  • hey check out this beat I made off of this AWESOME music!!! :DDD

    /watch?v=HiKTYe-zY4o

  • T_T so beautiful...

  • Big Thx for this song and the link brother ...

  • I think it makes most people reminiscence, but the best part is that it represents something different to each of us. Nothing short of a masterpiece, this is how you can tell. If someone would die to LIVE in a world you created, shown in only two hours then you have done something great. THAT is truly amazing...

  • i think this is my favorite movie. I watched it since I was five. i watched it again tonight for the first time in seven years.

  • i watch this about 15 times a week. literally. a ive watched it since i was three, Now that is some great dedication, to a great movie.

  • i love this movie. if you're a drummer you need to check out travis orbin playing this, its awesome

  • Ok, my two favorite things (princess mononoke and the legend of zelda) were both made around my bday. ocarina of time, the year i was born, and mononoke the year after. i beat zelda OoT when i was three, and ive watched this movie since i was two. to this day i watch this movie at LEAST 10 times a week.

  • what's wrong with the US version? =\ they're both beautiful!

  • @Daijakake That's just it - it sucks because it's too short! Thankfully this is extended ^_^

  • My Dad like, borrowed this YEARS ago!But then,I still remember this after like,7 years later. This IS awesome!Who agrees!?

  • Ive legit watched this movie over 50 times.

and i will neeeeever stop watching it <3.

its so good. along with all of the rest of miyazaki's movies.

  • I love this!!!!<3<3<3

  • is this an HD version of this song?

  • i would do anything to be able to actually live in that movie, it might sound weird but alot of people dont understand the way some people apreciate things or the level and amount in which we they do it in, if love something enough or at all, never let any one tell u its stupid or whatever, and i agree with thetopherhaslanded, i could totally die to this song

  • @GroundZero117 haha thanks :) and yeah i totally feel what your saying!

  • i could die to this music.

  • sigh!

  • ive got two forests beside my property...and i go into both of them and listen to this song over and over

  • @princessmononoke05 I wish I live near nature

  • i want there to be princess mononoke 2

  • @brandozhagn It took Miyazaki 16 years to fully complete this one...who knows, hopefully he already started a second one! I really want there to be a sequel, too, since I really want to see what happens next.

  • magical and absolutely original, i love this song so much thx for posting it and it does suit very much to hear while walking in nature or through a forest.

  • I finished the movie for the first time last night! I love this song!

  • I wish San´s forest was real, where the gods walk with the appearence of the beasts. This way, man and nature could be one.

  • @princepstenebris Yaku shima island in Japan was the model of San`s forest.

    watch?v=8giYJqm2E7c

Ghibli`s stuff stayed in this island for weeks.

  • @noobpwner1000564447 umad bro

  • @noobpwner1000564447 hell yeah! This music is wonderful and keeps me from having nightmares! The trick is to listen before bed and not listen to any other music after it till morning. Just leave your thoughts to the music and let your imagination flow with good things... pure bliss :)

  • Favorite Miyazaki movie. :) It always reminded me of a game that came out around the same time as this movie called Jade Cocoon. I think the animation from the opening might even be Miyazaki.

LOL. My brother even thought their might have been some Japanese movie or anime based on that game.

  • @AkumaUchitoru same here, spirited away and princess mononoke arethe bets of miyazaki's work!!!!!

  • this song is SO EPIC!!!!! :D

  • this was a sad movie

  • <3

  • this song is so beautiful ! it reminds me of my childhood:)

  • Those quivering strings at 1:50 sent shivers all over me. :-)

  • @MrTingfod I got the xact same feeling

  • Sry that I must say this: the Japanse version is much better!!

  • @Sandra47Me you got to kidding me right? :( Please tell me you are kidding.....

  • @Sandra47Me I like both ^_^

  • hmm. this is inspiring. i wish hayoa would make more movies like this. does, he plan to, or is he done?

  • @Poopyheadnumber1

I think he was planning to make like 1 or 2 more, and then he'll retire.

  • It really is hard to describe this,it just feels like "awesome" "amazing" aint enough

  • the eng and jap versions are both really good, cant pick a fav one =)

  • The Japanese one is sung by a man :)

  • Hayoa Miyazaki has a knack for the music in his films they provoke emotion so easily

  • Hauntingly beautiful. . .

  • The english translation sucks. Bring the japanese version back.

  • Thank you Steve Alpert for translating it, and Sasha Lazard for singing it :D

  • @Andrejispanickin Then search for 'Princess Mononoke theme instrumental' and stop ruining this beautiful song with your shity coments.

  • @TheWolfsCall Legend of Ashitaka is way better than this IMO. And I'm not ruining this song, that singer did.

  • @Andrejispanickin Why? Because it's in English? Just because it's in English, doesn't mean it sucks. Besides, if you're so against it, just switch to the Japanese version (there's a reason that these movies have the Japanese tracks too, you know.)

