hi i'm going up to lake of the woods over christmas and wanted to ask what you were using for lures

We use regular jigs in various colors with live minnows. We also use Vexlars.

Someone is actually bringing 2 cots with them & sleeping out there on the ice in two weeks. We are supplying a Coleman propane stove for them to cook on ... otherwise it is always heated & warm. Next year we are building another one that will have two "pull-down" cots in it. So instead of 14 holes to fish out of - there will only be 12. Maybe bookmark our website & subscribe to my YouTube and keep posted. Thanks for the comments. Fishing is good on Lake of the Woods!

some of those fish seem smaller than you say they are aprox...its probably me.Nice walleye though!

Gary is very good at guaging the size of fish, but as you can see he was manning the camera not the tape measure. Sizes might be out a bit, but probably not by much if at all. Ice fishing is fun as long as you are catching fish. Sometimes they're big, sometimes they're not. Nice warm, roomy ice huts make it even more fun.

This is a typical day ice fishing here - sometimes it is better. Remember that part of fishing is angler's luck, one part is angler's skill ... All I can promise you is that our ice hut is situated on an opportune fishin' hole on Lake of the Woods. E-mail or give us a call if you'd like to join us. Thanks for the comments.

If im ever there, count me in on some ice fishing...It's slow in South dakota, and the common walleye caught is around 13 inches and the legth limit is 15 so....its slow a lot.

We had a Father & Daughter come up ice fishing from South Dakota & the 12 year old girl caught a 34 or 35 inch Walleye. We were not there in the ice hut with them, but they got someone to take a picture. He said it was WAYYYYY longer than our ice scoop that has measurements up to 30 inches.

Videos are fun, but catching fish is always more fun, especially when you're in a nice heated ice hut! We're catching some nice big Walleye this winter, and Northern, Perch & Burbot too!
