I'm not sure who said it, but it is right on the money. If you remove fraud from the American business model you would have nothing left but porn and donuts. Spin and tweaking of facts to make oneself look good go with the territory of politics, but I've never understood cases where politicians lie so blatantly and unnecessarily about things that can be so instantly and conclusively proven false. This is a great and incomprehensible example of that. "Maverick" was practically the leitmotiv of McCain's entire campaign 2 years ago. There is no conceivable interpretation of reality to the contrary.
