Yes the djembe is played by a friend who recorded it for another song we were working on. For the most part it is a looped sample, that is why it sounds like that. It was also pitched up because the tempo of his original recording was much slower. The djembe is usually quite bassy. I can't play djembe so well myself, LOL.
If you ever come to the states I can get you a gig...Reggae Tuesdays...I'm tight with the house band for that night (Ithaca Dub Allstars) and there's no doubt that you would dig playing there so...hehe yeah.
hehe, thanks Erin. I might be in either Mexico or Peru for a while this autumn. I wouldn't mind visiting the US but they probably won't let me in. It gives me a headache thinking about how much work it would take to put together a whole hour of original material for a gig. I'm such a lazy ****.
