is.
@angellicrequiem This reminds me of a short parable (can't remember its source):
There are two villages, one who is very aggressive. The aggressive village decides to attack the other. If the other village decides to fight back, aggression has spread, and the aggressor has won. If the village decides not to fight back, they will be slaughtered, aggression has spread, and the aggressors have won. If they decide to ally with them, aggression has spread, and the aggressors have won.
@angellicrequiem i disagree just because its easy to dismiss it as human nature cos that suggests that people cant help it but obviously they can and its all bout state of mind and environment and upbringing. I mean how else would buddhists monks have come into existence
@angellicrequiem Every war in history can be traced back to dogma, or irrationality of one kind or another. The big three are Nationalism, Religion and Racism.
@creative11019 Nationalism, Religion and Racism are merely fronts for the REAL economic objectives. Nationalism, religion and racism are used to get the masses to go along with the goals.
what do mean like Iraq? they weren't lawless before, alright there government was totalitarian, but it was not anarchic like your suggesting. not saying you where saying that but it seemed to be suggested
Thats the thing i dont like about religon and that stuff, if you dont believe the "right" religon your wrong, i dont get it, religon is what causes war and we are supposed to worship someone whos about peace and love and etc.
You wonder why the youth is "confused" because the worlds many religons critisize those who dont fallow there religon so it leaves them to question whats right, if religon wasnt so forceful the world would be more peaceful.
and have you noticed how there is always that little thing that says it's ok to kill people when thier religion thinks they need to remove some "infidels" or "unbelivers"?
it's all just one big mess.
you're not allowed to kill anyone, unless the religion finds it convenient.
Yes i realize that and thats what causes war, also-when these people send missionarys to countrys like africa and etc they teach tehm what they think is right and tell them there religon is wrong, maybe six months later what happens? that tribe trys converting another tribe, tribe number 2 doesnt like it so butcher the other tribe, so in a way you can say church is the root of all evil(not god or the devil, but yes church)
Actually, I don't think it says anywhere in the Christian religion that it's ever ok to kill. But, a lot of Christians tend to disagree with me on that, as long as the killing is done with good intentions (wtf?). "You have to break a few (hundred-thousand) eggs to make an omelet, I guess. On the other hand, I've heard that the Muslim texts actually do tell people to kill non-believers. I don't know if that's true or not though.
You obviously have'nt read much of the bible then.
Visit evilbible (dot) c,om or google "bible atrocities" and visit one of the links/sites that catalogue all the horrors alledgedgly commited by, commanded by, and condoned by the judeo-christian sky-tyrant. thank goodness he does'nt actually exist!
Try to remember that almost every nation, regardless of religion, has gone to war to protect the interests of the whoever represented the state. People who focus on religion as the cause of war will be bewildered when it's gone and war's continue.
Religion plays a role in every war. And is the root cause of most of the most serious wars in history. War would remain if revealed religion/faith/theism dissapeared, but they would seriously lessen and lessen in intensity. Nothing can cause ordinarily moral, reasonable upstanding people to commit the worst atrocities like religion and faith, especially if of the theistic variety.
You mean besides the Romans, Genghis Kahn, the Huns, the Chinese revolutions, Korean War, Vietnam, WWI, WWII, and several other imperial expansion wars?
Those too were either directly inspired religious faith or religious faith of one sorts or another played significant roles in them- in the very least in making the people dumb and docile enough to go along with committing atrorcities.
Take WW2 for example, as you mentioned. This was brought on largely due to Hitlers regime, Hitler was a theist and his people believed him the messiah{even had "god with us"} on the SS belts.
In Roman wars, Roman emperors were often see as god-men,etc.
Religion is related to Cooper now. Read the lyrics to his last several albums, especially "last temptation", "dragontown" and "brutal planet". These albums are fairly religiously oriented. Dragontown is downright prejudgemental/arrogant and preachy in parts and some songs{read for ex: "disgraceland"- Alice presuming Elvis is burning in eternal hell, and dooing it pretty coldly}. Alive talks alot about his born again christina faith alot since the mid-90's toO
...It's Alices fault that religion and christianity are now talked about in regards him so much these days. He's the one that became religious, inserted arrogant and preachy religious shit in his lyrics, and acts preachy{not too mention arrogant and hypocritical} even in interviews.
Alice is a religious prick now. He still makes some good music and shit, but fact is...debating religion when it comes to Alice Cooper is now vlaid and par for the course.
ww1 and 2 were generally about genetic clensing, wiping out the weaker races.
to be honest i h8 religious ppl, ur arrogant and dont think for urself. u gotta face the facts its all lota bull, religion is standing in the way of a better world
Religion played a major part in WWII, however, it was not made aware to the allied forces that the holocaust was occurring, until they discovered abandoned camps. It was kept a secret from the world. It was known, however, that the powers in charge had a strict ethnic cleansing ideology. WWII was originally about an empire attempting to sweep Europe. The holocaust was an afterthought. Consider the fact that we had our own internment camps here for the Japanese, and to a lesser extent, Italians.
actually hitler used some christian themes to justitfy the holocaust, like saying that the jews killed jesus, but this doesn't make christianity the reason for the holocaust, but you are correct in saying that it played a part in WWII
Christianity was used to rally nations, the war was caused by invasions and breach of conditions of the first world war. It's part was as a gathering tool to unite nations to one cause, Hitler's holocaust was from a pre-existing hatred of the wealthy jewish families in Austria, and his conception that they had somehow harmed his family by having more.
Great vid man perfect song for it. So much death for no good reason but concerning death is there ever a good reason unless you are saving lives through your death?
I liked the video very much, I think it is in line with the song. But I cant say anything about the political statement, I don't speak Swedish or Norsk, or danish (sorry, don't even know which one)
They're images from the Srebrenica Massacre. This was the largest mass murder in Europe since WWII. 8,000 men and boys were killed by a rogue paramilitary (guerrilla) unit from Serbia called the 'Scorpions' and Army of Republika Srpska under the control of General Ratko Mladić during the Bosnian War. This wasn't "war" in the sense that it was one army of a sovreign nation against another. This was genocide against the defenseless. This was ethnic cleansing. Combat stopped things like this.
the only world peace is possible is if we all kill eachother...there will always be some lunatic with "ideas" and "new ways of thinking" ready to brianwash armies of people who don't know any better.
GReat job on ur video this really shows what war does and how horrible things are in it this video and song go together very well if u have the guts to make a video like thisabout the wars and all the effects u have my respaect!!
I'm guessing these images aren't about war. They're about genocide--a true justification for war. This looks like it was taken from the conflicts in the Balkans. That was genocide/ethnic cleansing. It took people willing to go to war to stop it.
Alice Cooper je Srbin! =)

