  • i will never forget the sacrifice made by the soldiers to keep are world a free one and i hope everyone will too. It is unfortunate though after all the sacrifices made in both WW1 and WW2 have not stopped war altogether, though with governments such as the ones this world has i doubt we will ever know true peace. But non the less my heart felt respect goes out to all the British, American and other allied forces that died to protect what every person should hold true... freedom

  • @purpledragon115 OUR world*

  • Do you know what really pisses me off. The fact that the countries who werent really involved in the war and have emigrated to countries like UK and US and have no respect whatsoever for soldiers that gave their lives during the second and first world wars. Take a look at remembrance sunday last year, where muslims against crusades were allowed to burn poppies in the faces of white, english citizens and disrespect those that have died in all campaigns. If I was there, I would have killed them.

  • @xIHurstY Also Black English citizens.

  • I would not be able to comment here if it were not, but by these brave men who died to give me the freedoms I enjoy. I hope when I die someone will say I led a good life because of their sacrafice.

  • very sad. But I think this song is made for good people who risked their lives for us. x

  • Thank you for honoring everyone(Including my grandfather) who fought in WW 2.

  • 01.09.1939 - tribute to every single fallen soldier, no matter on which front and side. We will never forget.

  • Glad to see the picture of the Canadians landing on Juno beach.

Mean's a ton to know that people still remember Canada was a leading force in World War Two.

  • This is my favorite war to study about and you ask me this war changed and impacted the world. It made the world we live in today.

  • young men are forced to commit acts by the "powers that be" unfortunately it

    still goes on

  • There is two sides too every story. The Germans,Italians and Japanese were our enemy, but it does not make them evil. Only their govt were evil and hell bent on world domination. Not their people. The soldiers are paid to do their job and not ask questions when their superior officer is wrong. War is not as back and white as people would like it to be, it's more grey than anything. Though I may not care for their Govt, I respect the common soldier of my enemy,

  • @cbritton1876 Dude, "evil" is a point of view. Have you heard of the saying "there are no rules in war". Not saying what they have done is cruel and unjust. Our allies and ourselves have commited just as many "evil" acts during war. Nobody is clean when it come to war of atrocities and crime. I believe it may be YOU that needs to read up on war crimes and atrocities of this world.

  • Comment removed

  • @cpj93070 And you are about as naive as it gets. I'm not sticking up for anyone. I'm telling you the truth and you don't seem to like it very much. The Japanaese and the Germans were in your eyes evil, but in their eyes we were evil. We would shoot surrendering soldier's for no reason other than for sport, we would rape and kill their woman also. To believe these acts didn't happen from the allie forces would be completely idiotic on ones part. Learn beyond your history books.

  • Comment removed

  • @cpj93070 Do you know who writes the history of our world and all the conflicts? The winners. They can distort it to make sure that they are the good guys and the losers are the villian. You have shown yourself to be the "brainwashed retard". This will be the last reply I make in regards to you. I feel like I'm dealing with an uneducated limey. British are so hgh and mighty, above all cruel and evil doings. What a bunch of bullshit. Got to go, it's time for noon tea. Ta,ta for now BITCH!!

  • Comment removed

  • @cpj93070 Lets talk about the "London Cage" a M119 prisoner of war facility run by the high and mighty British military. Where torture was reported, but never investigated. Yanks don't quit, unlike you damn limey ugly ass bastards. Last I checked you all pulled out of Iraq and left the US to do the rest.Photo's and newsreels from an ally point of view. Do you really thnk they are going to show you the things they were doing illegally? You really are a fucktard!!!!

  • @cbritton1876 MI19 facility

  • @cbritton1876 Hey we're not all ugly ass bastards lol.

  • @berserker276 Oh I know. I have some very good friends in England and the British Isles, but he deserved to be called that and much worse. I reallyl do have nothing but the up most respect for the people across the pond. Our countries may have started off as enemies, but we have become each others greatest allies. May god bless the United Kingdom and the United States.

  • Comment removed

  • @cpj93070 First of all it was a facility in within Iraq that the torture and dispicable acts of the US soldiers took place get your fucking facts right. Secondly, we don't deny and run away from the facts, we investigate and punish the ones responsible for them. Unlike the "London Cage" where it was nice and quietly swept under the rug and nothing came of it. Come back with something better next time. And stop swearing, you damn WANKER!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @cpj93070 YOU ARE BORING ME TO DEATH!!!!! SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!! Same old shit for four days. You've proven yourself to be nothing but arrogant and ignorant. It must be nice to live in your world where your beloved British military are gentleman and can do no wrong.

