I've had geese in you younger years. They are very devoted birds and can be very protective. I knew from his "HonK" that he was Mario and not Maria! LOL Also, many geese mate for life and though one partner dies, they often will remain widowed. Canada Geese are notorious for this. I too think it's sill that they have her in a cage at the zoo. I wonder what the long term plan is? I'm sure there could have been a more natural alternative!! I hope it all works out!! :-)
