  • Eugenics Cult and the God damn bankers, aren't going to like this one bit.

Passing on spiritual ancestry directly parent to children, and stockpiling *useful* knowledge (such as animal husbandry) at a central source available to all is an afront to the inbreed usuring bigots.

  • we are not indians, indians are from india. we are anishanabeks first nations

  • @skalper87 Go to (fafsa.gov) or geta form from a college, enroll and get your class schedule and fill out form on the internet. Please dont give up

  • if Shoni wants to "make it" then your going to have to play at college level game not high school. There is a difference. This is the way to hone your positives and shed your neg's in your skill. it will be tougher than high school, harder mentally too. Decide you won't give up when it gets tough.

  • great video

  • @TheBBQPope do you think it will take even that long? I think most of the people on reserves in Canada have white blood and most whites who come from certian areas like where I came from the superior region are part native....and in fact you can't tell them apart some times from those areas....they say it is likely that 40% of whites in that area are not full blooded...I know I am not!

  • I went on to educate myself and I just got an idea from this video...scholarships from Native Americans for Native Americans...

  • the american indians carry such a heavy burden. I admire their strength.

  • God bless all Native American peoples.

  • this is the truth.. alcohol was the first thing that happen. now it is the T.V. shows and the video games if they don't have that is is the alcohol and drugs. now some elders are giving up of talking about the tradition not all but most of them.

  • Awsome!

  • Mrbiejos@ how was I totly disrespectful???

I said she was beautiful in many ways'

If I attracted to her , it's normal

    I'm a male

  • @Waxfiretape and so because you have a member you use that as a excuse? The power of a man is not in his member! Maybe your are a 13 year old boy who knows nothing, I do not know, But I do know that women are so much more than an sexual object that the present mainstream teaches. To me this women is so much younger than me yet I hold her in my heart and mind as my elder. My member has no say in this matter.

  • Great vid, thanks for sharing!!!!

  • @Waxfiretape Totally Disrespectful!!!

  • What a beautiful language such a beautiful voice also..

  • In my culture, my uncle was a shaman and he say, " Remember this son, do not let you and your people become orphans. Remember who you are and where you come from. Remember to keep your father and great grandfathers name, so that you don't become orphans. Call to your ancestor for help and wisdom. Do not forget them too. Keep your custom and instrument, do not throw them away. Do this and you will never be lost my child." He die at age 80 of lung disease.

  • ever sick boy LOL

  • Amen.Osiyo my friend, keep on keeping on my friend.

  • It's good to see a hole culture standing up from being put down on the ground in the last hundreds of years. You can see "Getting knowledge and studying and working upwards to a "normal" life as new challenge, as other way of fighting for you, for the Indians.

  • ...beautiful singing

  • Comment removed

  • Let me chant n' sing to the wilderness to the sky as ancient as the wind that howls my name , that calls the seasons. Let the trees teach me n give me wisdom , so I may grow old like they, give to me earth a sparrow , a women of spiritual strenght n beauty, so I may give to u life as it is -

  • What a beautiful girl in all sense of the word

    Physical

  • This a beautiful film, full of beautiful people. Hope is a God given right - everybody deserves it. I love this film, thank you for posting.

  • @8DieNaFire8 Why? What's to be happy about? Your culture of fast food and porn?

  • i see- so u praise ur land in words- but u want white mans education so u can get city jobs- not farming jobs- ur too good for that- so noone left on reserve except new whites who love the earth and show it by farming herb growing not by wanting donations like children-and smoking away the childrens checks-why mennonites doing well on same type land in canada? nothing to learn from them?

  • I Like It When She SInqz . .. Beautiful ..

  • i like the poem and song. what tribe is she?

  • @2IJAM She is from Santa Clara Pueblo.

  • Whats up Rose! we met at gathering a few years ago. keep doing your thing sister. Tiahui! -Xilan

  • Dayyum, that lady singin' in the beginng is HOT furrealz!!

  • Check out RezEyeMedia!

  • she is fine sooooo some how!!!!

  • education, I have tried to apply for it. They turn me down. I did worked all over in Kennecott refinery, Hercule in Magno Ut. ,Westech Engineering, Inc.,, Eimco Envirotech PMD. I tried just because I am a Navajo. I made whiteman jealous.

