I like it there were gun fighters in my family history very fast draws but like my grandfather said its not always how fast you are but how well you aim:) and shoot to hit your mark
Darrah and Marty had a riding accident and she has been at John C Lincoln North Mountain Hospital in Phoenix since 5/08/08 with a broken ankle, 2 cracked ribs and 2 breaks in her pelvis....I am sure she would appreciate any help, support or words of encouragemnt!
First of all another well produced video of Darrah, and on the same tolken the people in this video have such love, understanding of their horses and needs. Vegas touches ones heart.
At times like this it is vital to know that Vegas is and will always be remembered by their loved ones, also by me and others who view this video/documentary (awesome) We are all connected by compassion love for these breed of horses and any horse. fabulous work Darrah, you rock. AZoey
Thank you. Working with Darrah on this was a real challenge for me, as there real is no country boy in me, that being said, it turned into 1 of my favorite edits. Darrah's youtube site is horisrah or you can just click her link in her comment here. You can check out her narrative western. (I played no part in it as it was the year before I started at Zaki)
Hey Brett can you tell me what happened to cause Vegas to become paralized, was it an accident or infection of some type?I tried twice to listen to tape but either they didnt say or i missed it.Thxs and great job!!
If i remember correctly Vegas got a viral skin infection, or some sort of skin disease. I'll try to find out from Darrah exactly what it was and post it.
heres what it was,,,She had the neurological form of the EHV/rhino virus, which caused the paralysis and just when we thought we were winning the battle, she developed chronic laminitis. The same thing that eventually led to Barbaro (the race horse) being put down after a year long battle to save him with his broken leg. Jana
Believe it or not, Annie was able to train her horse so that her horse would not get spooked everytime she discharged her guns. Over time, she learned to train her horse.
what style of hat is she wearing?

I do believe it because that is what Darrah (the producer/director) had also told me. Thanks for the input MarcR2006.

Do they make air plugs for horses?
phillipah7 4 years ago
Yes they do have ear plugs for the horses, but I'm not sure how many use em & I know Annie's horse does not.
