Weikath wanted to get Andi Deris into Helloween, so he blamed Kiske for the band's change of musical direction and the bad sales of Pink Bubbles Go Ape and Chameleon and fired him. Later on Weikath fired both Roland Grapow and Uli Kusch for similar reasons, but that's another story.

However, it is now that Helloween's greatness seems to be more visible as "Power Metal" became "official" genre and seeing many bands who doesn't fit into Heavy Metal or Thrash/Death Metal(like Helloween didn't during 80's) and plays good artistic musics. We can take a look at bands like Stratovarius, Hammerfall, Angra and Dragonforce(whom I hate), it is undeniable that Helloween was the one originated this sounds and feels.

Helloween is lot greater than people gave them credit for. During the 80's, band like Helloween was rare because were bit too heavy for Heavy Metal and yet they weren't Thrash Metal. Their theme and colors weren't as sinister as your typical metal bands and it that aspect, Helloween was truly unique band who not only didn't fit into mainstream norm nor in metal norm. But their popularity wasn't as big as bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest to Metallica and Megadeth.