  • @CaptainRaccoonWhitly I think you're confusing me with someone else =P Samoied perhaps?

  • @Andrejispanickin Nope, I'm referring to you...unless you have no issues with the language spoken, in which case maybe I have.

    I'm confused... >_>

  • @CaptainRaccoonWhitly No I never mentioned the language as a problem at all, I just dislike the vocals.

  • es hermoso

  • Such a beautiful song.. I'm so happy that Neil Gaiman adapted the Englsh script for the film/these lyrics. Combine Miyazaki, with Gaiman - add Hisaishi's music, = wonderful.

  • The best

  • Any lyrics pls? Very nice singing btw! :)

  • everytime I hear this I keep thinking of the song Natsu Hi boshi from Naruto...

  • i heard this (no words just tune) in a restruant lol it so beautifull

  • i heard this (no words just tune) in a restruant lol it so beautyfull

  • Thank you for doing this

  • San and Ashitaka owns

  • u know i really dont care about authenticity of language because its fucking awesome either way!!!!

  • One of the best animated movies of all time. Miyazaki is king.

  • I really liked this song but after getting the Japanese OST I haven't heard it in English for years. I prefer the Japanese version. This one is still nice but not as good as the original.

  • Jesus Christ it's not a fan competition here, it's just AstralDragoon saying his feelings. The point isn't to prove fanhood or something by recognizing "Princess Mononoke" is not her ACTUAL name, and that San really is, the point is that he was moved by the movie, and that was exactly what the movie was created to do.

  • The music and words in this song are so beautiful yet so haunting to hear. For some reason though, listening to it always calms my heart no matter what troubles it.

  • pretty good.. i prefer the japanese original tho

  • i love this song

  • beautiful movie and song

  • In the moonlight i felt your heart quiver like a bowstrings pulse in the moons mere light you look at me nobody knows your heart when the sun has gone, i see you beautiful and haunting but cold like the blade of the knife so sharp so sweet nobody knows your heart. All of your sorrow grief and pain locked away in the forest of the night your secret heart belongs to the world of the things that sigh in the dark or the things that cry in the dark

  • Where's Princess Mononoke 2

  • The movie didn't make me cry... But then I broke-down when their curse got lifted and the credits started.

  • Ashitaka!

  • Oh my God. This is so beautiful...enough said.

  • beautiful!!もののけ姫アニメで一番好きだわぁ

  • I nearly cried when she was about to kill Ashitaka... This song is so beautiful, it makes me imagine Ashitaka and San walking through a field of flowers, holding hands....

  • this song is simply beautiful i can listen to it over and over and it wouldn't get old the music is amazing and meaningful and the song this goes to well the movie is awesome Princess Mononoke is a kickass movie woot woot XD lol

  • @SKDhorserider I WILL DESTROY YOU. >:[

  • how can people give thumbs down for this, except by accident?

  • 1. download this song

    2. put it on your ipod

    3. turn it all the way up and put it on repeat

    4. walk through the forest

  • @itsalightbulb 5.wipe ur butt with leaves

  • @itsalightbulb thats exactly how u get the full effect of this beautiful song..... :D

  • @itsalightbulb it works man, we musta had the same idea. I did it once, actually, I walked through the forest and to a waterfall. It was beautiful. Just sitting in the morning dew, watching the sun rise/ :)

  • AWESOME SONG=D

  • I love this song. It's cold, haunting, and beautiful just like Sin is in the movie. It makes me think of a goddess, one of the Three Fates.

  • oh i love this movie. I can remember when i first saw it! I have the DVD now. Miyazaki should be given the utter most highest praise. It kills me that ugly beiber is more popular than this movie that is better than him by far.

  • it kind of ruins the effect when a woman sings it instead of a countertenor

  • For some reason I like the English version of this song better.

  • everybody remembers the first time they heard this.

  • We watched it in English, then we had to do a project on it.

  • @BreezeLink ummm can i transfer to you're school? like now!?

  • My teacher made my class watch this movie. At first, i hated it, but the more i watched, the more i got into it. After class I went to buy princess mononoke. Today will be my 10th time watching it. Its just a master piece and it will always be my favorite movie from now on.

  • @BreezeLink

What class? (probably some kind of language study class)

  • @BreezeLink

You're teacher made you're class to watch this?

    Then you're school rock!!

  • @BreezeLink

dude you're teacher is AWESOME. the only cool thing we got to watch was The lion king in my last year of schooling. the essay linking it to hamlet wasn't as fun though :(

  • for some reason none of the links will let me download this! It always freezes at the last second. I really wanted this on my Ipod to. *sigh* :(

  • This song is just so beautiful and magical that while I was listening to this song, I completely forgot that I had a stomach ache and it went away. :'D

  • i love this movie...i hearted Joe Hisaishi for composing such great song and hearted Hayao Miyazaki for making such great animated movies

  • Many people in the USA and other places don't even know this film due to being attracted to other bs films which are not clever and good enough. This film was amazing and it is easily hidden from others like a lost treasure.

