I grew up listening to merle haggard on my dads record player. My momma would play john denver and the eagles on her casset player but when dinner was being made the kitchen was filled with haggards voice and all the kids knew it was time for dad to come home. These songs will always have a place in my heart.

Well partner, check out Jamey Johnson and Ryan Bingham. They are both excellent singer/songwriters, but I don't know if I can say that either one of them is as good as Merle was. I don't know if there will ever be another that can write as good as Merle.
