  • pedo bear has this at home

  • can i use this to write in french and finnish too?

  • I'm looking for that keyboard exactly. They only sell the Magic version now. Is there a place I can find this on, used even? Ebay doesn't have any and I'm getting a bit desperate (I don't NEED it but I'd like to own one).

  • im Using FrogPad Right Now And I Dont Play Games With It...

  • Imagine Playing Halo Using This Pad...

  • imagine playing games using this pad. one heck of a challenge lol

  • not bad .. pretty neat

  • this is perfect for porn addicts

  • looks hard to master, but once you get the hang of it i bet you'll look like a wizard to all your friends.

  • Camera chat here we come

  • I LOVE MY QWERTY KEYBOARD

  • and bleh, why did they had to halt manufacturing?

  • @RobloxVideoWatcher7 They ran out of FrogPads and hadn't the money to build a new batch of FrogPads. Because they don't develop or build it on their own, just have the keyboard layout and the idea behind it, it's pretty expensive to hire a company to design the PCB and build the whole keyboard together. So they have to order a few thousands and pay for it immediately, having sold none of them yet. And well, they just don't have that money lying around at the moment.

  • @FroggyTablet I read on their site that they recently got funding.

  • @RadeAzazer yeah it's a load of crap that's been on there for over a year now maybe 2 and you still can't buy it. Who evers invented it has real bad business and planning skills...

  • how and why did you have the german version?

  • @RobloxVideoWatcher7 There's only one version, the English one which I also use. Normally my keyboard layout in Windows is German. Because the FrogPad needs an English layout I had to select an English layout. Sadly with such an layout it's not possible to write some German characters like ä, ß, ..., so I selected the international English keyboard layout in Windows, with which all this becomes possible.

  • @DasMotteninsekt I type fast in German, too. But the FrogPad does not support foreign languages. I can type German umlaute, because I use the international keyboard layout, so I type a " and then the vocal, which results in a ä or ö, etc.

Playing games won't work with the current version, sadly.

  • I have one hand and was wondering about using one-handed keyboards. I was hoping that maybe someone out there has tried a few and could suggest a good one. I am not a bad typist with a regular keyboard but I find it difficult to look at the screen and type, so I would like a keyboard that is easy to use and can be learned, with practice, to be used without having to look at it. any suggestions would be appreciated. Feel free to PM me or respond here.

  • @robbin505 the easiest option is to use a different keyboard layout for existing full size QWERTY keyboards (like Dvorak one handed). Other options are rare, like this one or Matias one handed keyboard. But I don't know how good those alternatives are, I just know that their either their hardware (dvorak) or software (matias) aren't optimized as the FrogPad.

  • @FroggyTablet The problem I find is that everything is made for the left hand.

  • Gah! I wanna buy one but it's not available anywhere!

  • ugh. let's just make a keyboard with a compact QWERTY like on the phones.. with prediction XD... and you can choose to do ABC instead of XT9 by clicking on a button that lets you do the right-sided letter and a button to let you type the left-sided letter

  • i am currently typing with one hand using the dvorak left hand layout on an ordinary keyboard. it makes no sense to spend hundreds of dollar to buy a small toy just for one hand typing. you can change every windows pc for the left hand layout and the time invested in training on the keyboard is safe from bankrucptcy!

  • @boblamhk Hi, can you tell more about how you convert a keyboard to be used with one hand? I am interested in using the qwerty layout, but am willing to learn if it has to be a dvorak layout.

  • @boblamhk I have one hand and it is the right one, so some of us need "small toys" to be as fast and proficient as everyone else. This is a society where those with full ability marginalize the handicapped and call advancements that may level the playing field "toys"

  • pthensdjlzb'lk intresting device

  • So, I can type with my left hand and fap with the right one, success!

  • Do they make a right handed version?

  • 0:50 : Omg, the . comes earlier than you type! Btw, about the WHOLE internet (including wikipedia) says it's very hard to learn! You liar!!!

  • @jerrythedutchmapler The clip is put together from two recordings (Camcorder + Camtasia), because I'm not perfect there's a small shift of a few frames.

Internet: Some people who reviewed it and haven't really spent time with it, nor had the interest to learn a new layout, said to learn it is not as convenient as FrogPad inc. claims. No wonder.

Wiki: One single person added this questionable statement lately, but also note the words after this statement: [citation needed]

  • @jerrythedutchmapler just for you, I uploaded a diagram of my learning curve I made when I bought my first FrogPads. The link is in the video description.