powerful video, i don't care what your religion or anything is, losing someone is hard and isn't right
randomperson10101 3 years ago 3
sorry but i find it hard to accept a religion where most of its members blow everyone up for not beliving.
AililMacRoth 3 years ago
Most don't. That's like saying most Christians blow up abortion clinics.
SFMonster 3 years ago
fair enough.
but i'm not christian anyway.
i know you didnt say i was,i was just saying is all.
AililMacRoth 3 years ago
Thats the thing i dont like about religon and that stuff, if you dont believe the "right" religon your wrong, i dont get it, religon is what causes war and we are supposed to worship someone whos about peace and love and etc.
You wonder why the youth is "confused" because the worlds many religons critisize those who dont fallow there religon so it leaves them to question whats right, if religon wasnt so forceful the world would be more peaceful.
theforeighn 3 years ago
very,very well said.
and have you noticed how there is always that little thing that says it's ok to kill people when thier religion thinks they need to remove some "infidels" or "unbelivers"?
it's all just one big mess.
you're not allowed to kill anyone, unless the religion finds it convenient.
sorry for my naff spelling.
AililMacRoth 3 years ago
Yes i realize that and thats what causes war, also-when these people send missionarys to countrys like africa and etc they teach tehm what they think is right and tell them there religon is wrong, maybe six months later what happens? that tribe trys converting another tribe, tribe number 2 doesnt like it so butcher the other tribe, so in a way you can say church is the root of all evil(not god or the devil, but yes church)
theforeighn 3 years ago 2
Actually, I don't think it says anywhere in the Christian religion that it's ever ok to kill. But, a lot of Christians tend to disagree with me on that, as long as the killing is done with good intentions (wtf?). "You have to break a few (hundred-thousand) eggs to make an omelet, I guess. On the other hand, I've heard that the Muslim texts actually do tell people to kill non-believers. I don't know if that's true or not though.
ektrules 3 years ago
You obviously have'nt read much of the bible then.
Visit evilbible (dot) c,om or google "bible atrocities" and visit one of the links/sites that catalogue all the horrors alledgedgly commited by, commanded by, and condoned by the judeo-christian sky-tyrant. thank goodness he does'nt actually exist!

