  • we should colonize mars with our own microscopic lifeforms first, namely Deinnococcus radiodurans.

  • @Andreloification

I can see the value in using an extremophile species like this one, especially since it is very resistant to radiation. But this is an aerobic organism that needs a source of oxygen to generate energy from organics in the environment. Would it be better to use an organism which can break-down iron oxides (such as those common in Martian soil) to free the bound oxygen?

  • Well ya out of all the planets in the universe why would earth be the only planet with life

    Theres other solar systems

  • I prefer to stay on the lovely EARTH <3

  • @klipo25

The idea of colonising the solar-system in one way or another, is inevitable. Dwindling resources on Earth means that even if we can learn to use our present (and future) resources with total 100% efficiency, we will eventually *still* run out.

Eventually, humanity will need to move out into the universe, or face extinction.

"The Earth is the Cradle of the Mind, but one cannot live in the cradle forever."

    -- Konstantin E. Tsiolkovsky...

  • @fragomatik word!

  • @klipo25 yeah but soon enough it won't be lovely no more. we continue to eat up resources no matter how we try to be efficient in doing so cuz we still eat. We eventually will, move out.. only time knows.. and of course it wont be on our generation

  • seems like a waste i mean all the supllies needed to transport from earth..?

  • @ukijhu97 - When the Brits colonised Nth America & Australia did they bring everything? No. They brought what they needed to START a colony, like provisions, tools, seeds & livestock, but then they built homes from local trees & stone, planted crops for food & used local water sources.

It has already been shown that it is practical to extract oxygen & water as well as silicates, aluminium & titanium from Lunar regolith (Google it!).

Have more faith in human determination...and SCIENCE!

  • @fragomatik dude comparing colonization to living on mars is a bit far-fetched dont ya think..? theres no fukin crops on mars. Major problem.

  • @ukijhu97

Sigh. You made a rather naive comment about "supplies needed to transport from earth" & I answered with 2 simple examples from history, which u ignored. Then u made a lame remark about "no fukin crops on mars", ignoring the fact that PEOPLE CAN GROW CROPS.

That's fine, enjoy your ignorance. Its not my job to educate u or spoon-feed u the facts. LOOK THEM UP FOR YOURSELF. It's the only way u will learn. Until then, please don't bore me with anymore herp-derp comments, fair enough?

  • i liked the soundtrack. very futiristic!

  • I bet I won't be alive long enough to witness any chances of colonizing/terraforming Mars D:

  • Its more likely that the colonies of Mars will be underground. It will protect marsians from meteorites, while ground bases would be just a small building complex: landing zone, control center (control tower), entrance to underground cities, fuel tanks and some kind of mining facility. Everything else will be safe underground :)

  • @ixonixas

Probably. Same on the Moon, too I believe. Underground is safe from UV on Mars, as well.

  • what about the one spot that is like a huge constant hurricane, as big as earth, its on mars. can anyone tell me where i can find more info about it?

  • @MGRaiden64

You're thinking of the Great Red Spot, which is a storm centre on Jupiter.

It's big enough to encompass three Earths.

For more info, go to google and type in "wiki great red spot".

    You're welcome :)

  • @MGRaiden64 The hurricane you are talking about is actually on Jupiter.

Mars is a little bit smaller than the Earth. The storm on Jupiter is bigger than the Earth and has been observed several centuries ago by Chinese astronomers.

  • heheh is it hot on mars?

    or is it SUBZERO?

  • I think mars will be the second planet to habit life , becouse human race will eventualy make it hapends and bring life to that planet . About europe ...thats an awesome concept too , imagine above or underwater citys :D with marine life . What i think is ....europa has been around for sometime ...is it posible for some primitive life to apear and we dont know yet? if thats true ...it would be AMAZING!

  • @Molhedim

In the next 50-100 years, I think we'll discover one of two things:

    1. Simple organisms are *common* throughout the universe *but* intelligent life is extremely rare (ie. we are the only currently living example).

    2. Life is very rare, and intelligent life is even rarer :)

    I'm betting on number 1.