PS.To any British soldier who reads this I do not have an issue with you or what you have done for your country or for insuring my freedom here in the States. I just get tired of dumb blokes who think they know everything. Thank U.

  • Comment removed

  • @cpj93070 Ta-ta, Bitch!!! Go loot another store. By the way, YOU started this fight(and loss it). I never acted better than you. You were the one saying how perfect your soldiers were. Secondly, learn to spell and use proper grammer. It might help make your statements more believable, doubtful though. Enoy your fish'n'chips and warm nasty beer; you dumb limey bastard.

  • Comment removed

  • @cpj93070 Will you just STFU already? Threatning someone over Youtube, how bloody brilliant and brave is that? Oh by the way it's I'll not"ill", you dumb prick.

  • Comment removed

  • @cpj93070 I tried to four comments ago. Then someone decided to call me a "fat yank" and was "pussy off". Who's the pussy now?

  • Comment removed

  • @cpj93070 dude I'm from Britain and I'm starting to think you are a bit of a retard.

  • @cbritton1876 that is very true and you probably don't remember leaving this comment.

  • @SpartanSmithCommando I do remember.

  • @cbritton1876 thank you. My grandfather was prusian, he never daw his hometown again, today it's polish. Thank you for your word, i realy thank you that you don't damn my grandfather as a evil azi-monster like most peaople do. I'm sorry for what german people did in WWII. But i miss my grandpa. I really miss him. may he rest in npeast like everyone ele who served in this war...no, in this hell of a war.

  • @Shogoth64 You're welcome. May your grandfather finally be at peace as is my Grandfather who fought in the pacific campaign for the Allie forces.

  • @cbritton1876 what about the crimes thouse basterds did to p.o.w's and the jews?

  • @cpj93070 WILL YOU PLEASE JUST SHUT UP ALREADY!!!!!!! YOU LOST THIS FIGHT ALMOST A MONTH AGO. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GO THROUGH THE EMBARRASMENT AGAIN?

  • My grandfather was a Salor in the pacific theater and if it wasn't for him and many others like him none of us would have the freedoms we have today.

  • my grandfather was in signalcore and medcorps before he was transferred to 1st Canadian Para Battal. where he served on Dday. he jumped into a foxhole at one point, where a nazi soldier with a bayonett was already sitting. he stabbed grampa up the left arm, but grampa didnt take no ones shit and shot him (pistol), but felt bad about it and took the Nazi's beltbuckle, which my dad only saw once. i have grampas medals and pictures, and grandpa, rest in peace, and thankyou. thank you so much. <3

  • On this day... The battle of Iwo Jima was conquered by the USMC... Its a day to remember.

  • @HDiiNsaniTy i cant wait for June 6th to say to myself: "damn, my grandfather almost died, and i wouldn't be here." he was a paratrooper in the 1st Canadian Para Battalion, and was in medcorps and signal core before that. he's my hero. but i never met him as he died in 1977 at my dad's hockey game. i pledged myself to join the army when a REAL war breaks out. not all this middle-east crap. my grandpa lived, as well as all my servicing family. Uncles: Leopold, Bruno,Billy,Mike,Charlie. + more :)

  • @CelticWizard113 Great story. Not in a bad way. Im very sorry for your loss. ):

  • @HDiiNsaniTy thanks. that means a lot to me. i just watched band of brothers dday drop scene, and he jumped that night (june 5th). scary stuff. :P

  • @CelticWizard113 Oh yeah man. Just to think that one of those tracers has your name on it.

  • @HDiiNsaniTy yeah i hope the next call of duty or medal of honor has a parachute dday beginning, cuz the beachhead is awesome, but overdone, to be honest. i love the wwii games because they're a lot better than the modern warfare story, and they actually let you fell a bit heroic and like your part of something that matters.

  • @CelticWizard113 Yeah Brothers in Arms is all about the Airbourne... :)

  • @HDiiNsaniTy i'm guessing 101st airbourne/screaming eagles? they're cool but to be honest they're kinda overdone hahaha, which brothers in arms is the latest and should i rent or buy?

  • @CelticWizard113 Brother in Arms Hells Highway. :)

  • In a war there aren't unwounded soldiers.