  • I totally love this song!!!!

  • I heard the English version first, but I think that the Japanese version carries so much more emotion in it, idk why.

    But Hisaishi-sama and Miyazaki-sama are GODS! :D

  • I dont wanna sound dumb but i am trying to find music similar to this but i dont know what kind of genre to put this in does anyone have any ideas?

  • @Conkinator451 I would not put this in a genre. And I do not know any music that sounds exactly like this. But something which I think resembles the style a little bit, is October Project. Unfortunately they only have a few songs on Youtube. (And they only ever released 2 CD's before they quit, but they were brilliant and very moving too.)

  • Princess Mononoke was my first Hayao Miyazaki's film...and so far I've probably watched more then 10 times and it's definetely one of my fave cartoons...and one of the most beautiful soundtracks I've ever heard...

  • i cant listen to this, it overwhelms me.

  • i actually like the english vocal more than the japanese one...dont hate

  • @ReTuRneD1 :) If you're a non-bilingual American like me, then that's perfectly acceptable :) I agree with you to a point.

  • This, and Nasicca, are my favorite all time animated films in the world. Truly works of art if I have EVER seen one. It will be an extremely sad day in my world when Hayoa Miyazaki passes on, because then this world will lose a very great man.

  • @TalesofGirl4ever Those are both some of my favorites to, I have also always LOVED Spirited Away! And Hayao Miyazaki is a GOD to the animations word!

  • princess mononoke is probably the only anime film i would pay 20 bucks to see in theature, the music, the story, easily a movie everyone should see once in their life. not just anime fans

  • do not want. the japanese version is so much better

  • can I have the instrumental?

  • This song is so hauntingly beautiful...it sends chills down my spine! Joe Hisaishi is a god of music and is the perfect combination for Hayao Miyazaki's films

  • @mysticlightensueka i get the same feeling if there was a love button i would love your comment lol

  • @mysticlightensueka

    Oh gosh, me too!!!!

  • :D I love this song!

  • beautiful song .... gooooood anime ... :) with sad moments... I LIKE IT :)

  • man i still look at this movie speaking of it ima look at it now i love Princess mononoke :3 !

  • this was my first anime movie

  • beautiful song :D

  • I'm not a huge fan of anime, but this movie defined what anime really is to me. This movie is on and will remain forever on my list of favorite movies of all time. I can't describe with words how amazing and moving this movie is.

  • Too win a heart like San will complete my entire life. Since a half is already taken up by watching the movie itself.

  • beautiful

  • dam i wish i could buy this version of the song :( i love it

  • english is not good!!!

  • i love this song XD

this wa like my child hood movie,i remember watching it when i was younger XD thats why i got into liking wolves, notjust that cuz a experience with a wolf helped me^^ :P but this song is so nice :)

  • ilove haoyo miyazaki movies!

  • The lyrics are really beautiful.

  • This song is heartbreakingly beautiful, just like the movie itself. I was so moved during the scene where the Princess feeds Ashitaka that I almost cried.

Does anyone else agree that Princess Mononoke is just about the most amazing woman in any movie? It's not just her exceptional looks; she blends courage, ferocity, gentleness and devotion into a spirit that burns like a firebrand, untamed and vibrant. I would try hard to win her heart if she were real.

  • @AstralDragoon dude. not only would would fight for a girl like her.... and there is a girl who is so beautiful like princess mononoke and has got nearly the sme character like her. and the movie , also the characters and music are perfect. in my opinion "Princess Mononoke is better than avatar and titanic. it's like the fusion of both films. I thought that it would be never a perfect film.... but there is one.. It's called "Princess Mononoke.

  • @AstralDragoon i agree =]

that scene almost made me tear up

when ashitaka started crying =[ i was like omg! T-T

i love Ashitaka's character the most, i wish men were like him. he has such a pure, devoted, forgiving and fighting heart. i love how miyazawa designed him, Ashitaka was a great person, yet can become angry and well be really human and not rather a fictional character

  • @AstralDragoon Hey, if you can describe a girl like that, you shouldn't have a hard time winning anybody's heart!

  • @XamilleTheXrazy Thanks. :) Unfortunately, I've not yet met a woman who's inspired me the way she has.

  • @AstralDragoon Just keep looking.

  • @AstralDragoon You summed up my thoughts exactly = ]

  • @AstralDragoon agreed 100%, and if she were real, you'd have competition here lol

  • @AstralDragoon I very strongly agree with your comment. this song, the scene and above all the movie really did move me. I really did almost cry.......

