  • That's too funny. My greyhound gets half way across the kitchen floor, then turns around and backs in the rest of the way.

  • Snowy's so cute. When we first had our rescue greyhound he ran up the stairs and didn't know to come down them. So my husband taught him! Now he races up and down them like a little hoolie.

  • A greyhound would never see them when they are racers, so they wouldn't see them until they were 2, 3 or more years old.

Some can never cope with them.

  • Cute! I have a theory: are greyhounds never exposed to stairs? Maybe that's why he didn't know how to climb them.

  • Unbelievable. I owned Snowy when he raced at Monmore Green and found him what I thought was a good home when he retired. Obviously something went wrong there. Thank you both for looking after him in his final years. It is a relief to know he was loved and looked after.

  • Man, those stairs sure are scary. Maybe if I don't look directly at them.

  • Snowy you were wonderful! So sorry to hear you also lost Honcho (saw them both on Doggysnaps). Run free at Rainbow Bridge both of you - you were both really handsome lads.

  • Thanks for sharing! We have three greyhounds and they are fabulous and so funny.

  • Its natural considerin he's a Pet

  • He was quite slim bless him, the one we have now is around 9kg heavier without an ounce of fat on him. They have a fast metabolism, so they eat plenty and stay thin - wish I could.

  • I train racing greyhounds, this one looks perfectly healthy

  • I get ya

  • @weimaranergirl greyhounds are supposed to be skinny like that. it's how they are built and if they get too heavy it is extremely bad for their joints and can be very dangerous.

  • Haha thats funny!!! Aren't Greyhounds Greyt? I just made a tribute video to mine!

  • sadly some greyhounds are used to chase and kill kangaroos in oz

  • you should see my greyhounds on the stairs they basically JUMP down them crazy pair... but thats just crazy going backwards...

  • i agree completely :)

  • how cute and talented! And she figured that out on her own? They are such smart dogs!

  • We have two greyhounds and lost nathird to osteosarcoma! Snowy was so clever to figure that out! I,too, am sorry to hear that Snowy had to be put down. That is the hardest part of having pet, but the good things outweigh the bad!

  • Thanks for the comments, you have to do what's best for their quality of life. We have another greyhound now who is an absolute lunatic and keeps us constantly amused:-)

  • After we lost our first greyhound, Jack, we went right out & adopted two girls, Lizzie and Dickens! They are both nutty, and we love them to pieces! We also have apit mix, lucy, who is getting on but still pretty spry! What is your new greyhound's name??

  • His name is Honcho, he's a gorgeous blue and white lad. We're just moving house at the moment, I hope once he's settled that we can get him a greyhound girlfriend.

  • he it is me again, i went to the greyhound rescue and this saturday i am adopting a greyhound called chloe , she is a blue bitch and she is lovely

i will post a video of her on saturday

  • Nice one, you won't regret it they're great dogs.

  • i am thinking of getting a greyhound ,would you reccomend one?

  • Definitely, I've had a few different breeds and they all have their own quirks, but I'd never have anything other than a greyhound now. We now have our second one and he's fab. Go along to your local greyhound rescue, there's plenty of them sadly and just take some for a walk and see what you think.

  • i have posted some videos of the leicdter game, thanks for the info

  • thanks

  • Yes. We had two retired racers. Sweetest waggyfaces.

  • What a wonderful dog. Im so sorry you have had to part with him. Its so good that you keep the great memories though. Thats something that no one can ever take away.

  • I hope our two galgo's never figure out how to climb the stairs - we wouldn't have our bed for ourselves anymore! Sorry to hear Snowy died - can't imagine living without Arlo and Rique (i've posted some movies on them too on YouTube). Thanks for the good laugh, though!

  • Cute dog, sorry to hear he died. My greyhound had a hard time with stairs too, he just jumped over all of them all until my other dogs (dalmation and doberman) showed him how to do it.

  • That was very funny! I'm very sorry you lost him. We lost our Dinsdale back in April of this year. He only ever went up the stairs frontwards.

  • I also saw that poor Snowy had died on doggysnaps. He looks so sweet. Kevin just hops up the stairs two at a time O.o

  • Excellent, I had to carry mine upstairs for 3 weeks until she figured it out herself... forwards though.

  • I saw that poor snowy had died on doggysnaps. He looked wonderful, and what a character going up the stairs backwards. Mine just refuse.