  • True heroes never die. They just fall back to regroup

  • we gotta respect all the soldier who fought in war

  • My Grandfather fought in World War II Battle of the Bulge it was called. He Got to come back home unlike 60 million others. They all deserve respect for the blood, pain and lives that were lost and almost lost. They and The ones now are what keeps this country free!! Hats off to everyone in the military past and present

  • evil leader*

  • @Tributevideo You know not every german soldier did those things during the second world war, right? they did their share of good deeds as well. And the allies that fought for your freedom did their share of BAD deeds aswell. In war you have to pick the lesser of two evils. There is no black and white, just different shades of black.

  • @TheImmortalWeapon This is Tributevideo on my main account, and this video is a tribute to those who fought for our freedom... Not for all the soldiers in the war.

  • @Necramoniumdotcom i'd say there were less than one percent of the entire soldiers that fought in that war that were actually fighting for freedom. On the battlefield you don't care about freedom, you are trying to survive. I'd say almost all the "heroes" of the war would have been the first ones to go home had the opertunity presented itself. I know there were genuine heroes in the war and im not taking away from them (or any of the other soldiers) im just saying they fought cause the had to

  • @Tributevideo I agree with you somewhat, Sure there was cruelty, not all German soilders were Nazi's. Some were simply fighting for there country, as we did. They had families, Lifes, I bet most of them didn't even hate Jews. They Deserve respect also. I wouldn't call them heroes because they were the enemy. But they have been living with what they have done for over 60 years. Show them respect and forgive.

We have done some cruel things also..

  • @Tributevideo Not all German soldiers were supporting the nazis and their death camps, some of the SS were even seminarians!!!!!(Drafted of course) and the Wehrmacht was not politically involved, they just followed their governments orders and as far as I know were not part of the death camp crap, the Wehrmacht does deserve respect and tribute, the SS are the ones to be hated and shamed

  • @Tributevideo

What the Germans did back then is horrible and nothing can justify the holocaust, but in my opinion it's unfair of you to say that you don't have sympathy left for the Germans. Most Germans were just normal people like you and me. And this generation of Germans is not responsible for the horrible deeds of some of the Germans in World War II. As a matter of fact, I know some Germans and they are really nice people.

But on-topic: Really nice tribute, thank you for this.

  • i have a strange feeling of conection to the world war 2 era its and uncontrollable feeling i get sometimes i have dreams of events in such detail it scares me, its strange

  • @Vmann12378 That could mean something from your previous life... Look into it, maybe you served in WWII in a previous life. My uncle had dreams about being in battle in the 18th century...

  • @Necramoniumdotcom Previous my life. No such thing exists.

  • @88greenberet A good video that covers my point is called "Misandry - Men Don't Exist".

  • @88greenberet but anytime women were part of military casualties then we say "the men and women who lost their lives."

but when it was just men who were the casualties we say "the soldiers who lost their lives"

This is the point I am trying to make, anytime only men suffered from an event we cover this fact up by labeling men by their gender neutral titles.

  • @88greenberet Your missing the point.

Anytime when men make up the majroity or all of the victims we are given gender neutral titles.

All the millions of men that died fighting in that war were given the gender neutral title of soldiers to disguise the fact that only men fought and died.

Same with mining accidents, and other areas where only men are affected.

but anytime women were part of military casualties then we say "the men and women who lost their lives"

  • For those looking for meaning to my malice then watch the videos "Equality - War", all 3 parts of the series.

  • It was only men that fought and died in World War II and they suffered by the millions, so call them what they are; men.

  • @ManSpeakOut Obviously you've never seen "Carve HER name with pride", plenty of women fought & died in ww2, with the soviet forces, various resistance groups, and Crown / Commenwealth forces. Deal with it youy're wrong.

  • If you want to make this video accurate, call the men, men that that fought and died in that war and not call them by their gender neutral title.

That is a big trend in history, anytime men suffer at all we are only labeled by our gender neutral titles. Such as: people, casualties, miners, soldiers and so on.

I am tired of men's suffering being belittled.

  • Check out the book MY COUSIN KILLED HITLER, based on the story of Marshal Zhukov. It tells a family secret about him. If only Hitler knew that one of those he hunted became the hunter instead.

  • @Tributevideo and if u didnt fight as a german nazi if you were german im sure you were killed. or imprisoned.

