the thing for me that other managers miss about babel is his use as a tactical tool. you cannot have just one man marking babel and if you do he may punish you. so what would you do? bring a winger back meaning the opposition will have weaker attack, bring a dm across? affording gerrard more space. bring a cb across? leaving torres 1 on 1. i just think this is something our managers have always missed, even when he's not on top of his game he causes problem for opposition defences and managers

torres and babel, for whatever reason, are very poor in this regard -- ngog, for a skinnier striker, is becoming quite good at hold up play (which, unfortunately, is critical under Hodgson's tactics)

in truth i cant understand why liverpool need another striker cos babel is very good and with the support of joe cole and gerrard im sure he will do a great job so i think ngog and babel should fight it out for the backup of torres when hes injured plus if we sign wright phillips it would be a great backup for kuyt. The Netherlands has always been a great school of fast, skillful wingers, such as Overmars, Zenden, Arjen Robben (best player in these days, in my opinion),the young talents Eljero Elia, Babel, and i'm surely forgeting many. The problem about Babel, is his shooting skill. It's awfull. But if playing in the creative sector, he can be a main in most clubs today.

ryan babel is a good player. he has pace, skills, and he creates chances, but he is an average or maybe even a below average finisher. if he is a striker he has to put away good chances. mostly he fells to do that.

I'm an Ajax fan and he wasn't lazy or anything back then. Benitez never let's him play and that's why Babel is getting a different attitude. Benitez don't want to let him go, but he doesn't let him play either.
What the fuck does he want? If think he can be very important for Liverpool if you let him play. I'm Dutch and I'm an Ajax fan, so that can play a part in my opinion. But I also just love him as a player. But he's getting worse if he never get's time to play.

im a big rafa fan but i have to say he has made a mistake with babel. he came to us with the potential to be a world class striker, he finished top scorer in the euro's u21 just before he came to us, which actually shows that he can score. rafa likes his players to stick to there postion meaning babel can't roam until he gets the space to unleash his potential. babel has never had the chance to develop, he's never played more then 3 games consecutively, how is a player ment to develop.

he is gd but had more or less no playin time with us this season. b4 he came to us he was a good player at ajax. good shots both left n right foot, quick, good finisher. he is an original striker but i dont think he can hack it as a striker in the prem. not good enuf footballing brain and runs. at ajax alot of his goals were on the break or him runnin at defenders. but cant make good enuf runs to beat defenders. fastest player we got tho no doubt.

Ha! Never seen a compliation with so many misses. If anyone on here actually went the match you'd know that babel is aweful. Yes he has a aimless powerful shot which provides limited youtube highlights but he has no other disearnable talents. He has no first touch, he can beat a man but runs into cul de sacs, one footed, most of all he lacks a football brain. Anyone who thinks he is playing out of position, he's no striker. Clinical finishing or natural feel for goal? Ha! At least kuyt passes.

Babel is a great player and because of Rafa people forget that, Babel joined us and did excellent his first season then Rafa stopped playing him, Rafa keeps saying he will be given his chance but 20 minutes every 4 games is not a chance, the amount of games we just don`t look like scoring why not play him right wing instead of kuyt every now and again? He offers just as most a goal threat as our other main attacking players but he lacks serious confidence after being a sub for 2 years straight