  • @AstralDragoon choose your words carfully she might bit you or stab you XD or she can get you shot at... but then again I think it would be worth it ;P

  • @AstralDragoon her name isn't princess mononoke. some fan you are.

  • @KairuHakubi I knew that when i commented, but at the time, I didn't know how to spell her name, although I knew how it sounded.

  • @KairuHakubi it's not her name, but it IS her title! some fan YOU are

  • @rakimion it's nothing of the kind, you silly person. It's supposed to be 'mononoke hime,' the princess of the monsters.. not 'princess monster' >_> if you don't know the difference, go watch 'prince frog' or 'princess bride' as if those were their titles.

  • @KairuHakubi i allready knew that. but still.. the movie is called Princess Mononoke, and Lady Eboshi calls her Princess Mononoke, there fore, she id given a title from her, which is Princess Mononoke, i'm starting to belive you've havn't even seen the movie.

  • @rakimion It sounds to me like you've only seen it in english. It's not 'princess mononoke', it's Mononoke Hime. Again, that's like "The Frog Prince" story being titled "Prince Frog" it's completely misleading.. I didn't think it was so bad, but clearly you were misled.

  • @KairuHakubi accturly, i watched the japaness version first! and i KNOW her title in japan is Mononoke Hime, but gues what? I'M NOT JAPANESS! and, have you mabye thought of that i call her by her english title becous i like the sound of it betetr? and, in english you mabye but words diferently than in japan? dude, from what i hear of you, i belive you are one of thos that belives that everything you say is right, but you are NOT! so stop provoking someone cuz YOU think YOU are right!

  • @KairuHakubi yes but MONONOKE meand more Demon than monster :P so she is like "The demon princess"

  • @KairuHakubi well if we should be 100% cprrect :P mononoke meand DEMON :P not monster :P

  • @limitova I disagree. That's the more common translation, but it's extremely inaccurate in the sense of the english word 'demon' referring to an aetherial, insubstantial, evil creature, whether in the judeo-christian sense or not. It does, however, suit the original meaning of the greek word daemon, which was basically any kind of spirit.. but EVEN SO japanese monsters tend to only be -kind of- spirit-ish, it depends. Here they can clearly bleed and die, but they're mystical in their own way.

  • Hayao Miyazaki...you sir are the King. Nausicaa, Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, Howels Moving Castle, all pure gold.

  • OMG!!! i love it!!!! her voice take me breathless!!! its so beautifuly sing. all i can say is "... ... ..." *speachless* beautiful brings tears to my heart. it doesn't matter if its japanes or english its so beautiful in every way i love it. i have to say this "Haoyo Miyazuki master of animetion" thanks to all the hard workers and everyone who help put together a master peaices." thank you!! this is great! and thank you the person who upload this song! i love it! thanks

  • i love the filme

  • i like the japanese one more, but well done anyway

  • I like this version. But it's not quite as good as the original Japanese.

Hayao Miyazaki is just a god. Pure genious. He outranks any Disney film ever made. In fact, it's so much better than Disney that Disney shouldn't be in the same name as Ghibli.

I hope people can see the beauty of animation like this and realize that the human hand is superior to a computer's 3D animation.

Nothing beats the good ol' traditional way of animation. It's real art.

  • @ThylacineAli

    well said!!!!

  • This song makes me wanna cry. It's so beautiful!!!!

  • in germany u can watch it if u are 12 and something like black cat can u watch if u are 16 .__. i think that´s strange cause princess mononoke is sooo bloody more than black cat u know .__. well i don´t care <3 because i were 12 when i watches it the first time <3

    my fav anime movie <3<3

  • This doesn't quite send shivers down you like the Japanese, but it really doesn't matter what language this is in; it's still hauntingly beautiful.

  • This anime movie was my most fav when I was little and it still is. This song makes me want to dance with wolves in the moonlight.:>

  • Princess Mononoke is a masterpiece and one of my favorite films. This song... it's so hauntingly beautiful.

  • Everyone neeeds to watch all of Hayao Miyazaki's animations. They haven't lived yet unless they watched them.

  • Beautiful =D

  • woooooow *__*

    beautiful!

  • Hayao Miyazaki is the greatest of all the animationmovie creators! I visited his Ghibli museum in Tokyo a couple of months ago. If you happend to go to Tokyo someday. DONT MISS THE GHIBLI MUSEUM!

  • @Pejjo1

    I agree!!!

  • hayao miyuzaki is above disney, all his movies are amazing and bless him he dare not make a sequel to any of them.

  • THANK YOU T_T

  • This song always pulls at my heartstrings. I like this one too, but the other one without the instrumental accompinent I like better. But this is my favorite Miyazaki film ever!! All I can is both versions are pretty good.

  • dude, thx for the link. ive been looking for it everywhere...
