would the single leg take down defense be a takedown for the other guy? Since he is holding your pants? So if you dont finish the triangle he gets the two points for the take down.
@NinjaWarriorDude Nope, the guy who goes for the triangle and does not get it gets an advantage instead. He attempted a submission and missed it or the other guy defended it.
You know... does anyone else feel absolutely retarded when someone shows you something like this and you're like, "fuck that's so simple - how the hell didn't I see that before?" Yeah, jitz has a way of making you feel eternally stupid sometimes.
ya like lower belts can jump into a triangle that easy ..u cud have showed the bend ur knee hook ur opnts leg and push there head down as u slide ur leg out
@laylalaylady You shouldn't be allowed to get a yellow belt if you cant do that. Triangle is basic and should be second nature. It was the first thing I had down, and is used a shit ton. If you can't fall right into it, then people are going to stack up and pass your guard every single time.
who shows a flying triangle lol...Any good multi-faceted combatant with a background in wrestling will be too tucked into that leg and into your hip for your triangle...plus how do you lock it with your leg under him..even if you get it out to the side he'll push on the knee and barzagar
$120/month for gi/no-gi Jiu Jitsu, BJJ, Kickboxing, and MMA + unlimited use of their gym and ring. Includes all gradings... but why is everyone posting how much they pay for training?
I don't know about the single leg defense. It would work if the person doing it doesn't know how to properly hold a single leg. Most people that get me with a single leg lock it between their legs.
in my system of jiu jitsu, i have yet to learn spider guard, if it even exists. is it that easy to get caught in? and furthermore, is it that easy to be controlled by?
that's not really true, I've seen plenty of instructors from many different styles who offer techniques for free. And for the record, in terms of monetary cost, BJJ has cost me more than any other style i've encountered. The average cost per month in my area is $150, while the cost of my judo instruction is only 50.
it's called living in california. hence the reason why i said "average cost per month in my area", not just my school only. reading comprehension is clearly not your friend.
for the single leg. from a defensive standpoint; try hold the opponent at the ankle. therefore he wont be able to swing his leg around to set-up the triangle.
Or you could just sack him.

@midgetgooch619 The triangle is a pretty basic move that I knew before I started bjj

@samb202 the triangle is not as easy as it looks..

@midgetgooch619 If sinking in a tight triangle isn't quick and second nature to you by yellow belt, rip the belt off, burn it, and find a new school.

@timmytankTK Yellow belt? I guess you don't train BJJ unless you're a child.

@timmytankTK In BJJ, there is no such thing as a yellow belt unless you're taking children classes. What exactly are you talking about?

Evan Tanner hit this exact move on Justin Levens - it does work at high level. But, certainly wouldn't be my first go to move either.

is there a safe way to break ur fall if ur going for the jumping triangle in no gi?
tapias0117 1 year ago
@tapias0117 Grab their shirt, or shorts, yeah, give them a giant wedgie! But on a more serious note, if you grab their arm that will help.
lighttekku 1 year ago
@lighttekku ya i tried grabbing on to there shirt it works pretty good, if i grab there arm which arm would i grab?
tapias0117 1 year ago
@tapias0117 either one would work, but I would recommend trying to grab the arm that you aren't putting in the triangle.

why not just pull out your revolver during a match? i know ive always got mine hidden under my gi incase i need it.
japp111 2 years ago
why not pull your dick out while your at it?
skater4nater 2 years ago
yes that too, but only after i have shot the guy. that way i can use his blood as lubricant.
japp111 2 years ago
I probably wouldn't do this at the beginning of a match. I'd be afraid of giving the other guy two points since he initiated the take down.

Both are awesome and work well. As far as the single leg defense, you can also go to an omoplata from it.
