One thing this OS does is drain the hell out of your battery. I wish they would have had the OS ask if you wish to allow the app to run in the background. Once you have a lot of apps running you'll notice the life of the battery go by quick.

There's not even a feature to turn this off currently.

Hi if you are having trouble, change usb ports! I had the same problem then i changed ports and then it worked ! So hope this helps you upgrade to ios 4.

The GM versin is the version they call "perfect" and after one final review will be released to the public.

However, you should actually stay on the GM version because:

1. Its hackable with redsn0w.

2. Apparently, iPod touch 2G users dont get GameCenter and iBooks.

3. With redsn0w, you can enable multitasking and homescreen wallpapers.

Only downside?

The GM has no default wallpapers, for some reason.

GameCenter is out, but the iTouch 2G version dont have it....Oddly enough...

Only apps that have been coded to ask ur iPod/iPhone for a "space" in registry can be backgrounded. So all your favorite apps gotta be updated to support it.

Currently, though, all the default apps and all Apple apps fully support it.

Also remember you gotts have a iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 3G to use multitasking.

yeah its not worth upgrading early because most apps are not compatible with 4.0 firmware, not even jailbroken apps, i had 4.0 but i had to downgrade. it sucked but its better to wait till the official 4.0 comes out

Yeah but first you gotta downgrade to earlier firmware, then delete that 4.0 firmware, then update, it will download the public release.

but i actually suggest you stay on the Gm or beta or whatever, as the public release seems to have some bugs still, and somehow itouch 2G/iPhone 3G users dont even get GameCenter....So theres a lot of bugs....and Apple has really locked down for us old-style users.
