Hey, do you know what's the exact effect/distortion used on the original song? or is it just bass synth?

Not sure whether it is a synth or a bass guitar. To me it sounds slightly too fluid to be a synth, but I guess that it could be. If it is a bass guitar, I have no idea what effect was used. It might be just one pedal, or a combination of several effects, or possibly a plugin in the recording software they used.
