I've actually seen the internals of a console suffering from error 0102 which is what this is. What happens is the GPU, that's the chip with two little chips on them for those who don't know and have seen the internals as well, slightly lifts up off the motherboard or the little solder balls attaching it to the board melt together causing short circuiting. M$ is well aware of the issue and since have put silicone on the corners on the CPU and GPU on all newer consoles to prevent. No easy fix.

yea, they fixed all the oevrheating issues on the 360. All 360s manufactured after October 2007 have a new HDMI port which let microsoft use a better motehr board chipset, on the older 360's they were using the 85nm sets which over heat extremely fast and were tooc lsoe to each otehr which also helpe the overheating. the new 65nm chipsets are cheaper forus users, and don't oevrheat at all. I have this new 360 i just played with it 3 days in a row= completely fine

It seems the problem sits in the cooling system. People who buy a new 360 should put a small exterior fan on the side of the console, blowing and directed to the back of the console, so the engine can cool off enough. But ones you have the "light of death", it is like the name says: dead. So use the exterior fan BEFORE you get the red light.

Hey dude yours broke for the same reason mine broke. Don't use any intercoolers that are out for the 360 right now, unless it is licensed by microsoft. They said the reason my 360 broke is b/c of the intercooler and that i shouldn't use it anymore. Plus, they said if i would have left it on longer it would have made brown spots, and once you have those on it they won't repair it, even if you have your warrenty.
