Edwards is right. However, we have a rapidly aging population and they all want the health care system to help them LIVE FOREVER.
Living on Machines in institutions for years and years is expensive. Most of the health care cost is spent in the last ditch effort to squeeze out a year or two more of life.
When I met him several months ago, he said something very derisively to me when I greeted him. Then he flashed a broad smile at me as if he didn't say it. I was frightened by the JUVENILE manner and tone in which he said it. He said it as if he was the prom king and I was the biggest dork at the high school-- a fiftysomething man.... I second-guessed myself. I thought, "maybe I misinterpreted that."
Then I looked at a woman who was immediately to my right... She had the expression of the thought in my mind -- "who the F-CK IS THIS PERSON? Is this his TRUE nature?" There were only 5 or so people near him at the time, so I guess that he thought it was safe to release Mr. Hyde... Again, I thought, "Maybe I was wrong about that ... maybe I misinterpreted that tone."
However today when I was listening to a radio show someone recounted an incident with him during which he repeated the EXACT SAME BEHAVIOR. He said, "I lied. So what?" Then flashed a broad, phoney smile at him.
This guy is a fraud. When I watched an advance screening of There Will Be Blood yesterday, I thought Daniel Day Lewis' character was Edwards-- a seemingly saintly guy who is actually a rat bastard.
JOHN EDWARDS will be the next PRESIDENT of THE UNITED STATES
He worked his entire life working for justice - making corporations pay for hurting people. Yeah he became wealthy doing good - but then all the leading candidates running against him are also MILLIONAIRES - so being successful himself is not an issue. GO JOHN.
It's a very poor reflection on Ron Paul for one of his supporters to post such an immature, ridiculous, and filthy comment. Sometimes I wonder if these kinds of comments aren't from people posing as Ron Paul supporters to make Ron Paul supporters look bad.
They are all great, but John is just a little bit greater. And his presidency will benefit Hillary and Obama more than they now may realize. Frankly, I think they are pulling for John too.
Edwards has taken on huge interests and has won. Beating a simple Republican candidate will be a walk in the park. Seriously. He is the David; the kicking ass, of the Democratic Party, and, face it, of all Americans. And yes, even the top 1%...as they are safer when their economic inferiors are happy...and when their air is breathable.
So, tax policy is set by big corporations? Then who the hell are all the elected "law makers" and whose influence are they under? All our congressmen are corrupt if, as you say, the corporations are setting policy and not the people. Mr. Edwards, your rhetoric is just more lawyerly BS.
And then what? You have to trust someone but there is a reason there are checks and balances or at least should be ( they are not working very well to stop Bush ) but even so Edwards is the best choice by far. He is not perfect but he is the best this country has to offer. You do not offer a solution.
I haves seen John Edwards on numerous occasions, and he is always a very kind and warm person to people. Idiocracy's description sounds skewed.

Does anyone know whether or not Senator Edwards supports the National Initiative for Democracy?

Trust no one in government. They exist and live off the hard work and backs of every working American.