I am 57 now, I need to updated my career to BS. Getting a job cost money these day.

I find my own way. thanks...

  • Damned Casinos out o have to foot the bill fo a lot of that--they take folk's money left and right!

  • There's nothing wrong with education. It's not a "white man" thing or not relying on your culture. You can learn to be something that can you can take back to your tribe and help your community grow. People on rez's should have doctors, counselors, electricians or whatever else they want or need. Plus a native american college will help make sure the culture isn't lost.

  • @sumoni Your argument revolves around "want", and what you really want is respect!! If indeed you are one of those people, you've clearly learnt nothing but how to want like a White Man.

  • @Quakership89 Well I did say "or need". Respect isn't going to put food on the table. It isn't going to pay the bills and etc. Why is wanting to help your people and your community grow equal to "white man"? I'm not saying that a degree will get you everything. For some people it gets them nothing. But if you learn a trade that benefits the rez, that's not something to be ashamed of.

  • @sumoni What do you mean by "benefit"?? Benefit your ego perhaps? You want respect, and so you need an education.

  • @Quakership89 By benefit I mean a trade that will ensure rez's have good clinics for example. That will have good schools or optical centers for those who need glasses. It's not always about ego. You can gain respect in many ways, it all depends on who you want the respect from. I don't need respect from my family or community to want to help them. :)

  • @sumoni You focus on physical sickness, while ignoring your own sick attitudes. So what happened to traditional practices? And that still does not explain why people go to college to study something like philosophy or geography. You know nothing and care nothing about true heritage, so why not shut up about it?

  • Wow! She's so pretty!

  • thanks for sharing..

  • 1 thing I so respect about the NATIVE people is they don't believe in giving their guns up 2 the white eye like they have they have done in the hood with gun buy back programs.... trickery...trickin niggas in to giving up their guns???...HELL NO I WONT GO!!! If some shit cracks off in America I will go straight 2 the res 4 instructions....I know they got GUNS buried...

  • @zyruemusic you have to see who those guns are killing!! Just their own people!!! You kill a White man, you're dead, you kill your own, slap on your hand!! Don't fool yourself!

  • @cpadill5 I am a battle hardened soldier from the ghetto fam so I am fully aware of white man law...however white man law soon will end because YAH has given the devil his time 2 prove his nature 2 B PURE EVIL. YAH WILL DELIVER HIS NATIVE PEOPLE!!!

  • great video and it is the good fight, God Bless all you wonderful women and men.

  • that young lady sings so pretty she is a natural artist - college is not the key to your future - using your mind and heart spirit is - many people have 4 year degrees and they cant get jobs

  • God Bless all college students!! Help your people, from a native american in New Mexico. We are proud of all of you. Education= power!!!!!!!

  • This is so pretentious!! So now we equate succumbing to the White Man's institions as progress?? Education is really only for institutionalizing and stultifying people and their culture. These people are only trying to emulate the White Man so as to gain respect.

  • beautiful video... it reminds me why i strive to do better

  • sa achukma. :-) yakoke for posting!

  • I hope that girl finds the money for school. If I had it, I'd give it to you.

  • I like kimberly i think she can do it, to become somebody and have a great future. I was a hardcore vodka drinker dwelling on my past and not thinking of school, now that I've been sober for 2 yrs. i think clearly and have better thoughts of school now. anybody can stop drinking or drugs (anybody) just got to be true to you and stop blaming and acting on it. it's hard but we natives can do it ... BE STRONG I BELIEVE IN YOU!!! kimberly

  • i love her voice and the video

  • love this video... "it's the good fight" i agree! keep on going!

  • Hey i got one of these scholarships.... haha didn't help me,... but was ok

  • the little girl at 4:01 looks exactly like this chinese girl in my class

  • nobody cares

  • May I use your video, if you do, I will show it to my club members at my high school.

  • Awesome!! Takes a you to a place you can only find among our people an in the lives of our family. Joseph Band Nez Perce whoop whoop

  • It is so sad America is such a profoundly racist and greedy nation. I was searching for land in NM, and the filthy gringos have homes that are absurdly priced. you'd think they would share their extreme wealth, gotten from generations of parasitism.

  • navajo

  • im Native american..about 78% and i have other mixed cultures behind that but im very endulged in my culture becuase i believe that all of us can fix the bad things that happen on the rez.

