I was hoping this cast would be good, thank goodness most of them were!

I didn't know what to expect about Nicole as Maureen, but she ended up being fantastic! I was so surprised. I mean, I knew she was talented, but not THAT talented. Vanessa on the other hand.. I mean, she wasn't awful, but they could have easily found someone better for the part. Skylar Astin is just all around amazing, one of my absolute favorite Marks. And Aaron Tveit... need I say anything? Amazing :D

Nicole was a great surprise. Who knew she has such range and stage presence. As for Vanessa, her voice was okay. She tried, but she clearly had a hard time with "out tonight" and just being believable as the drug addict, exotic dancing role of Mimi. The guy who played Roger (Aaron Tveit, I believe) was just phenomenal. He blew me away as soon as he started to sing. It's no wonder he is a broadway vet.

@newagesoapopera1 she was also part of the final broadway cast as rent was ending its run in new york.  i saw her in the LA for the rent national tour, she was amazing! i have no doubt she'll be just as great in this production.

oh and if you want, you can check out "Rent: filmed live on broadway," in which they taped the final broadway performance. closest thing to the actual live show you'll get! :)

She recently went on tour with the show with Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp, fellow OBC members. She plays the same role on the DVD RENT: Filmed Live on Broadway. I've seen her perform, and she is OUTSTANDING!