  • Not to come off as a nazi sympathiser which I am not in any way shape or form

but alot of the Wermarcht were decent people fighting for their people( an admirable feat for a person anywhere to do) not politics.and for those who so loudly go on about allies fighting for freedom the us had their own jap- american concentration camps while the brits had still held their empire aginst the will of many native people.War is shit for all soldiers .its the politicians who win and lose not grunts

  • OHH-RAH SEMPER FI MARINES

  • About 5 million good german soldiers of the Wehrmacht were killed fighting for Germany, they were so much like our soldiers, only in a different uniform, and fighting for a different cause. Many didn't agree with the war, and many were forced to fight for something they didn't want to. They deserve just as much respect as we give our soldiers. The SS on the other hand are, scum, and I couldn't care less about them. R.I.P to the soldiers of the allies and the Wehrmacht.

  • @Robb389 That is something we all can agree on.

  • @Robb389 i dont mean to be racist, i mean, i do love germans, but how could anyone say they were like us and say they were honourable. the movie 'schindler's list' totally backs up what im trying to say, 99% of that movie was true, and anyone would have to be stupid to say that was honourable.

  • @lachlanthelunatic After WWI German was broke up and lost most of it's own land. Most fought to preserve their country and restore it, they had little choice in the matter.

  • @PROkiller16 that has nothing to do with what im trying to say. im saying that they were not honourable, the slaughtered jews for fun, we didn't do anything close to that.

  • @lachlanthelunatic They were the SS. Even then not all of the SS did. But look at Russian, they swept across Eastern Europe and destoried or killed anything German. American in Vietnam burning and blowing everything up. Each side had villians but the loser bears the name.

  • @PROkiller16 well for starters, the americans and aussies lost the vietnam war. seconds, maybe the russians did kill anything german, but they protected anything allied or jew. the germans were maybe respectful and honourable to the allies and to themselves, but when you are jewish, its a whole other story.

  • @lachlanthelunatic Not all of them were like it, even then most were brought up that way so it's nto really there fault for being taught to hate certain people. An entire generation were taught to hate Jews because of their relgion by one bastard.

  • @PROkiller16 exactly, i never said things weren't like that, i just said that they were not honourable, and from what you and me just said, it seems to be that way.

  • @lachlanthelunatic How were they dishonourable? Last time I check honour was protecting your homeland.

  • @PROkiller16 honour is what you just said, PLUS respecting war and your opponent, for example: the battle of Gallipipi i have watched a documentary on it. the ANZACS and the turks were killing each other, yes, but heavily respected each other, not treat each other like dogs, sometimes there would be a turkish solider who would go out and collect supplies in "no-mans-land" and the aussies and kiwis would not shoot, now that is being honourable.

  • @lachlanthelunatic Yes. Now half of the German Wehrmacht wouldn't show such things but most soldiers of the Heer were just soldier.

  • Soon no one will be left to tell in person what really happened....God bless each and every soldier!

  • this is so beautiful. please watch my ww2 tribute! i worked so hard on it! just search my username

  • @Tributevideo

Many Many German soldiers were doing exactly the same as UK, USA, Canadian, Australian, French Soldiers did, Following orders and fighting for there country. The despicable acts you speak of were carried out by a few and we should never forget what suffering and pain they caused.

Please don't think ALL Germans agreed with this as they didn't & the normal German Soldier Died for his country as did my Grandfather who was a very proud Englishman.

  • @Tributevideo my grandfathers sister was tortured!! I have no sympathy for them either... some of the things that they did to her is not only sick, but inhumane!

  • Thank you for this video. My grandfather was killed in Germany two weeks before the war ended. Though I have never met him, I have always loved him and had respect for his sacrifice. He was 28 years old when he died . He left behind a wife and two young daughters, one of which is my mother. Thank God for the men and women who fight to protect our freedom and our country. The greatest tragedy is that we forget. God Bless America! In Memory of PVT. 1st Class Woodrow Wilson Keatts

  • memory R.I.P pour tout les soldats tombé.

  • We must never forget those that lost there lives for family, friends, you, me, every one. We must not forget even the Germans or any of the ones we fought. Because wore they not fighting for there country, there family, there friends?

  • @historian1940 haha no. The germans were fighting for their beloved fuhrer.

  • @strongman325 They fought for there country also some yes for Hitler but maybe you are just blind and cant see that.

