  • I think you people that make crude sexual coments towards this nice young women are a bunch od yahoos!

  • Maybe some people don't want to live. Death is a door and you go through it. We all are going to die at some time....

  • @mrd It is true that some people don't want to live, yet killing yourself slowly and painfully with a bad diet is dumb. I don't want to live a long life as of now: I am 31 and I kinda hate old people, lol, probably because most I see are overweight, senile & unsexy, BUT I eat well cuz I want to be happy and vibrant TODAY, tomorrow, THIS WEEK, this upcoming vacation that I want to travel, etc. It's about being vibrant and happy NOW. And ppl who neglect their health are not suicidal, but ignorant.

  • Why do you care about me so much? You want me to be healthy etc. I have to say that even though you are married you have a very admirable soul. I personally believe that if a person wants to get to who he or she really is they need to start thinking with their soul. There is always truth there. And ones body can reflect their soul. I'm dazed Natalie. Thanks for wanting all of those things for me. I weigh 175.8! And this is mostly from calorie restriction and healthy eating! :) Peace be upon you!

  • Thanks Natalie..Really love ur video..I can really feel ur passion on nutrition.

i was really curious that is it chillies is good for health or it would harm our body?..may u do explaination about it..!Thanks

  • natalie you are very beautiful and sexy and I like the way you think and that you have beautiful tits

  • @upno989 Wait till you see her ears lol.

  • i worked at hospital for years and i completely understand what she is talking about, life is whay u make it and it's so short and sweet. take care of yourself and get off of the sugar! u would be better off eating bacon, butter and cheese than drinking 1 soda! it's ur life though... do what u want haha! peace

  • you should wear lingerie next time.

  • im currently eating an apple and drinking my water! Thank you!!!

  • your breasts look so beautiful and firm.

  • @jnfk970 your an idoit

  • everybody says youve been banged

  • is anybody banging you?

  • bless you

  • your awesome!

  • I think she chose the right profession :D

  • This video really touched me. I agree with Peter when he says that most people don't make conscious changes because they are governed by the impulse to seek pleasure and avoid pain. I think it is not only important but imperative for young people, especially in this day and age, to become conscious of health and ultimately of living life more abundantly. Pleasure can be found in a healthy lifestlye more so than a Twinkie bar, but usually something dramatic has to happen to incur any change.

  • Hi Natalie! I noticed on your website that you are now an RD! Congrats! :) I am currently studying to become an RD also...I enjoy watching your videos and learning from them! Keep up the great work!

  • You know what is really sad? Most people are simply unable to change their life before something bad happens to them, and they are able to directly link it emotionally to their lifestyle. Thats important- EMOTIONALLY! That means they have to FEEL that they brought this upon themselves, and there must be a clear and unambiguous connection between the emotional pain and their choices. Knowing just isn't enough. cont.

  • My story is a good example. I've been a heavy drinker and smoker since the age of 17 (sic!). Here in Poland drinking age is 18, so getting booze is very easy, as most shopkeepers don't bother to check anyone for id. Anyway, by the time I was 19 I had my first DT. Thats delirium tremens, withdrawal from alcohol. Its like withdrawal from drugs, but its more likely to kill you, usually due to cardiac failure. Long story short, it was then when I even SAW what I was doing. Before, I had no idea. con

  • In two weeks time will be my second year without a single drink, or cigarrete. I was one lucky bastard to get this DT in a young age, as it enabled me to change my life before any permanent damage had been done. I know I'm not special in any way, just lucky. The point of this verbal diahrrea is to illustrate the tragic condition most people are. Humans are UNABLE to change without sufficient stimuli to back this change, either in the form of pain, or pleasure, and even then it's unlikely.

  • I'm no psychologist, so I can't tell for sure. But my theory does seem to explain why almost NOBODY is able to change ANYTHING about their lifestyle. I know literally hundreds of people, and maybe 1 or 2 of them were ever able to change. My belief is, "willpower" is bullshit. A myth, there is no such thing. People are governed by the urge to seek pleasure and avoid pain. Lasting change is only possible if their emotional responses to things change. If you read it this far, any thoughts? :P

  • Peter, I believe you're right. I'm wondering if it's possible for people people to use this principle in a new way: maybe we could anticipate (or artificially manufacture) the pain or pleasure necessary to make changes before real life hits.

    ??

    What do you think?

P.S. Congratulations on your sobriety, what a great achievement!

