  • this make me proud to be from Sweden and Karlskoga ;)

  • where can i get one of these hand guns?

  • It's kinda funny we're this capable of building cannons considering we haven't been to war for a couple of hundred years.

  • Bofors was started by Alfred Nobel, peace. :-D

  • It´s not "live" ammo. Barrel has to move backward aprox. 200mm to get reloud new ammo. Safety range up to 4 km/ 3miles. All anti-aircraftammunition has a self destroying bullet. It meens you aint get it back to your own neck and shoot this in out of the warfield or "real" military shooting needs spesial arrangements.

  • I want one!

where did you guys get the rounds for that?

  • Now that looks like a fun way to spend the day with your mates...

  • this makes me proud to be a Swede!! =)

  • why? idiot

  • because bofors is swedish! idiot

  • Bofors is the best anti-aircraft gun,Therefore,i,m puzzled why Japan Navy didn't use bofors as the main and low attitude air defense, instead, they adopted inferior triple-mounted, 25mm French design as the sole low and mid attitude air defense. Also, Germany made the same fatal mistake that they used indigenous,quadruple-mounted 20mmand 37mm single mounted; both are still course far superior than Japanese's but are lag behind Befors. there is a big cap in mid,high-low attiude air defense,

  • Japan was axis sided during the war. That's why.

  • It doesn't matter Swede will sell everything to anyone who has money-Sweden is major iron ore supplier to German . Germany did acquire a small of Bofors for evaluation and gave it full endorsement but due to German pride, it adopted domestic designs which are much superior than Japanese triple 25mm but are inferior to 40 mm Bofor. In fact, you watch WWII documentary, you could spot Befors 40mm in German service.

  • The only reason the germans may have had the 40mm in any quantity would have to be that they've either confiscated or captured them. THey had their own version of it too i think...

The funny thing is though, for inferior, the 3x25mm worked quite well. A service comparable to the US 1.1 inch mounted in fours. Their only problem really is stopping power. It'll swat down anything that's big, but high speed and well armored strike fighters spelled it's demise. As with most naval AA of it's era.

  • The triple mount 3x25 rate of fire is very poor;on paper it said 600 rounds combined but according to Japanese war history books, it only delivers roughly over 250+ something + combined and the has to be stop firing when it is fed and the magazine holding only 10 rounds ;the 40mm befors can be firing continuously while being fed 5 rounds clips. On the other hand, it close rival, 20mm gun can hold 20rounds to 30rounds drum at a faster F rate.

  • Yeah, but it's still not bad. Read up on some of the firsthand accounts of it. It's actually designed closer to something of a modern Cwis role to deal with aircraft. Low-fast flying aircraft, nothing like strike fighter and dive bomber aircraft. Remember, it's japan. Their ideas are weird.

As a matter of fact, it's land based reccords against aircraft are superb. Any gun can shoot down a bomber or fighter, but the 25mmx3 Literally saws through things.

  • during war i don't tihnk they purposely let thier enemies know what weapons they use. If they did, So many adaptations of each other's weapons would have been made. which we do not see.