  • @fragomatik think about this , if we find even primite life under that ice on europa ....then life is everywhere. If we find other life forms in our own solar system ...that literaly in our backyard.Inteligent life ...we do not know that , life ...like animals and stuff , i'm pretty sure there is bilions of it . The galaxy is to big ....the universe is to big , the numbers of sun and planets its HUGE .....I think top space mision should be Europa.

  • @Molhedim Well, really that's what I'm saying, simple, primitive life is probably common. We'd expect to find these simple organisms on Mars or Europa or Titan. Complex lifeforms (probably) need stable conditions for a *very* long time to evolve from the simple organisms, as they did on the early Earth. The first organisms on Earth were probably seeded by comets, and were anaerobic - they did not need oxygen. We may find such examples of anaerobic primitive life in places we would not expect!

  • @fragomatik agree with you , tho what troubles me is that the gouverments dont invest in space as it should ...if you look at many ppl , the curiosity is gone ....we could achieve so many , in such short time , if only the investment would go more to space than in military such as tanks , munitions , jet planes , nuclear research bombs research/manufacture or whatever. It really makes me sad, verry sad.

  • @Molhedim Don't be too sad, bro, there are many of us who feel the same! I read somewhere recently that the Iraq war cost the same as multiple moon-missions *per year*! Can you imagine what NASA could do with that sort of funding? We could have had a moonbase & Orbital Power Satellites & manned Mars missions by now. Instead we have the Iraq/Afghan Wars & a crippling debt-crisis caused by greedy banks & fat-cat politicians. Nothing short of revolution will change Western politics now :(

  • @fragomatik yes you are right .....but that means 1 think : our life is short ...i wana see wonderful things achieved by human race before i die . I'm 20 now ...but still life goes fast. If the space progresion is so slow ...i will be lucky if i see something interesting.Yes in few years they could expand human life to couple of hundreds of years trought medicine science ....but who the hell will aford to pay for that? not me...not you.

  • @Molhedim Keep hopeful, my friend! I'm in my mid-50s now, but as a kid at 12 years old I witnessed Armstrong's first steps *live* from the Moon and it literally changed my life! It has been two-steps-forwards-one-step-back since that time, but we may both yet live long enough to see Man take his first steps on Mars, or maybe even a primitive moonbase, in the next 30 years...here's hoping!

  • @fragomatik Well thats the only thing we got mate , hope. I hope this damn oil goes away ...but they would probably find 10 more reasons to screw inocent ppl in god knows what country.

  • @Molhedim ....we may find life in places without liquid water, that have been stable for a long time, or have changed slowly over time. You're right, Europa would be a great place to search for life, but Europa is also 10 times the distance of Mars from Earth. We can easily send sophisticated probes to these distant places, but manned missions to the gas-giants will never be as "easy" as manned missions to Mars, but if a probe finds life on Europa, that attitude could change very quickly :)

  • @fragomatik europa does have liquid life. Life's impossible to be without it, at least carbon based life. it Needs an aqueous enviroment where salts to be dissolved and chemical reactions to ocur.

  • @fragomatik i mean liquid water xD

  • @Firionel87

Does all life need "liquid" water? There are microbes here on Earth that have evolved to live in glaciers, or in sulphuric acid pools, and other harsh environments. They've adapted & survived. On other planets, if conditions for life were good in the past, but then began to change, life may have adapted gradually to live in places we don't normally expect to find it. Maybe I'm right off-track but its an interesting possibility IMO.

  • @fuckmania07 furst your account called fuckmania 2 this vddeo is abbout the life in future or some thing like than not about jusus or aliens ufo or shit like that so wtch out dude

  • It is our destiny to leave this planet and explore our universe. We must keep going, we must pressure our politicians to keep pushing forward into space. We are all made up of stardust, and it is in our blood to go back to the stars.

  • @silversurfer8016 The way I see it, we have little choice. Even if we become 99.99% efficient with our rapidly diminishing natural resources, we'll *still* run out eventually. We need to expand into space, or we'll eventually become extinct, scrabbling amongst each other for the last remaining scraps of food, energy and water. That's not the future I want for my descendants!