  • awho...waste...

  • LOLOLOL INDIANS NEED JESUS...

  • xSkraelingx brings up something important about Non-native power sources. therefore, all native communities must wrack theye brains for Self-Sufficient power sources! talk to non american electrical engineers across the world for ideas. no more paying american whitey! ...but. of course, we all know american whitey gonna try and stop you from being self sufficient concerning hydro power. it threatens his easy meal ticket!$!

  • washington says, "Sure! you can say yer Soveriegn!,..............as long as you dont forget whos boss!" its true!

  • I understand where you're coming from, but the sentence "you have reached political and social ascendancy, and a great educational and entrepreneurial level" is mere flattery.

  • Why do most Colleges not get funding from the casinos? Does that mean

    a) the colleges on a reservation with a casino that is generating enough revenue DO get funding, but most of the casinos are not successful enough?

    b) even those that are successful don't give funding?

I just tried to google it, but couldn't find anything (only tons of articles on casinos providing random blackjack dealer courses).

  • We can all learn from the youth making a difference today.

Blessings to our brothers to the North. May the Eagle and Condor fly together on our path for freedom. There are no racial differences.

Plight of native peoples is universal.

  • A rock in the ground is the center of the earth and from there I came.

When my eyes they opened, Sun saw cliffs of sand. White tip blue mountains held me in their arms and sang to my red blood songs of yellow flowers on black mesas. And I sing...

  • first nations cuz we aint from India were from north America lol just thought i would point that out

  • @bigchief626 , u r funny lol ! d-_-b

  • nice!!! native from nm!!!

  • nice video

  • Thats very nice, I loved that video...

  • Why does the United Negro College Fund get $225,000,000?!?

    They weren't 98% wiped out!

  • uhm because they worked and fought for it?? Native Americans have their rights as citizens now.. because blacks worked and fought for it! dont even try to point fingersblacks in this country went thru super hell for their rights why aren't Native Americans organizing and marching for their college fund?? *silence* and thats why UNCF has those funds and natives dont -___- focus on your self and not what Blacks have and you would be better off

  • I agre and I'm both tsalagi and african american

  • WHAT IS TSALGI??

  • @HOTINONSHONNI tsilagi also spelled tsalagi is better known as cherokee o most people. we are also are know as aniyunwia which also has different variations in it's spelling. But to answer your question, it's a cherokee.

  • I am Native and Black and live here in Oklahoma and I can tell you that most of these college funds DONT DO WHAT THEY CLAIM! I think the executives take most of the donations, I have never seen anything from the negro college fund. They do have Native grants but its not enough really.

  • because we UNITED and fought for it, its a big part of american history cicil right MOVEMENT we boycotted and hit the apressors pockets you take away their money you force then to change things we opened up schools food drives policed our own streets learned the law and beat bogus ciurt cases. I am also Tsalagi and lets look at this we're divied there are 7 diff clans in my tribe about 5% rez speak tsalagi and there are 3 diff dialects. iff all native came to gether and fought change would b see

  • When I was little my parents wanted to live and contribute on the Navajo Rez, and I wanted to live that way, but I was half- and the indian kids in Arizona were rotten mean. When I was 12 a group of kids beat me and broke my arm, bad, when I was waiting for the bus. The parents did nothing. It was different up in Quebec- the indians up their have their culture, and get educated, they're just better people. Maybe it's racial? Whatever, there big differences among Indians.

  • yes there are differences among different natives and as a person who is native and black im not welcomed by many natives because of it there are even documents and blood percentages that were put in to effect by my own native people that exclude many form their culture and it discuss me and so many are racist and also bitter because of what white settlers did to our people but are doing the same themselfs. makes me sad.

  • How ever things have changed and I'm proud to say blood is not important in registering for my tribe any more. we're actually one of the most culturally diverse tribes now. to register the only requirment is to trace 1 ancesterback to a person listed on the role. even if you got 1% blood you can be registered. In time change comes. Hope fully your wounds will heal one day.

  • @tuchesuavae What tribe specifically? My ancestors are not on the Dawes Roll as they had moved west into KY before the rolls but I know the names. I have always wished to be formally recognized by my Cherokee people. I love them very much.

  • She's beautiful!