  • @jerrythedutchmapler I love your stupid claim about the whole internet. It's wrong, that ONE PERSON on wikipedia was just THEIR OWN opinion.

I have tried this... it was pretty easy to use, took about the same amount of time to learn as learning to use a mobile phone number to write texts messages., i also tried OrbiTouch and DataHands, before going to a Simple Dvorak.

Stop trolling on this guys videos.

  • O.o

  • What's your Words per minute ratio on this keyboard?

How is that compared to the basic qwerty keyboard?

    I type for about 300-350 keystrokes a minute (about 60? 50? WPM).

I wonder how much slower would it be on this keyboard.

  • @krusaderkrusader3 what test do you use? Every test gives different results, so it's hard to compare the results of two different tests. However, I get up to 80WPM or more (just take a look at the others videos I've uploaded, one shows such a test with results)

  • @FroggyTablet

I was using some online typing speed on a polish website, don't remember the exact adress right now.

Nevertheless, I've seen the other video and your speed is very impressing.

    Regards

  • @FroggyTablet That's very impressive, I bet if I had used or anyone else this kind of thing our entire lives it would at least be a double of that. :)

  • @krusaderkrusader3 what if the person have one hand ?

  • Ok I get it. I was looking for the function key. It's green, and the alternate keys are green. The layout of the keys seems dd but what do I know. I hope it becomes available soon, I'm not into pre-ordering stuff. My main concern is the ability to do functions like cut and paste easily. Mainly what I do is cut and paste, and use the mouse, and be able to type fairly quickly, it would be great if I could type numeric while using a mouse, or type alpha while using the mouse.

  • doesn't this limit the speed in which you type more so than a QWERTY keyboard?

  • @PandaLove20 Sure, but it's more a matter about comfort and efficiency. Not only do I have much more free space on my desk, especially right in front of me to place notes and other stuff, but also don't I have to switch with my right hand from mouse to keyboard all the time. So at typical work using a FrogPad is less stressful, easier and faster (e.g. see my other video using Cadsoft eagle). But you're right, writing a long essay, there I switch to a wireless QWERTY keyboard, stored in a drawer.

  • OMG people still using "Hello World" to demonstrate and test output devices :P

  • pressing multiple keys just to type one symbol sounds unnecessary complicated, cool demo though

  • @MrDREtv You ask a difficult question :-) I'm also right handed and I bought the left-handed FrogPad first. To write with the left while using the mouse with the right. And I think this is the best scenario. Later however, I became even more lazy and wanted to do everything with the right hand only, too :-) However, that's luxury, in my opinion. Learning? I don't notice a difference. Most of the time I use the left handed FrogPad.

  • Can you use this with either hand or just left or right?

  • @fashionbug9880 the current FrogPads are available in two versions, one model for the left hand, one for the right. So for each hand you need a specific model. However, I hope, that in the future they will add both the left and right handed keyboard layout in a single FrogPad.

  • Is it worth 105$? Didn't think so

  • Maybe it'll be usefull for handicapped ones...

  • What program did you use to record the text to video? Did you just overlay that on top of the video and sync them?

  • I recorded the FrogPad and my fingers with a Sony HD cam and my computer screen with the text in notepad with Camtasia Studio. Then I imported both recorded videos in Sony Vegas and merged, synced and added the scrolling/crop effects there.

  • Learning to touch type on the FrogPad was much faster and easier for me, compared to the QWERTY layout:

You are right, I can only type with a single hand, but that was my purpose, and typing at >80WPM, with a single hand, is good in my opinion. I also don't think that it'll replace two handed keyboards, but it's a great addition for the normal use. A heavy typist still requires a two handed keyboard for speeds >100WPM.

  • @FroggyTablet I disagree with you. I have timed myself at 113 on my FrogPad. It has replaced the QWERTY keyboard for me.

  • herdpress WOW, that's insane, I'm jealous :-)

  • Put the image upside down, please.

  • I can't alter the video once uploaded. So you'll have to rotate it yourself if you want it upside down.

  • I know. Can't you upload a new video. Well, I guess I'm not the first to think "hey that's the point of view of the monitor, I prefer to see the point of view of the user".

    Isn't it obvious ?

  • if it was bluetooth it'd be a sure buy.

  • they also produce a white bluetooth FrogPad, I also own one, it was the first I've bought, but I haven't made a video with it yet. There are a few other videos about the FrogPad on YouTube which show this white BT FrogPad.

  • This is a Lefty FrogPad, a left handed frogpad.
