Considering his first hits were in the late 50's and he gave up a chance at the Olympics as an athelete to follow his dream of being a professional singer, I would say that Johnny made the right choice. He has given us a sound to remeber. Chances are no one else will ever top him. Not even if The 12th Never comes. Wonderful Wonderful even on a Misty day. God Bless you Mr. Mathis.

I grew up listening to Mr. Mathis, because my parents were great fans, and I became one too. I've always loved this song from "The Phantom Of The Opera", and even though I like Streisand's version better, this is a very, very good cover. Wouldn't expect anything less from Johnny Mathis, who is truly one of the best male vocalists of all time. He's getting up there in years, but remains a fantastic singer. Thank you for posting this!
