@icrazyhpk I disagree, disney portrayed the famous long blonde, as a curse, thats the story line so the solution to give her happiness is to give her the opposite to what she was forced to live with for 18 years... I LOVE this movie!! :D

@christytheawesome I totally agree with you! I was actually wondering at the start of the movie why none of the Disney princesses have short hair (except for maybe sort of Mulan, but not really). Then came the ending. Made me glee so much.

I was very sceptical to the movie, before I saw it. I had been sceptical since Disney came out with that they wanted to make a rapunzelmovie with 3D animation, and not the old 2D. Because I wanted that a new princessmovie should be made in 2D. But I have to say, that after watching the movie; I LOVE IT!!! I love the whole movie. Disney have done a great thing right here. But I hope they still will make the old 2D!

I've heard some critics referring to this and Princess and the Frog (but more this) as being a "Neo-Classical" feel of DIsney.

Well, there was the Classics, The Golden Age, the Dark Age, the Renaissance and the Post-Renaissance.

I vote that the new era- if the films continue to stay this true- to be the Neo-Classical era!

@TheWonderDogJack Well, Mandy *is* a pop singer, and Alan Menken says he always writes the songs for the Disney movies so that the person who will be singing it will sound as good as possible, so I think it's only natural that Rapunzel's song is a bit pop-esque. :)

I was expecting her to sound like a character more than herself, so I was surprised. I guess I expected a more Lea Salonga, Jodi Benson, Paige O'Hara kind of theater/character voice.

Alan Menken talked about the fact that the soundtrack has more of a pop feel than the usual "musical" feel in an interview, here: insidemovies.ew.com/2010/11/24­/alan-menken-tangled/ . Also, the fact that they absolutely avoided the "musical" aspect during promotion says a lot about why the music sounds like it does, I think. All about sales. Though, I do think that the pop vocals suit Rapunzel's youth and innocence. :)
