  • Very nice playing indeed! As a struggling piano player I'm always very impressed with anyone who can play this piece.

  • nice playing, how bout an overhead birds-eye view of the keys next time.

  • nice one!

  • Isn't this wonderful,evocative music?Thanks for sharing!

  • @Squarerig no problem :) Im glad you liked the piece..boogie on!

    Eeco

  • You certainly don't hear many people try and copy that very first version on Paramount. The sheet music was the Victor version. I heard a few variations from the original version there.

  • @2agray ok and what do you think how I did it ? :)

    Eeco

  • @freakyhead20 You did great! That's not an easy piece to tackle. It wears out the left hand keeping it up to speed. You have the relaxed rhythm. More like playing by ear instead of classical trained and trying to read the sheet music. Not robotic. It's smooth. I remember I first learned it from the original 78 on a record player sitting on the piano bench. I picked it out. Later I got the sheet music and found I wasn't too far off the mark.

  • Heavens to Murgatroid! What a DYNAMITE version of my all time favorite boogie woogie number! Kudos, sir! THANKS for sharing your awesome talent with us! You've MADE my day & my weekend! Keep up the good work! :)

  • Best I've heard. Authentic. Married, just like me. I'm gonna have to DOO dat toon properly.

  • @vimana19 well thank u but im not married (yet) if thats what u mean lol

  • can i ask you how long have you been playing piano?

  • 17 years now..

    ~Eeco

  • 17 years?!

That's crazy, I've been playing for like about 2 years

  • Wow, your version is so much better than mine and I'm reading the music!

  • oh well everybody has his/her own style of playing..if you have the swing and its feels good..then there's music :D

  • Hi There! can you tell me where I can obtain a good edition of this tune in sheet music?

  • Very good but your left hand looks too high for the base sound like you are at middle C ? I still think its great

  • the song is in G

  • If you ever have time you should make av video from above, so I kan se what you are doing :)

Havnt found this anywhere ells from above.. really like this one and would like to play it my self...

  • Really nice!

Although I'm hearing Major chords they would sound better as 7th chords. Try it!

  • Oh I can, but here I just like to stick to the originally piece, makes me wonder why I want to invent a timemachine ,go back in time and play with the good 'old boys :) but thanks

  • i am a pian player myself...and i must say you play good :) ...i can't seem to find the piano sheet will you please send it to me?it would make me very happy cause i'm a big fan of meade "lux" :)

  • sorry I learned this piece and most of the others by ear..cant help you although I wish I could..good luck with searching! :) Bye Eeco

  • You re fucking good! Where did you learn all this great boogie-woogie from? You made me wanna play these things too. No more classical!

  • Just great. Sounds like a train which is what Meade Lux had in mind. Some versions are too fancy.

  • Im glad you like this version..enjoy the rest..boogie on!! :D

  • Very good!

  • Eeco, you are really generous imparting so much info so readily. Yor Boogie is a joy to listen to (and damn hard to emulate...but then I'm aged 72).

    Richard.

  • Richard, thank you so much for your kind words, I hope my music will spread joy to this world where there are not enough people who make music and appreciate eachother :)

  • Quite authentic. Excellent!

  • it's wonderful!

  • complimenti

  • graziee :D

  • ottimo

  • It's not the original, but it's very beautyful!

  • Damn fine effort! If you want to hear what I reckon is the definitive version, check out the (rare) album 'The Blues: A Real Summit Meeting', and check out Lloyd Glenn's version!

  • I like the sound of the piano. Please wath my version from Honky Tonk Train in my profile.

  • I used to drive my dad crazy, stripping the old upright down... to me, that's how this music should sound, slightly out of tune and played with enthusiasm.

  • Anytime buddy, anytime :)

  • Eeco, you're worse than a haunted house because it's truely fritghtening as to how good that you play :), Albert, Meade Lux, Jimmy, Pete, and many others are lookin down on you and sayng, "Man, look at that kid go, he can really play", it is eveident that they are smiling when you play, because it comes through in your music :), but you still manage to keep your own original touch to whatever you play also :), and that is a gift in itself :)

  • Thanks man for that comment..I just woke up and I needed that! lol thanks :D

  • I had the great honour to see Eeco live an be a part of his latest CD recordings, so guess what: I have seen the future of Boogie Woogie!!

  • The perfect responce to freak195. Eeco is giving us all a GIFT from his talent. 'Never look a gift horse in the mouth.'

  • Hi Eeco

Once again a superb rendition of a boogie woogie classic Can you play any of Jimmy Yancey's material?

Finally I have to say that I find the comment from freak195 extaordinary! Having performed on a number of festivals with Axel Z. I can assure you that you 'play like a professional (whatever the hell that's supposed to mean) - indeed I believe that Axel would be delighted with your obvious command of the genre - Please keep up the good work it's positively inspiring!

  • Yeah Man!

  • Notice the left hand is a train rythum that people liked. Lux thanks you and so do all of us.

  • Great playing Eeco. WHAT LEFT HAND ARE YOU PLAYING,?

  • Sounds like mine: D,G,B (2x) D,A,C

    Great version, Eeco!

  • it's like 2x: D+G+B 2x:D+F#+A+C etc..then for C I use : C+E+G and C+F+A etc..back to G part and then the last chords are: D+F#+A+C and D+F#+A+D..etc..I like this left hand its easy going and it has got a continously tempo :)

  • thanks a million for the tips on voicing!! tks tks tks

  • no problem man, like to help others as well :) swing it!! :D

  • Great Eeco - another gem!(If you could raise your camera about 10 inches we could see both of your hands. - Just a suggestion)

  • Very nicely done Eeco :), just as good as the original itself, if not better :)

Thank you for another great piece of playing :), top rating always :)

  • Suggesting it may be better than the original sounds a bit too euphoric. I would say not bad for an amateur player but still miles away from - let's say - Zwingenberger's version.

  • It's not a case of it being Euphoris or otherwise at all, it's down to individual tastes in music :)

     Willie

  • I was not trying to immitate Alex Z. I was trying to play the way I DO IT..and I love to play boogie woogie, that's it! :D

  • It's get difficult for me at 1:03 :D great stuff! Tom
