  • spoinkyspoinky, this is a meta glitch. In the past, the only way to link a flexi to a phys was to leave the teeniest gap between them. That has returned in the latest release of Havoc4, I think. Try leaving a gap between the flexi and the phys prim when linked and move the flexi once linked using "Edit Linked Parts"

  • Yep, havok 4 is incredible, im using it now, its on live grid, well the 1.20 client though its a release candidate but its great, and building up for 4096 is even better

  • before havok4 you could already link a flexy to a phys root, though I tested it on havok4 earlier today, and now doing that makes the root behave as if it was phantom while in the main grid, with havok1, the root remains non-phantom if it wasn't phantom before linking

  • well when I try turning a wing to flex while the bird is flying around using physics in the main grid the bird becomes non physical and stops and spins so not sure what you mean. Sure you can but then it stops moving

  • ah, I thought the wings were already flexy before linking to the phys root, that is how i can do phys flexies on the main grid, make a phys, make a flexy, then link the flexy to the phys, having the phys be the root, and don't touch the phys or flexy parameters after they are linked

(yay! my comment got thru inspite of youtube not showing that when I posted! xD

  • Well that sounds like a tricky process. Not sure I could do that with this. If I shut off the scripts that make it move so i can detach a wing as soon as I'm not holding it it floats up into the sky and off world.

  • put the script onthe inventory (and out ofthe root prim), make the rootprim phys (and make it a box, or build a craddle or somthing to make it easier to position the wings for linking), make the wings flecy and place them in the position in relation tot he root, select the wings, then the root (the root selected last so it will be made root when linked), link them, add the script back to the root :)

  • ehm, you made the birds physical in order to let them avoid eachother, right ? Or am I missing something ?

  • the birds are physical so there movement looks smoother than non phys movement. I asked a Linden if this physical connected to flexy was a feature and he said no. It was just an oversight and wont be possible when havok4 finally reaches second life. the birds actually collide but there phantom and fly through each other.

  • Wow, nice objects! Vincent Devoix wants some. =P Now, do you mean that the flexies are physical now? Like..If I sat down with a flexi tail, it wouldn't go through the ground? I'd love LL for giving us true physical flexies. X3

  • I mean that those physical birds have flexy wings. tail would probably still go through the floor. I'm not sure if they let this happen on purpose or if its just something that got by them.

  • got a strange beauty about it