  • Thanks :D. I now drink occasionally, on concerts or parties once a month or two but it's not a problem anymore. And I know I'll NEVER smoke again. Anyway, It turns out there are some serious, succesfull people that had the same thought we both had, YEARS ago, and they built veritable bussiness EMPIRES on the same thing you wrote above. Check out Tony Robbins, all this guy teaches revolves around this principle. I just found him a few weeks ago. con

  • And man, it blew my mind! This dude teaches using the pain- pleasure principle since like what, the 70's?? Its just soo cool, it means we don't have to reinvent the wheel, it was all already discovered :D. Seriously, check it out- Anthony Robbins. Just don't get put off by the loads of hype, I think this guy really delivers. And if you don't wan't to pay for his programs, you can always torrent 'em, before buying.

  • Wow, I'd always thought of that guy as more of an infomercial/cult-leader type of figure. But you know, I'll be open-minded enough to just find out what he has to say. There are obviously people who have learned from him and find that his ideas work, right?

Too bad we couldn't have used this idea to become gazillionaires first!

    Cheers, Tara.

  • I agree with you 100% but the shocking thing that I find somewhat out of synch is the hospital I use to work at in Boston. One of the best hospitals in the country has a new cafeteria catered to Pizza Hut, McDonalds, and every fast food company in the industry. Oh they do have a salad bar but seriously the Director of the hospital needs to get his priorities straight and stop making a profit off of this, and promote health care like its suppose to or change their mission statement.

  • Thanks for your insight. I wish the US culture was more geared towards health and good lifestyle, but it seems to be going the opposite way. People need to try twice as hard just because they are really like swimming upstream against the tide of negative diet and lifestyle that are promoted. Videos like yours are one good start!

  • I think Natalie will be the new Dr. Judith Wurtman. I certainly hope so because she's so smart and has a dedication for humanity that surpasses anyone that I knew. Thank you again Natalie. I think its time to remind the two presidential candidates how very important nutrition is for our country and the world. It would certainly prevent billions of dollars in healthcare cost. Whomever wins the election I hope they put Natalie in charge with a multi billion dollar budget.

  • Wow,very good video.

Preventative measures.... that's how Japanese people seem to live to such old ages. And that was before they had great medical care like now.

  • What I've also figured out is that some people make certain bad choices in their life due to a traumatic experience, or the fact that they just don't care(in other words thinking that life wasn't worth living). That's why I never feel sorry for people who decide to abuse themselves in that manner. All I can do is pray for them, nothing more.

  • I am still in high school and I am 108 pounds and in 9th Grade, I have gained 25 lb. in a year I a still slightly underweight and I grew 7 inches in this one year period. Is their something wrong with rapid weight gain in my scenarios

  • Hi Natalie-

I have a close friend in my office that had to be hospitalized because her diabetes was so bad that her toes started rotting off. She has major bone infection and had to have 1 toe removed and half of her other foot amputated. I'm 23 and I don't want to end up like her in 20 years. I hope people take to heart what you are saying in this video.

  • Dear psychetruth...I have started exercising for 1/2 an hour three or four times a week. I weighed myself at the end of the week and I gained about five pounds...WTF?! It's so frustrating because I started this to lose weight...

  • Muscle weights more than fat.

As you build up muscle your weight might actually increase but the percentage of body fat will decrease. You should also feel better and have more energy.

The amount of muscle you have dictates your metabolism. This will help put your body into fat burning mode.

    Keep at it.

  • Muscle is denser not heavier

  • Seconded.

  • I need someone like Natalie who can follow me around and smack me in the head everytime I try to light up a smoke or any of my other bad habits.....

  • This is all 100% true!! Thank you so much for this video it helped motivate me to talk to some of my family members that don't share the same love of health/ nutrition that I do and tend not to make the best choices and have countless health problems. I had been worried about them lately but haven't had a chance to really tell them. I hope I've been able to help them Thanks!!

  • Thank you for this video! It was great as usual and very true! It is much appreciated. It is very important for people to take care of themselves and make good choices!

By the way, if my these comments sound a little odd the way they were presented it's because the first comment got erased for some reason and only the second comment was posted, so I wrote this. :) lol

  • Cigarettes are so horrible for you, and along with many other drugs, the government makes it legal and pulls in so much money from it! It would be so great if you made a video on how harmful cigarettes are!

  • so true...

  • This is great advice. I turn 40 in june and had the hell scared out of me in november. Not a sudden health scare necessarily, I took a look in the mirror. I was 217lbs. and I did'nt realize how slow I was living. Bottom line is I lost 50lbs. and now I feel new. I do have a question about protien, bars, shakes, and I've heard of synthetic. These are fast and easy, but are they healthy enough to eat regularly? I've become a regular viewer of your channel and Natalie is very informative. Thanks.

  • Whats the name of the song and the artist at the end of this video?

  • Search YouTube for "Jimmy Gelhaar".