  • @strongman325

No, you're wrong. The German were fighting for their country just as the Allied forces were. The Nazis were fighting for their beloved Fuhrer. The Germans soldiers at this time were being fed lies. Lies of future hopes and dreams. Any WW2 veteran, would gladly tell you how the German soldiers knew nothing about what went on behind those camps. After the war, captured German soldiers were brought to these camps and shown what WAS going on.

  • @distortedeskimos Really? First research the Wola and Ochota Massacre. Then research Wehrmacht war crimes, and SS war crimes, and you'll see that a very high percentage of soldiers and people supported this. Don't fall for these german lies where they blame everything on Hitler. The nazis won in a democratic election and Hitler made no attempt in hiding the fact that he was killing the jews. He said "we must exterminate the jews", thats pretty obvious. Nobody was being fed lies.

  • @strongman325

Wrong. The maximum support that the nazi had was 44% fo the parliament, before the Reichstag was burned by them. So the nazis gave a coup.

Very few german civilians knew what was going on the concentration camps, because in majority the SS was the responsible of the death camps and there was some caution because Hitler did not want that the extermination of jews came on public concern within the UK and other allies. So the extermination of jews weren't wide spread among civ.

  • @afaaviator Once again, Hitler openly publicized the extermination of the jews, either the Germans knew, they ignored it, or they were complete morons, take your pick.

  • @distortedeskimos The German soldiers and people knew exactly what was going on, because many of them were guards, and many of them committed the same war crimes on the battlefield and in occupied countries as in the camps. So please, do some research before you post uneducated opinions.

  • @Tributevideo Belive me, in hiroshima and Nagasaki, people do not have much sympathy too for the united states, however, God bless every soldier on any nation who his intention was to fight for life, family, comrades and friends.

  • That generation accomplished more then my sorry ass generation could.

Back then young people still had pride in their country and backed it up, elders urged you to do you for your country and community.

My generation its all about the individual, thinking your famous, bunch of self important pains in the ass not realizing how insignificant we are. not giving a fuck about the past sacrifices people made for this county.

What I would give to have been born 65 years ago.

  • @pokertom42191 I feel exactly the same way my friend...

  • @pokertom42191 even 65 years ago was fucked up. you could take a life by just the pull of a finger, you could die at any second, and you could never see it coming. more like 2000 years ago was the place/time to live.

  • :( everyones granpy who died im so sorry to hear that, but even when there gone you can still love them in your hearts.

  • god bless those people :((((((((((((((((((((

  • world war II would not of happened if hitler wasnt alive :(

  • it probably would have, he wasnt the only one who thought that way

  • world war II is a prime example of humans ability to wage war. This war has been fought many time through out history. This war will be fought again except when this happens it will be on a much larger scale and even more people will die.

  • sie liegen im westen und osten,

sie liegen in aller welt, und ihre helme verrosten und kreuz und hügel zerfällt.

  • for heavens sake, lets just get around a table to discuss our problems next time.I thank and pray for all the brave men, and women, who fought and sometimes paid the untimate price for our freedom.

    God bless you,alise we forget

  • they died for our freedom

My God 50 million people because of one madman

    damn, hard to understand

    God bless to all people

  • Today is the eleventh day of the eleventh month. The eleventh hour is past.

    So is my father.

He was hard to love, but I know he loved me.

    He was there.

  • I just wish that someday if a war erupts (which i dont wish to happen) the politicians that started the war would also fight. Then they would see the horror their actions cause ... 5/5 beautifull video

  • Rest in Peace Aapori Kurola who fought in SS-Wiking division and bravely defending Germany. R.I.P Grandfather.

  • Remembering Harry Walters who fought at El Alamein. My beloved grandad. I'm proud of who you were and what you did.

  • its crazy both my grandfathers fought and so did there brothers and if you didnt serve it was looked down upon crazy? Now you have people who hate america and complain everyday about our govt. its a sad generation thats is dying off very sad these men were and always will be heroes and men of the greatest generation.

  • @ab81wyy I dont hate America. America was our ally in the Second World War. Wars are horrible but sometimes they have to be fought. They just have to be.1940 gave my country its 'finest hour'. It was Churchill's insight and genius that recognised that.Though the odds were stacked against us we decided to fight on. Even if we had lost it would have been the right decision. And any American who had relatives who fought in WW2 can be proud. They too did the right thing. We can do no more than that.

