The Internet analogy is great but when I move my mouse and it lands on the post button I can kinda feel it happening so that is a good e.g. of the illusion of solidity.
One thing that mind-blows me is we cannot be certain the external world exists and if the external world that we believe as real is not real then we cannot see what is real thus we cannot be certain that anything is real because we cannot see real and since reality would create me I cannot be certain exist hence u cannot be certain of really anything.

He will set this pseudo-mystical Idealist view in the correct perspective. Houses and thoughts are equally real; however, they exist on different planes (or "dimensions").

Pt1 Great point CB52. I recently had the great pleasure of having one of those all too infrequent lucid dreams. I looked to the left, and all was right, I looked to the right, and in that direction everything was complete. My entire world was perfect, the leaves rustled in the wind. The place seemed completely real but I realized I was sleeping. So I took control. I decided I would fly. I couldnt!!!!!!!!!!
I have spontaneous ones every night but I could never fly until one spontaneous random dream I was flying through a subway station with a magic bin. The situation was so ridiculous I thought "this has to be a dream" and it was. The thing is I happened to be flying though. From that point on I KNEW I could fly so the next lucid dream I had I started trying and eventually I got off the ground.
Pt2I knew it was all in my head, I knew I was the architect, but I still could not break the rules of the so called real world even though I was dreaming! I managed to hover a few inches off the ground but I could only do it while lying down on my stomach. Ye of little faith! Yeah that what not everyone seems to realize. We all live in the same world but we may live in very different subjective worlds. A hypnotist can convince you Batman himself is in the room and you'll not only believe it you'll actually see Batman.

Maybe we're hypnotized into not seeing whats really there. When I was a kid I use to love closing my eyes and visualizing but something kept scaring the shit out of me. I swear to god it was identical to the eye of mordor in Lord of the Rings. I kept trying to sit it out but it scared the living fuck out of me for some reason so I just stopped visualizing. Now I can't do whatever the hell it was I used to do as a kid. I can visualize but it was a different kind of visualizing I used to do as a kid I'd see complex geometric patterns and all sorts of mad shit. Maybe that flaming eye thing that was menacing me was a representation of something real.
i get that but what about when someone slips a drug into someones drink without them knowing and they're still effected by it? according to that theory if you werent conciously aware that you had taken the drug it wouldnt effect you?

To go through an atom you have to overcome its energy and we can do that by smashing the table with a sledge hammer. Good ol sledge hammers always make good analogies haha.

As far as the sledgehammer... you are missing the point. Icke isn't saying that these things we see don't exist, he's talking about how we interpret them.
Take the hypnotist example: when you think your eating an apple, you can actually be eating an onion. But the onion still exists.

Maybe we're hypnotized into not seeing whats really there. Maybe as babies we see things that are around us and maybe they scare the crap outta and its comforting when our parents tell us theres nothing there so we start to believe it. When I was a kid I use to love closing my eyes and visualizing but something kept scaring the shit out of me. I swear to god it was identical to the eye of mordor in Lord of the Rings. Obviously that film wasn't out when I was a kid I'd never seen it before.

I kept trying to sit it out but it scared the living fuck out of me for some reason so I just stopped visualizing. Now I can't do whatever the hell it was I used to do as a kid. I can visualize but it was a different kind of visualizing I used to do as a kid I'd see complex geometric patterns and all sorts of mad shit. Maybe that flaming eye thing that was menacing me was a representation of something real.

i get that but what about when someone slips a drug into someones drink without them knowing and they're still effected by it? according to that theory if you werent conciously aware that you had taken the drug it wouldnt effect you?

None of this is meant to say that the things we see and smell and feel and hear aren't really there. It's saying that our perception is limited and can be manipulated.
This has more to do with politics that physics or chemistry though.
How does one country bomb another and get branded a liberator while another seeks a bomb and gets branded a terrorist nation?

i know exactly wot you mean. they will always twist it to make it seem like they're doing the right thing when its actually the same, if not worse, than what they say is considered an act of terrorism. the devil in disguise is far more dangerous than the devil you know in my opinion. at least the devil you know isnt trying to deceive you! (metaphorically speaking, im not a bible basher). but when they supply the weapons of mass destruction its obvious who the real enemy is!

you're only affected by that kind of negativity if your mindset matches up to that kind of negativity. i have never been drugged like that...and you only hear about that kind of stuff on the television. it can only be reality if you accept it as reality...and i dont accept negativity on that scale as reality...so i never witness it or experience it, and therefore i live in a clean world.