  • Thanks, but that specific song, how can I find it?

  • i like to know as well.

  • I would love you to do a video on alcohol and how it affects the body from the slightest to the extreme.

  • Hi Natalie! I think its awesome that ur going to be an RD! I'm a Nutrition major and I also hope to be an RD one day...I find nutrition/dietietics fascinating and I love watching your videos, you've taught me some things that I didn't learn from my nutrition class, and I can't believe how much nutrition has improved my life in such a short period of time! :) Keep making wonderful videos!

  • Thank you Natalie ... I needed this.

  • working in a hospital did encourage me to lose weight and change my lifestyle habits. it seemed like everyone there was either a health nut or really unhealthy smoker

  • thanks Natalie. great vid.

  • i would probably be a health nut if i was in a hospital all the time like that im pretty healthy now but i know what u mean by seeing it all the time makes u want to not be in the situation...if i even have to go to the emergency room and i see the things happening to others im like oh man...i dont want that to happen to me and i try to prevent it but then im away from it once im better and out of the ER and the feeling of that eventually goes away and im back at Mcdonalds clogging my arteries

  • You rock as always Natalie!

  • I've been in care homes, when you see the old folks vegetating infront of the television, all I can say is: Dump the TV, eat natural, think and do.

  • The video suddenly stops playing at 01:45.

  • i didn't for me.. try it again maybe? :)

  • I worked as a hospital chaplain for three years I think about 85% of the issues were lifestyle related. This is sad but true and it causes me to look at my own lifestyle and habits.also when I was in the hospitals the interns weren't as cute...

  • I have really been inspired by your videos. I'm in my 20's and I've been taking better care of my health ever since I discovered you. Thank you Natalie! :)

  • another wonderful video--thanks so much.

  • Natalie is so much righ.....

We should take more care about our health.

  • I wish there were more people in the medical profession that were as passionate as Natalie.

Now there are plenty I realize, but I've ran into too many health providers whose motivations were misplaced & it showed in their quality of care.

Keep up the good work Natalie. You're definitely one of the good ones out there.

    Lean in, cyber hug: rrrrrrrrr

  • She decided not to have chemotherapy despite being advised to because she didn't see any benefit having done some research into it (not just Googling!), and instead has started eating extremely well, a lot of raw fruit & veg, and taking lots of supplements. For the past two years her blood results have been improving and her consultant even called her a "miracle patient" (yet still doesn't seem too interested in what she's actually doing)... So yeah. Just putting that out there.

  • this is deviating from the message your video is making, but seeing as you've talked about cancer and diet I thought I may as well comment. My mother was diagnosed with multiple myeloma three years ago (which as far as I'm aware no-one really knows what causes it), but luckily they caught it at a very early stage.

  • Many have commented about how wonderful Natalie is, not only in terms of her looks, her intention to help and her cheery, upbeat manner; what I also see is the unspoken but very palpable message that she brings to share with all who are touched by her spirit: kindness, sensitivity, good manners, caring about others, loving and trusting yourself is something we could all do well to catch from her and then pass it on to all the lives that we touch every day.

  • c16467, exactly what i was thinking as well.... :)

  • i wish the dieticians who worked at my hospital had as much passion as you.

  • Thankyou for sending out such a wonderful message. Once you spend enough time in a hospital ,especially in oncology and palliative wards, you really start to change your mind about how you should live your life.

  • I think youre right about the psychological effect of hospitals and how it can motivate people to change how they think or live. I always noticed though that a lot of nurses smoke, it seems almost like more than other professions. I always wondered how they can do it when there must be many smokers dying from smoking right in the hospital.

  • Wonderful video Natalie! Hey, quick question if you don't mind ... if you could only recommend one or two books on optimal health, which would they be? I'm tossing around the idea of purchasing Dr. Mercola's book titled "Take Control Of Your Health" but I suspect it's simply a compilation of what's already available on his website. Maybe not though ... hmmm?!?!? What to do, what to do?

  • i love the way you look! u seem to be a really genuine and caring person as well!!

  • thx for caring, i've heard of very young people getting very sick, and it is difficult to understand, keep up the great work, your videos have really got me thinking more,

  • you have such a great channel here! i love your video's and this video gets 5 stars as well.

    dale

  • great video! It is sad to see people succumb to terminal illnesses decades before their time

  • the more you know, the more you realize you could do more... and the more you see others not doing enough..

  • FIRST!! YES

  • If your going to be first, please take the time to five star the freaking video. :)

  • Be ye kind one to another, I rated it for him, OK?

  • freaking? *yawn*

  • @psychetruth That was three years ago, somehow i found my way back here. Here's a five star!