Try to remember that almost every nation, regardless of religion, has gone to war to protect the interests of the whoever represented the state. People who focus on religion as the cause of war will be bewildered when it's gone and war's continue.
nvsven 3 years ago
Religion plays a role in every war. And is the root cause of most of the most serious wars in history. War would remain if revealed religion/faith/theism dissapeared, but they would seriously lessen and lessen in intensity. Nothing can cause ordinarily moral, reasonable upstanding people to commit the worst atrocities like religion and faith, especially if of the theistic variety.
Iconoclastithon 3 years ago
You mean besides the Romans, Genghis Kahn, the Huns, the Chinese revolutions, Korean War, Vietnam, WWI, WWII, and several other imperial expansion wars?
nvsven 3 years ago
Those too were either directly inspired religious faith or religious faith of one sorts or another played significant roles in them- in the very least in making the people dumb and docile enough to go along with committing atrorcities.
Take WW2 for example, as you mentioned. This was brought on largely due to Hitlers regime, Hitler was a theist and his people believed him the messiah{even had "god with us"} on the SS belts.
In Roman wars, Roman emperors were often see as god-men,etc.

Will YOU ALL SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE FUCKING MUSIC YOU FREAKS COME ON ON HERE AND DEBATING RELIGION AHAHAH ALICE COOPER SAYS FUCK YOU PICK UP THE BONES
connor123210 2 years ago 3
Why should we shut up?
Religion is related to Cooper now. Read the lyrics to his last several albums, especially "last temptation", "dragontown" and "brutal planet". These albums are fairly religiously oriented. Dragontown is downright prejudgemental/arrogant and preachy in parts and some songs{read for ex: "disgraceland"- Alice presuming Elvis is burning in eternal hell, and dooing it pretty coldly}. Alive talks alot about his born again christina faith alot since the mid-90's toO
CONT...
Iconoclastithon 2 years ago
...CONT;
...It's Alices fault that religion and christianity are now talked about in regards him so much these days.

WWI had nothing to do with genetic cleansing and neither had anything to do with religion.
strider594 2 years ago
ur right about WWI but WWII had everything to do with religion...the Holocaust....
ADAMcCoy 2 years ago
Religion played a major part in WWII, however, it was not made aware to the allied forces that the holocaust was occurring, until they discovered abandoned camps. It was kept a secret from the world. It was known, however, that the powers in charge had a strict ethnic cleansing ideology. WWII was originally about an empire attempting to sweep Europe. The holocaust was an afterthought. Consider the fact that we had our own internment camps here for the Japanese, and to a lesser extent, Italians.
Cars2Bots 2 years ago
actually hitler used some christian themes to justitfy the holocaust, like saying that the jews killed jesus, but this doesn't make christianity the reason for the holocaust, but you are correct in saying that it played a part in WWII
Beamoxc 2 years ago
Christianity was used to rally nations, the war was caused by invasions and breach of conditions of the first world war. It's part was as a gathering tool to unite nations to one cause, Hitler's holocaust was from a pre-existing hatred of the wealthy jewish families in Austria, and his conception that they had somehow harmed his family by having more.

GReat job on ur video this really shows what war does and how horrible things are in it this video and song go together very well if u have the guts to make a video like thisabout the wars and all the effects u have my respaect!!
hellion869 4 years ago
I'm guessing these images aren't about war. They're about genocide--a true justification for war. This looks like it was taken from the conflicts in the Balkans. That was genocide/ethnic cleansing. It took people willing to go to war to stop it.

I had to hold my breath!
I was in europe when the war started in jugoslavia.I have seen the news there and is wasn't pretty. It was about 12-13 years ago!
It was a documentary from the netherlands you used.
Your vid shows the cruelty of war. But this was only the tip of the iceberg.
Alice's "Pick up the Bones" is the right song for this vid and I think you did a hell-of-a- job putting the video collage together.
You had the guts to do it, my respect to you!
