I like that he says he wants to change the date of the election. I don't like that he's a liar and will do NOTHING about the election process if elected.

I like that he responded and wants to do something about our fixed voting system. I don't like how he was reading what he said, and that it sounded as if it was his first time reading it. Richardson is a good man, but I think Edwards and Kucinich are the only ones that aren't beholden to special interests. So I am deciding between those two.

Why the Founding Fathers declared the first Tuesday after Nov 1st "Election Day":
Since there was no TV or radio news in 1776, the primary source for news was the local weekday paper, friends in town or people at work, reminding them of election day. Today, we don't depend on word of mouth to be reminded of Election Day.
As for making Election Day a holiday, never did the Founders imagine that it might take all day for people to cast their vote due to restrictions or lack of voting machines.

Richardson is proving to be a straight-shooter with a lot of insight in a lot of issues, including Iraq, No Child Left Behind, Health Insurance, and now Voting Rights. People should sit up and take notice! I hate to upset you Richardson fans, but I think he would make a great vice presidential candidate for whoever gets the nomination to head the ticket. I would rather have Richardson "reinvent government" than Al Gore.