  • mt m 8s great grand dad fought in WWII and WWI R.I.P grandad peters

  • my gerat grandfather Walter Franklin Hurt servered in WWII and later died

  • My grandfather was on a island During ww II. He did not Fight but Served. He died about 3 or 4 years ago, Love you G-Paw

  • amen Dutchmanticore

  • I wish I were born in the 1920's. My generations's trash and so were the baby boomers. 26 year old Mil Vet.

  • @sapher2020 I agree. I wish I was too. I just turned 14. I really wish my grandpa and grandma were still alive. Because the generation I live in is pure trash. My grandpa was a B-29 Pilot, and his best friend was a B-29 Pilot too. Thank You Veterans.

  • @TheAnastasiaLee I disagree with you and sapher2020. I just turned 14 myself. And I think that every generation is different. Obviously you, me and the men fighting for our country right now are not "pure trash"..... so just keep that in mind, and I am sorry about your grandparents.

  • @blazeyblazer No, they aren't trash, the general public, and the economy, and the lady gaga fans are trash.

  • @TheAnastasiaLee haha ok maybe your right on that one

  • @blazeyblazer Oh, my grandpa didn't die during the war, he died 20 years later of a heart attack, his friend is 91 or so, and we keep in touch. We still have his medals.

  • The horrible thing about fascism (and communism for that matter) is that it ties an entire people up in itself. All persons held each other in a strangle hold, afraid that if he let go the others might finish him. Every person was to blame, and at the same time, no one was to blame (except for the few true sociopaths who ran the Nazi party). In any case, most of the German soldiers who fought in the war did the same thing the Allied soldiers did. They fought when ordered to fight.

  • People should read the video description of video first:this video is a tribute to those who fought for our freedom.

  • you forgot put here and capitalism

  • God Bless all the soldiers on all sides, its the politicians that NEED TO BE SHOT

  • easy words twentyfivers.....

  • some germans were drafted into the German Army. The SS where the evil nazis

  • all wars are a waste of space on all sides a better ideal would have been to stick hitler stalin churchill and roosvelt in a boxing ring.

  • LOL

  • why do you show only allied forces ?? German soliders also died !!!

  • the Nazi forces deserved to die for what they where doing, the allies where fighting for the freedoms we have today in Canada and the US

  • not all Nazis were bad, they would have been shot if they refused to join the war. it was tough for both sides.

  • Rofl I like how a lot of people think that the entire german population supported the Nazis'.

THey dont'even know about the immense resistance that was going on. Der Spiegel was a rebel newspaper, it's german founders and producers were hunted 24/7 by the Nazis.

    Don't be a ignorant tool.

Every soldier that dies in a war is one too many. Not just the american ones. Bighead.

  • @Kuppi1992: german are assholes

  • @Achmed1234567

You're an asshole. Germans were just as brave, and honorable as Allied forces were. It was the Nazis who were assholes. Its people like you who are too blind to even research before you come to a conclusion. You sir, are the asshole. You can't just point fingers like an immature 6 year old.

  • @Kuppi1992 The Hymn for the Fallen was composed to honour the British mainly.

  • @Kuppi1992 Yes but they were scum who murdered and raped millions of innocent people. They deserve nothing but to burn in hell.

  • @Kuppi1992 because its for America's fallen soldiers

  • @Kuppi1992 German should go hell

  • @Kuppi1992 I am canadian but i do feel that the germans that died should be remembered as well as our troops because the germans were just following a leader that told them killing millions and taking over Europe might help their counrty have better wealth

  • @Gamer11707 Brutality and savagery was not "just following orders", you are Canadian, so naturally you have sympathy for the German soldiers. But here in Eastern Europe, where the regular German soldiers raped innocent women and little girls, and slaughtered millions(many of which were at random or for fun) we tend to have zero sympathy for the German soldiers.

  • @strongman325 Russians did the same thing.....

  • @duneranger They did the same thing to Germans yes. And no it wasn't "Russians", it was in this case the regime. The SOVIET soldiers were just as brutally treated by their regime as the Germans. During the Battle of Stalingrad over 13,000 Soviet soldiers were executed by the Soviet government for being "defeatists"(i.e panicking, retreating, etc..). There were special NKVD Divisions behind the regular army that were there to shoot anyone who panicked or retreated.

  • @duneranger The Soviet camps didn't target a specific ethnicity, it imprisoned everyone from POW's to Soviet citizens accused of being spies for no reason. The Germans got what they deserved. They went into Russia with extreme arrogance, brutally murdered around 15 million innocent civilians, attempted to wipe out the Russians, and burned half fo their country to the ground Did they expect the Soviets to just forget about it? Every captured German soldier should have been killed after ww2.