  • @silversurfer8016 Do you mind if I quote you on my channel...

    W/ your credit of course...

  • @fuckmania07 with your name, I would think you would hink twice before condemning people. Also, You are the reason why people hate religion. Your ignorance is not very christian like.

  • i heard MarsDirect is starting a mission with NASA called "Mars to Stay" in 2030-2035, it would be a pioneering mission so no one will come back, it will be permanent settlements, the qualifications are your age has to be 30-35 and your personality has to suit as in reaction to unplanned events isolation, with only a few people, the mission is COLONIZATION, not a "research then get out" so if it sounds good to you...... who wants to follow me to Mars :D like this if your volunteering

  • How you just gon mention Jesus when ur user name is fuckmania07....

  • just ask Japan to construct earthquake resistant buildings and electronics/automobiles... China can make many things for us.. oh and korea will help with the electronics too... usa can do the government stuff or whatev.. lol and my caps lock key doesn't work for some reason lol

  • @fuckmania07 im a christian

is it a sin for me to think that there is other life on other planets :/??

  • Hahaha are there only like 400 people on earth that have their eyes set on other things OTHER THEN EARTH? This can all be possible with our modern tech, take money out of american welfare ( 95% of the people on it are fat asses who will do nothing country or planet. ) and put it into the space programs! Its easy to do all of this people just need the means to do it.

Any who if we do get colonies on mars, just think of all the geothermal energy the red wasteland holds!

  • @MetalGear180

Political shortsightedness is the real enemy here. If the powers-that-be could bring themselves to think beyond 2 or 3 years at time, we could get some *real* stuff done! Instead we have them arguing back -and-forth as to whether climate change is real or not. Even mundane scenarios like building new highways or schools or hospitals is difficult for these fat-cats, who only care about their rich cronies, and the corps who bankroll them. Greedy bastards all of 'em!

  • lets terraform this puppy

  • Dear fuckmania07

Thank you for taking the time to comment. This video is NOT about ALIENS or UFOs. It is about CONVENTIONAL FUTURE SPACE EXPLORATION BY HUMANS.

As such, it does not take into account the intervention of DEITIES, or other SUPERNATURAL phenomena, such as JESUS or SATAN.

If you wish to rationally discuss the myriad possibilities of Man's glorious future in Space, then by all means drag yourself down from your high-horse & come have a chat. Otherwise please go fuck yourself :p

Welche Tradition wollen Sie ehren?

  • I don't understand why we don't fund this more...We should be funding a way for us to get off the planet should a disaster occure and we need to stop funding pointless wars...

  • Imagine Your on Mars's Mountains .......... With a Quad-Bike lol .

  • This is a dream. And it's becoming more and more closer to reality. We have technology,we have the knowledge to do such things. We CAN do it!!

  • @dyazRO Agreed. We're just too dumb to realized the positives that could come from funding this.

  • @xXSparky117Xx

For the love of Britney, please let this meme die with dignity...

  • iz dis real coz its soo cool.

  • @IMLYINGISWEAR said "iz dis real coz its soo cool."

Nah, it's just an animation. It *could* be real...some day - in the future - if we stop stuffing around and *really* start exploring the universe around us.

  • prisonlife with a nice tune..

  • it will happen

  • its impossible for there to be life on mars Chuck Norris has already been there

  • @BtBlades98

Srsly? Chuck Norris jokes? Really? How 2007 of you... :P

  • You're trying to give me an epileptic attack?

  • @MostlyWicked said "You're trying to give me an epileptic attack?"

Lol! No, not really trying to do that ...

I made this back in 2006 when I was a video-editing n00b - even *worse* than I am now! You know what it's like when you have a new toy: you just go nuts on it. When your new toy is a video editing suite, "going nuts" means using *every* feature, *every* transition and *every* effect available ALL AT ONCE! Ah, good times!

  • yeah, I see your point. Lotta people come on just to make rude comments.

Still, I don't know if you understood my question. I'll switch it into an accusation, so it can be better understood...

