Hi i'm 16 from Ottawa and i've been surfing for 4 years, but i only get to surf for 2 weeks a year. Ever since my first wave i've been hooked! I'd like to get into the surf scene in Ottawa but really have no idea what i need, or where the good spots are. I ride a 6'0 7S Superfish would that board be good for this? do you guys wear leashes? what thickness of a wetsuit would I need? and what happens when you wipeout or kick out from the wave? I NEED TO SURF!! thanks- Andrew
@agscottsurf E-mail me in April next year and we'll hook up. The wave is only good for a a few weeks each year during spring run off. Your board sounds fine, but you'll need full suit (4 mm or more), hood, boots and gloves. Leash as well.
@sunsetkid6 -- To answer your questions, the Quebec wave is Parc Moussette. Generally, all of these waves are only good if there is spring runoff. Last year because of el nino we had no snow and no runoff, so no surfing. 2009 spring, as shown in the video, was a totally different story...
hey, I live in Ottawa, and have done now for 2 years. . . and I have missed to spring seasons of surfing these waves. damn.
I went to look at the champlain bridge today but it was way to small, is there any where else at this time i could get in? long time surfer in desperate need.

if u felll could u drown from the current?

@infinitywardfan -- Highly unlikely. The current is strong, but there are lots of opportunities to swim over to shore.

Hey,
Just got back from Indo and i'm in need of a surf. Any chance the spots are working? QC or ONT sides?
Would be keen to meet up to be shown how river surfing works.
Thanks
