"Oil rigs today GENERALLY don't cause spills" is what he said. Anyone with the command of the English language of a 6th grader and a cursory knowledge of the rarity of oil spills will immediately realize that as an accurate statement. That has nothing to do with the dangers of deep water drilling. If there is only a 5% chance of a spill from drilling, a bit of knowledge of statistics will tell you that eventually, given enough circumstances, a spill will occur, like this one. Duh.

@jazzfusionary i wouldnt include the middle east first of all as noone can solve that mess and will never solve that mess- and the economy is doing much better atleast for my small business and my taxes were much less this year- but no doubt hes fucking up on the response to the gulf spill- he should cancel any social event or fundraisers until this gets the oil spill is ended!

This spill entails maybe even more efforts to cinch up future oil supplies in Iraq, the Persian Gulf region, Indonesian gulf waters, as big an untapped underwater oil field as Saudi Arabia and Iraq combined.