I suspect that it's possible that there are structures on Mars, and that your video was made with structures in it, so that other videos (from other people) that might follow, will be seen as fakes too.

    hmmmm ? :)

  • @joeblohhh

    Ok I get it now...

No, there was no conscious intention to do that. This vid is actually a mash-up of many different clips I made over about 15 years! I just threw them all together & added some music. In all honesty, the only reason I included the "Martian ruins" was to test a technique for simulating buildings using Terragen elevation maps.

I suppose different folks interpret the vid in different ways. The viewer always brings something with them, sort of like an inkblot-test :)

  • @fragomatik True. Wow. I had not idea that it takes that much work to make a video.

All in all, it's good stuff.

  • @joeblohhh said "I had not idea that it takes that much work to make a video."

That's just me, coz I'm such an amateur :) I can usually only make about 2 videos a year.

    Thanks for the discussion, joe

  • So, this video was made so that any videos AFTERWARD from anyone, would be

looked at as if they are fake?

And, why do you first have to approve comments? Is this how you keep everything

    in.... 'order'.

  • @joeblohhh said "...why do you first have to approve comments?"

Do you have any idea how many youTube comments are just pure trolling? After a hundred troll-posts you just throw your hands in the air & say "screw that!". But sometimes it's *fun* to troll-the-trolls :)

And don't forget: every video on youTube has info text that tells you something about it. Some (like me) put in *lots* of helpful info. Guess how many people actually bother to read that info before posting a comment?

  • fake

  • @smartzazi

"Fake" you say? In what way ?

Do you mean "fake" as in "not real"? If so, I can absolutely confirm that this is a GENUINE computer rendered video! I mean, it's right THERE in front of you, on your screen - of course it's REAL!

Or, perhaps you mean "fake" as in "...last night I had sex with my gay lover & FAKED my orgasm..." ? To which I can only respond: these vids *are* 3D CGI about Space Exploration & Settlement & *not* about gay butt-sex.

    Sorry.

  • @fragomatik why would you have gay sex when you have a woman? unless she's ugly then I'd give ya that one.

  • @smartzazi said "...unless she's ugly then I'd give ya that one."

    Are you flirting with me?

  • @fragomatik No, what makes you think that?

  • @smartzazi Hey that was a quick response! Ok, it's not as much fun when I have to explain, but I'm actually just messin' wit ya. You kinda trolled me with that "fake" comment, so I thought I'd troll you back - you know - just for fun. But now I have to explain it and that just sucks the fun right out of it, ya dig? Anyway, I think we've reached an "understanding" now, so I'll stop teasing you. I promise. :P

  • @fragomatik

    Way to disarm the troll.

    Bravo, Sir. Bravo.

  • @TakeBackTheWorld

thanks :) sometimes it's easier than others

  • the mostest grooviest music EVER! Martians ROCK!

  • @fragomatik =O your not? oh......i wanna say scottish but ....... Australian?

  • @sylux459 Aussie, with lots of mates from the UK :]

  • @fragomatik haha nice, im from the uk :D but live in Nz now ha

  • @sylux459 said "haha nice, im from the uk :D but live in Nz now ha"

hey that's nice...kiwis are generally pretty cool, similar sense of humour to the poms and aussies

  • @fragomatik Song name for vid? Oh and good work with them trolls ;D

  • @MrLegendman3

Song name is "Neohippie" by Torley Wong. He has a channel here on YT. He's created some *great* stuff over the years & generously provides some of his work under a Creative Commons license. Google his name and you'll find lots of goodness..!

Troll-battles are becoming a way of life on teh interwebz. You win some, you lose some. Often it's fun, but at other times it's positively *scary*. Ever seen the movie "Idiocracy"? If not, I recommend it. If so, then you know already... ;)

  • @fragomatik you're an alien.

  • @joeblohhh said "you're an alien"

You got me. I'm here for the womenfolk....and the beer. Crop-circles, cattle mutilation and anal probing optional...