  • @strongman325 Woah woah every captured soldier executed WTH You can't attribute EVERY German soldier to a war criminal. You tend to ignore the fact that somewhere between 30-40% of all Germans born in 1946 had Russian fathers...Why? Brutal rapes and killings after Germany surrendered. The Soviet soldiers were just as bloodthirsty as the Germans which is why the Western allies never really trusted them and the Cold War was started. You can't pardon Soviet violence...violence is violence.

  • @duneranger I didn't pardon Soviet violence boy, nor did I justify it. Katyn Massacre, case and point. However most of the organized violence was not just againsy the Germans, it was against the Soviet citizens and soldiers themselves, they were also victims. Don't belive me, look it up. Once again, the Germans deserved what they got. I'm not going to write you a novel about the atrocities committed by German soldiers, you can look it up yourself.

  • @duneranger I understand you, Germany wasn't aggressor to your nation for hundreds of years. Germany didn't try to exterminate your people. They didn't round up your people by the hundreds for every dead German and machine gun them on the spot. They didn't burn your country to the ground. So you do not understand where I come from, you will never understand, you simply have a viewpoint. In a way it's good that you see the good in people, but you have not experienced the evil in them.

  • @strongman325 Maybe, but we did lose hundreds of thousands fighting in a European war that didn't concern us so that countries like Poland could be free. I look at the individual soldier, the conscript German soldier who got wrapped up in a sense of nationalism after the US and the allied nations deprived Germany economically after WW1. Or the soldier forced to join simply because eh was German. It's not like you had a choice.

  • @strongman325 But meh your a Pole, you guys got dominated hardcore by the Germans so I can't expect you to be rational.

  • @duneranger Typical response who is uneducated about history. Poland fought for 5 weeks, and it fought against 2 major countries, Germany and the Soviet Union. It was ill-equipped and unprepared yet it fought as best as it could, outnumbered and outgunned. Ex: Battle of Wizna, Battle of Westerplatte, Battle of Bzura, and more. Germany outnumbered Poland 2:1 in soldiers almost 3:1 in guns(i.e artillery), 3:1 in tanks, and 6:1 in aircraft.

  • @strongman325 Haha I am very educated about almost all aspects of WW2 military history. The Germans were better, that's it. They perfected tank warfare and the now famous "Blitzkrieg" Nations all around the world still use Erwin Rommel's teachings...Cmon now if the Sudetenland and Austria didn't scream aggression.I don't know what does...Poland must of been sleeping if they didn't expect an invasion. Or they were just inept.. Remember Germany was not big of a country yet they held the world off

  • @duneranger They did expect and invasion and they prepared for it. They built forts, but they weren't expected to be completed until 1942. That's why they created Plan West. 1 year is not enough to transfrom a nation into a superpower. Poland was war-torn and wanted to build it's country first, not a big military. Germans were much better equipped, that is true, that doesn't means they were always better in tactics. Ex: Warsaw Uprising 1944, Batte of Wizna, Battle of Westerplatte.

  • @duneranger Erwin Rommel did not support Hitler, he ignored Hitler's orders to kill captured Jews and commandos. His forces always treated POW's the way they should be treated. He took part in the July plot. And he is one of the few Germans that deserves respect and has earned my respect, but there were very few.

  • @strongman325

I don't get why Germans thought they would win.

Soviet forces = over 1 billion. After losing 20 million, that's still a fighting force of 80 million capable soldiers. All trained 2x the effiency of Nazi soldiers.

The Wehrmact was doomed when Hitler ordered the attack on Moscow to retreat to Crimea. Well, not "retreat" as such, but move and regroup with his forces in Crimea. Because they were "slow."

If Hitler hadn't done that, we would've all died.

    Glory to our fallen soldiers.

  • @WolfytheWolf5667 I think you meant 100 million? The Soviets conscripted 32 million men. And the Germans did have a very good chance of winning, and if Hitler had not butted in they probably would have won. Hitler made many mistakes which allowed the Soviets to reorganize and make use of the huge amount of fighting potential they had.

  • @strongman325

Yes I did mean 100 million. Thank you for correcting me. I had a hard day and thought 90 million + 10 million = 1 billion.

But to be honest, the war was lost for Nazi Germany on 1941 when Hitler moved his forces.

    Because he was a TWAT!
