My uncle flew the real thing out of March AFB in SoCal back in the day. He said it was the most beautiful plane he ever flew, but also the most cramped, cold, and uncomfortable. He was overjoyed to transition to the B-52.
Yeah, Topeka has a large air base, now National Guard, because of the B-47's that were once stationed there, here, whatever. Long runway. I'll bet that these ducted fans don't require rocket assist on takeoff? It is a beautiful looking plane.
This was an old video from a few years back that I really liked how it turned out so I put it up here to see. The outer pylons are just for show and don't have motors so only 4 DF units are in use.