  • @100imachristian man that is hard to understand that you call yourself a Christian, whatch your mouth and grow up, get over self and ask God to wash out your mouth, grow up Christian, better rethink that, i will pray for you brother

  • @100imachristian THERE ARE BILLIONS OF GALAXY, IN OUR GALAXY THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PLANET LIKE EARTH, DO THE MATH BRO, IM SURE THAT THERE IS LIFE ELSWHERE, BUT NOT THOSE GAYS HUMANOIDS THAT THEY SHOW US, PROBABLY SOME ANIMALS OR FISHS

  • @100imachristian

Lets see you figure out fucking genius. Ya how could you build the Hubble Telescope. Your not Newton or Gallielo fucking dumbfuck.

  • I wish there could be a space station on Mars w/ a greenhouse to grow vegetables. We could create another life-sustaining planet w/ new resources.

  • Amazing =) why would anyone dislike this video? It would be pretty cool if you made models for sci fi novels, like Foundation or Ringworld =)

  • @ProjectZeus

Thnx for the compliment. Some folks don't like the psychedelic flashes and effects, gives them epileptic fits, or something ;)

By "models" do you mean real-life objects made out of plastic/wood, etc? Or do you mean like digital models? Coz if ur talking digital, yeah I've made a few from Larry Niven's Ringworld. And the Bubbleworld model is based on Niven's Confinement Asteroid.

  • @fragomatik HA! I have already seen your ringworld video! Didn't realise it was yours xD It was amazing! Larry Niven and Isaac Asimov are some of my all time favourite authors! And I meant digital models, english isn´t my first language =/

Anyway nevermind those dudes, your videos are just mindblowing =P

  • @ProjectZeus Beautiful! Ur english is fine! Many thanks for subbing!

  • CRAZY ROCK! *DANCEDANCEDANCE.* ..oh wait, was this vid about something? I didn't notice

  • Nice work man! Killer music, great visuals. You should be making a living at this.

  • @rsmothersjr Ur very kind - thanks! Maybe in another life, this is what I'd do for a living - it would be great! But unfortunately, I'm an too old to start over now, especially with a family & mortgage & the economy ... you know how it goes :)

  • FUCKING EFFECTS

  • Hey, let's go & invade our neighbours!

  • @borgduck Is your hovercraft full of eels? Would you like directions to the tobacconists? WTF are you talking about?

  • @fragomatik Our neighbours in that little blue, green planetoid over there!

  • @fragomatik my nipples explode with delight!

  • @rsmothersjr ..."...I vill not buy zis rrrecord, eeet eeez skratched..."

    :) I <3 python

  • no point of finding life on other planets when we have everything we need on earth, it would be cool and all but it would be pointless unless their were no natural disasters suck as hurricanes and earthquakes

  • @jefryice You make a fair point, but think on this: what is the maximum population that the Earth can sustain?

It's a trick question really, because the fact is that the answer is a finite sum of people.

Eventually we *will* need to leave the planet. Any technological civilisation will eventually need to become space-faring, if only to seek other sources of materials & energy . The argument could be made that space-faring civilisations actually have little need for planetary surfaces at all!

  • That is it? that is what people whant in Mars...what we have here already? lol! i will pass I would rather go with jesus and God.

  • @WOOTMIX Relax mate, its just an animation I made for fun, to teach myself animation & 3d-modelling. Such as it is, it's just art. You haven't got a problem with *art* do you, vicar?

  • @fragomatik first of all buddy! I am no Vicar.. I would never call myself such a thing no way and second YES! I love art and I totally understand what you mean from that point of view. Sorry m8t just judge ya and that was low. Nice skills u got there.

  • @WOOTMIX I read "Jesus & God" and immediately thought "Hullo Vicar"! That's just me being cheeky ha ha...No prob woot glad u got a sense of humour mate :)

  • Nice video.

  • the phoenix lander found significant life by explaining the amount of carbon dioxide in the polar ice caps

  • @CanadianWolfPack said: "the phoenix lander found significant life..."

Umm...no. There's significant evidence of *water* and erosion by water, but no conclusive evidence of life. I wish there was, but so far: nothing...

I guess we'll have to wait for the next generation of rovers to do a more thorough search for life.

