Im amazed at how nicely done the interior is. I mean I knew they were much better on the 09's, but the interior materials and fit are perilously close to an E63/M5. And in terms of design IMO it wins hands down.

I was gonna give the caddy cts-v one more shot at impressing me. The revving was coming up, and I was like "Okay caddy, let me hear ya scream!".......nothing. This car sounds terrible and too damn quiet. Maybe if you stomped on the gas when revving, it might sound better, but I dunno. Good review as always though.

@NewbeFeaster Most new cars today (at least ones that are upper level trim) are automatic, and when you need them, you are able to shift through gears manually + or -. The CTSV has paddle shifters on each side of the steering wheel. I drove one of these before so I know what the auto is like. Never driven the manual though...

@NewbeFeaster Paddle shift is just about like shifting your auto while driving... it can give you an edge if you're a driving enthusiast.. I enjoyed using it on a Mercedes in the curves and it saves on all the unnecessary computer confusing shifts, it gives you more control and predictability

These things are a blast to drive, but the Bose soundsystem has to go. The sound quality on the Cabin 5.1 System was muddy and unclear to me. The Lexicon 7.1 system in my dad's Hyundai Genesis 4.6 is 1,000 times better than the junk in this car. BOSE = Buy Other Stereo Equipment.

Plus, this is a $70,000 car - could you at least give me a locking gas tank?

Nice car, but these drawbacks + its EPA 12/18 are bad enough to shift my attention to other (less powerful) sports sedans on the market.

@ 5:00 that knocking sound is the supercharger. Eaton or what ever designed it with loose fitting rotors for some reason. I dont remeber excactly why. But It had something to do with supercharger life and performance.

Yea true it does cost alot more money though. About 30-40k more depending on options and its slower and I really don't think the W212 build quality is all that great compared to W211 and W210 models. Just a personal observation. I think they all look like scaled down S classes IMO. There is no real distinction anymore. They charge alot of money for optional leather and stuff like that, that was once standard. CTS-V comes with ALOT of quality and features standard. =)

@Forgoten214 a friend of mine has owned the previous gen. of the cts-v for over 3 years now, it is a 2004 model with the LS6 engine in it and he told me that he just cannot praise the car enough in many respects that goes, and compared to all the other cars he has owned before it was by far the best bargain he could think of, and he has owned primarily premium sport saloons from germany such as bmw m5, audi s6 etc. so i guess he knows that segment pretty well to cast judgment. greetings

Oh wow that seems unfortunate. Especially with BMW getting rid of their famed V10. Who knows what next for the F10 generation. Everyone is going forced induction these days. The V10 is what really set BMW apart from the rest.

That is nice to know that others out there share the same ideas as myself. Over here a M5 is about 90k-100k brand new before it was discontinued. The CTS-V is about 65k brand new. Not saying the M5 is bad I just prefer the CTS-V personally.

Don't believe all the hype. Mercedes and M5s are just like any other car. You pay more for them in the states because of the name and because they're imported.

The New F10 M5 I'd probably take over a CTS-V but think of it's price tag. Looking at over 90k. CTS-V is about 65k new.

Just goes back to a century old debate, who's better? Benz vs Cadillac, Euro vs American. I think the quality is better on the CTS-V personally including the design and layout and features.
