the play at 0:58, the defender had a wide open sack in front of him and ponder got away cleanly and picked up the first down. kids got some wheels. we could definitely use some of that playmaking in the 2nd half our games!
History suggest that it doesn't really matter if you start a quarterback right away or not, if they are truely good they will eventually have great success regardless. Aikman & Manning turned out just as good as Steve Young & Aaron Rogers. Some people blame starting too early on a bad team as destroying David Carr's career, David Carr not being any good (and not getting rid of the football) destroyed David Carr's career.
Idiots! You guys know nothing about football! There's a reason y the vikings have ponder on the bench and mcnabb starting! They want him to learn the game from the bench! That's how most elite qbs do well..

In as a rookie and he fails miserably (and have the pressure on him
To succeed), he'll fail to meet the expectations... Next year is his year.
I know McNabb is starting tomorrow, but unless he can take the Vikings 4-4, then I don't really care to see him play. Ponder needs as much practice as possible before a fresh start in 2012.
I can't believe how good Ponder is at turning the corner and running upfield. I watched all 4 preseason games, and he did a great job avoiding sacks playing behind a bad offensive line.

vikings o-line is weak and the fact that McNabb got sacked 3 times in a row didn't help his cause. Ponder is much more mobile.
