I went to this university. I was a member of Oxford Brookes college and can recommend it as a first class environment to study for a Communications Degree.
When Charles Darwin wrote of the dreaming spires of Oxford, he was thinking of Brookes.
@redtedinbed Ah St. Brookes, my old beloved Alma Mater ! In my humble opinion, the finest ancient college of Oxford University ! Balliol, Christ Church, Trinity and University College will never surpass you !
Ahh! I remember Alma Mater. Big girl. Honary member of the Bullingdon Club by virtue of having a bigger penis than any other club member. I think in later life she became Anne Widecombe.
I want to apply for an undergrad...law to be specific...AND i will be applying as an international student...(Canada)...how bad is it? Am I wishing for the unattainable? lay it on me guys..what do you think?...do I need to snap out of it...or is there a chance I will be at least considered..?
Of course you'd be considered if you're good enough academically, they can't be biased against you on any other grounds. Besides, Oxford love international students as they get to charge them lots of money...
I am doing A levels and you kinda need 3-4 As to get there, but the subjects I am doing like ICT and stuff is rubbish and getting A in these subjects is impossible because ICT on its own is a very easy subject but to make it hard the examiners have put some stupid marks in some stupid hidden places so it is impossible to get them - that's why I just thing the Oxford University's requirements are very high (if not impossible).
I guess it depends which department you're applying at. They should say the average number of applicants on the graduate pages of the website.. I thought I'd never go in, I applied just to see without thinking I'd ever get in.. and I got an offer! So give it a chance :) nothing to loose and so much to earn!
Come on, don't be so fatalistic. If you do well in studies now, you could still go there to get a postgraduate degree, or another undergraduate degree?
No you don't. The average student has 6A*s, but people have been admitted with 3 or less, and all you need is an AAA prediction at A2 in the relevant subjects. It's the interview performance that counts significantly towards your acceptance.
fantastic!

I don't care where someone went to school, and that never caused me to hire anyone or buy a business.

I'm applying for the undergrad in medicine next year.
You need really good grades, but you got some advantage - I'm sure english is your first language, so you don't have to worry about that :)

Completely depends on the faculty you apply to - law requires an "outstanding first"; other subjects like geography are a bit easier...

how good you need to be to study in this university?
lodi85 4 years ago
You need to have A* in most of your subjects, no less than an A in any subjects, you need to have all A at AS level and A level.
