  • Protein shakes are not necessary for someone who is just running. A common misconception that all misinformed people have is that protein will help lose weight. I hope you know going above your protein needs is bad for your kidneys and excess protein gets stored as fat, just like excess carbs and fat would. Please do

    Some research. Protein shakes aren't even necessary for doing light weights.

  • The flax oil is filled with Omega 3 and Omega 6. I am going to send you a private message with the info i pulled off the internet. a good friend (thin and healthy one too) suggested Flax Oil to me several years ago. I have been taking it ever since. I really only use it when I make a protein shake. you can use it to make salad dressing and much more. look for my PM and let me know your thoughts. thanks for watching. take care.

  • I think 2 weeks for a fill is not necessary, but you know your body well enough to know what you can and can't do. Glad you enjoy the shakes!

  • I hear ya. The thing that makes me believe is the fact that my doctor is a lapband pateint of 8 years. I think he knows. I'm ok with being different than everyone else. Every doctor seems to be a bit different. Have you spoke to anyone or found videos of anyone at 8 years post op? I have not. Makes me scratch my head. I can only find one gal here on YT that has had her band for just over 2 years. I guess we are apart of the new generation! How are this week? Wishing you the best!

  • Hey Ms. Wendy. I too am doing the C25K. I started over twice, but I'm on the second day of the second week. So I would love to be an accountability partner when it come to the 5k program. I need support to stay on it. Also I have the Vanilla brand of the protein powder you have and I was wondering if I add strawverrys what else could I use to make it good?

  • My Doctor has us do 2 days of liquid,,,,2 weeks is so unusual .....but if you can do it....then it should be more weight lost.......enjoy!

  • you can say that again. . .it is unusual, based on all of the vids i've watched here on YT. most patients do 2 - 4 days. the cool thing is that my doctor is a lapband patient himself, so i really do trust his judgement. I had lobster tail tonight - so that's off the liquids, but otherwise i am sticking to it. i am trying to hit 199 (onderland) by september 1st when i go home to my parents house in ohio ( i have not seen them since dec 08). thanks for watching and the comments.

  • yes, it is crazy! i laughed when they told me that after my 1st fill. i did it for about 2 days last time, cuz many of the peeps here on youtube only do 2 days per doctor's orders. I am giving it a shot this time for 1 week. i am heading out of town on a business trip next friday and it would just be too hard to do while working on the road. take care.

  • Did you add up the calories of the peanut butter and the banana?I think a banana is 100 calories and a Tablespoon of peanut butter is 100 plus the protien powder. The only reason I mention it because I used to make a shake with peanut butter chocolate protien powder and it turned out to be 350 cals. Have a great week. Norma

  • great question! I like that you know your stuff. Yes, I did add up the calories. they are located in the side bar and also above in a comment. The recipe makes 2 servings of about 16 oz. I only drank one, so the nutritional info listed on the side bar and above are for 1 serving. Times 2 (if you drank both servings) it would be the following:  315 calories, 19g Fat, 4.5 carbs, 2g Fiber, and 28.6 g Protein. So, I would not make drinking 2 of them a habit. For sure. 1 = max. take care.

  • I stand corrected! I went back and did the math on the nutritional info again and I have now corrected the info in the side bar. Here it is:

    This makes 2 shakes. I only drank one and put the 2nd in the fridge, just in case I want another one later. Here is the nutritional info for 1, just about 16 oz of Shake

    Calories - 180

    Fat - 9.6 grams (mostly from the flax oil - - the good kind of fat with lots of Omega 3's)

    Carbs - 11.5 grams

    Fiber - 2.5 grams

    Protein - 14.3 grams x2 for 2 servings

  • Looks yummy, but I can't bring myself to drinking shakes made with water... ick!

  • it's super tasty. seriously! let me know what you think. i will not drink any other protein powder, except the whey protein from jay robb. i personally think that all of the others are nasty, well at least the few that i dared to try. take care!