  • dont show fake things only truth

  • @21wesko WTF are you talking about?

  • Is the mars base called Bowie 1?

  • mint vid well done

  • I wish it could be real .

  • We all wish it could be real .

  • Really awesome. Although none of us living today will ever get to see something like this because of politics, lack of interest, and money, you did an excellent job creating a fantasy world on Mars that we can all dream about.

  • fuck man ima be dead when that happens fuck wheres a coma tube when u need one i could sleep for a good 300 years and then find myself in the future:)

  • Dear SuperCatdick

Sorry it's taken such a long time to respond, but at first I thought that a mentally challenged child had stumbled onto my channel, and I was very nervous about replying. Like many, I find it awkward dealing with the disabled & I didn't know what to say...

However, as I progressed through the convoluted threads of your comment, it dawned on me that I had totally misread the situation. You're not retarded, you're from ANOTHER PLANET!

    WELCOME TO ERF, MOTHERFUCKER!

  • @fragomatik its earth bitch not erf

  • @hydrokido

    WOOOOSH!

Looks like that one went right over your head, hydrokido...

    I'll give you a hint :

    Will Smith in Independance Day

..please don't make me have to explain it to you...ok?

  • yay we are going pollute mars:D

  • awesome job ! i wanna more videos !

  • love the music......and the vid! awesome to imagine ..its possible

  • @232323C - Thank you!

Credit for the music goes to Torley Wong. He has a channel on youTube & a selection of music available online under a Creative Commons license.

One day humans will tackle such huge projects, for the sheer adventure of a new frontier, or for survival of the species. We may give up on planets all together & choose to build habitats in space instead! Who knows what the next 300 years may bring?

  • 0:05 WUT THE?

  • @RockhopperY

LOL! Okay, okay you got me...that butterfly model is one of my first ever efforts - about 25 years old!

Yes, the wings go THROUGH the legs & there are lots of other dodgy bits too, like the scaling on the domes compared to the planet & that Martian moon is actually a model of the Earth's moon...yes I cheated!

Oh well! The purpose of the video in 2006 was as a learning exercise, trying new tools, etc. Sometimes you need to cut corners to make stuff work, or to save time.

  • @fragomatik LOL i ment the music at the begining with the flying wings its kinda akward lol

  • @RockhopperY Oh okay, I get it now...yeah, its a little-known fact that butterflies *love* psychedelic acid-rock ;)

  • @fragomatik hey, what program did u use do do the animations?

  • @RockhopperY

For 3D I used an old-skool modeller/animator called Imagine. It was pioneer 3D-software on Amiga & PC-DOS in the 80's. The Windows version never took-off, so Imagine faded into history...

Now its available free (see link info text of my vids) & still does a very good job!

For landscape I used Terragen to generate pics which Imagine then overlaid with 3d objects. The final video was fed to Muvee AutoProducer to sync music & add FX which are truly horrible - my very first video :p

  • Butterfly - Moth - Monarch

"Yes, we are around, can You see us?"

  • @DasWaldkind

Now, don't get all excited - this is just an animation. There is no hidden meaning in it. There's no conspiracy to hide the truth. There's no Mothman, no Alien Greys, and no secret Illuminati Mars Bases built by George Bush and the Lizard People.

It's just a video. For entertainment. And for fun. And as a learning exercise to teach myself 3d-modelling and animation. That's all!

I AM NOT THE MESSIAH, I AM JUST A NAUGHTY BOY!

  • @fragomatik: LOL, I (!) did not mention any of the above. BUT THANKS! (I do not believe in circumstance ;) Nice butterflies on mars though...

  • @DasWaldkind

Hey no problem...I was not sure what you were saying in your 1st post.

You would be surprised how many people think that this video is supposed to be REAL, that this is what it is like on Mars right now, and they leave comments like "hey this is fake - its just CGI!"

Anyway, thanks for the comments ... hope u enjoyed the vids!

  • First i would like to say what an awesome vid dude.

Second and pardon the language but IS THAT FUCKING MOTHRA? thats fucking awesome. lmao

  • @kidboy3000 "FUCKING MOTHRA" LOL!

