Mae West owned a 1936 Duesenberg NOT a 1934. Also her's was black with chauffeur area in front and complete enclosure for her in the rear seat separated by a window.
Actually she ordered a 1935 Duesenberg designed as you state but it took too long to produce so she bought the 1934 J370. Ethel V Mars ended up with the car you are speaking of. If you read "Becoming Mae West" her autobiography she clearly states her purchase of this car. Look at page 318 of this book.
@BabyJaneHudson She did own a black 1934 Cadillac V-12 open front limo for 4 years, replacing it with a 1938 V-16. The '34 still exists in original condition. Her black chauffeur was one of her lovers. You can Google for pictures.

Fantastic car.
But how are the women getting into the backseats?
Climb?

@einherje71 There is a steel step on the passenger side of the car to step on to get into the rumble seat. It doesn't show from this view of the car.