Yeah, that's a fair enough comment...yeah I kinda fucked up the scaling on that one...the butterfly DOES sort of look ginormous, huh?

  • The dome would not be made of standard glass...it would have to made of a higher crystalline substance which some is currently in its developmental infancy, much like carbon tubing and nanotechnology is now. We just don't know enough to make it workable or useful. Michio Kaku says he explains it briefly in his book visions, however I have not read it, so I do not know.

  • this is a great video this would be rlly sweet. but my only concern is wut if the dome cracks and breaks open or something? but loved the vid :)

  • @TheJustyn1111 Thanks for the comment - glad u liked the vid. The dome is supposedly constructed of composite materials. There are multiple layers of material & complex assemblies incorporated into the structure for radiation & impact shielding. Some layers are "sandwiched" with ballistic-gel-like material that tends to capture shrapnel fragments & the gel itself will seal-off minor breaches. Anything larger than a few tons (statistically rare) will cause major damage, but not total failure.

  • @fragomatik

someone has to build it & anything can break. its too clod there to work and alot of other variables.

  • @deluxedookie : Yep, Mars is not the most hospitable of places, but having said that, its not much colder than some places on Earth...

I guess the point is that people do some pretty risky stuff, on the promise of relatively meagre returns. If reasons are strong enough we'll take all sorts of big risks to achieve the results we want, even if it costs lives and billions of dollars. Humans are not risk-averse, especially when survival or profit is concerned.

  • @fragomatik massive domes mean you need to bring alot of equipment and people then you have to keep them alive and for them to give up there life to work in space.

  • @deluxedookie What makes you think they would BRING everything with them? If you study the early colonial history of places like the Americas and Australia, for example, you'll see they brought livestock, tools and technology but they used *local* resources for building.

As for "give up their life to work in space"...so? Immigration to those places in the 18th & 19th was HUGE! Even today there is no shortage of people who would jump at the chance to be a part of a colony in space, or on Mars.

  • @fragomatik

aint gonna happen it they would die. they would have to stay up there at least 1 month worth of travel both ways they would have to live there months at a time just cuz of the transit to earth. i doubt they will take the long way to mars. and it will cost alot more than the war is costing the usa to send food and supplys. cuz there not building it over night. no one can even go to the moon yet but they think they can make mars liveable

  • @deluxedookie OK don't take my word for it. Do your own research, but don't sell the species short! In a century we've gone from horse & buggy to nuclear energy & cybernetics. Can you imagine the next 500 years?

We've ALREADY been to the moon & we will return, once it is profitable to do so.

Sooner or later, we MUST leave this planet & colonise the solar system. It is inevitable. We'll either succeed, or die trying because in the long run, we have NO CHOICE, if we wish to survive as a species.

  • hmmm nice plan but im firs thinking obout that world .... but real

  • cool

  • that is how the first few people will colonise mars but after a while they will change the whole atmosphere to be earthlike...

The money spent on WW2 would have been more than enough to turn mars green.

  • You get kind of high after watching this...

  • @TheChemicalMe

What a co-incidence: I got kind of high while making it :)

  • Nice animation, better than I could ray-trace or do using vectors.

  • @AnimusAnimator

thanks for the compliment! I'm just an enthusiastic amateur :)

  • Earth plants are going to be perhaps the third most important thing (after water and energy) if we are going to colonize within the solar system.

  • NICE PREDICTION.

  • very cool music

  • What's the gravity tug?

  • @SalienMovies It is a method for deflecting asteroids or other bodies in space. Can't post links in youTube comments, but just Google "gravity-tug" and you'll get the answer in the first few results.

  • @fragomatik Okay, thanks.

  • It's a wild Butterfree! Pikachu! I choose you!

  • @BlackSpeakersOhYeah damn pesky kids with their damn peek-a-chew :)

  • i have a diffrent idea,,, maybe its worthy to consider....would happen if we started to catch big asteroids and by chenging their flight trajectory we would bombard mars to hit up its surface? would it speed up wholeterraforming proces? maybe its faster and chepar than enything else