  • all it takes is time.that COULD BE FOREVER!!!

  • Comment removed

  • You can do it! Do not give up. Be Strong.

  • y r u such a jerk? r just mad they r trying to do something nd ur not? is that y??

  • im sorry ur lost but our culture is what we have i dont live on the rez eather but i still beleave in our native way of life

  • @Skribble204 baby you need your grandparents, do you have living relatives? talk to the elders in you family

  • Every educated person, once they have a stable career, should fund two people's education. And so on. We would educate ourselves so quickly it ain't even funny.

  • @kuihkun , hell yeah

  • how bad is the reservation? i dont see..what the

  • i think u need to search u tube for all that then u will see how bad rez life is

  • the most powerful weapon is the simple book! Books=Knowledge=Power!!

  • I wish i can meet a girl like her. To bad there are too many that are drunks or influence in hip hop/rap.

  • really? what's your opinion on rap?

  • no offense, but studies show that students who listen to rap/hip hop are not as smart as those who don't.

  • @TheNightWolfie mainstram hip- hop...maybe.

  • we arent all like that..like me..im not into drinkin..

  • what's wrong with hip hop? not all hip hop is bad like any other sub culture or music .

  • all dis stuff that there talkn bout its all the way over here in Cali the REZ is all bad... I feel lucky i got out, but it sux cuz i got lil cuzns left behind n dnt kno wut to do....

  • Education is what made us lose our culture, We are not dumb indians we lived off of the land we were hands on learners because thats how we survived. That is why many of our people struggle with going to school, because we were stripped of it and our elders and ancestors did not know how to deal with that trauma and that is when passing down what they learned and knew was corrupted. Alcoholism is a disease that what brought to us by the white man just like small pox and syphillis for example

  • What if the casino in your tribal community doesn't generate enough money?

  • 2- an observation: i would take a safe guess and say youre pan-native community is at the point where the catholic Irish community was in 1847. you have reached political and social ascendancy, and a great educational and entrepenurial level.. the next step is a hard struggle for independance as soveriegn peoples. i know one faction agrees. the other faction may stay American i guess. its up to them.

  • FAIL. That is wrong. Nice try. Also: Do everyone a favor and check mere numbers. How many Irish are there, how many First Nations/Native Americans? The majority of FN/NA live in cities as well (70%-80%), not on their tribal lands (if their tribe has lands). So what should they do? Claim Los Angeles or New York? What?! Plus: they already are sovereign nations.

  • amaryllische.........if they are Soveriegn nations why is Crow Creek rez having its power cut by non-native government?

  • @acerb45666555

Maybe because that power comes from the non-native government's country? Just a thought...

  • 1:50........"The differance education makes"...........another quote>>>>" Educated man and un-educated man are as differant as are the living from the dead. Educated youth are the future of empire".-Aristotle, the Greek warrior philosopher...............no one has to be a nuclear physicist! but its good to know things.

  • its been like that since the begining when they first arrived alot of the knowledge was lost when they massacred tried to extinct us we cant get a break in sports or in jobs cause everybody believes we are alcholics or drug attics lost on reservations or even worst lots of people have not seen a native american or think we are all dead we will rise again the cream always rises to the top Tukashila will save us keep your heads high and your minds strong this land is our land not your you stole it

  • Man this is so depressing, but hang in there God "YHWH" will set things right .

  • Education is CRITICAL for the future development of Indian life. It's essential for the sovereignty of these Nations and assuring that the right leaders are in the right positions. Government and private pressures are just a large as ever and it's key that members of the tribe understand the complicated working so that no more will be lost. The most damaging image is that Indians are a dying race, and education can change that image.

  • my rez thinks of the people who are on the tribal councl seats kids first before they think about anyone else. besides that, the money is being stolen from its own tribal council.

  • very true they don't care about anyone that act liek it's there own money.and not the peopels it's liek they choice who to fund and who not to fund.

  • dope video.... Rose is dope, I know of her work. Shes Rocks the MIC!!!

    Quese Imc

  • And she's very beautiful.

  • shut the fuck up have a little respect

  • rose are u there????????????

  • does anyone remember bead working and looms,, peace pipes inlaid porkeypine quills? my parents got the piano from inside the church ,(the pine ridge battle) . Brent.

  • i hit rock bottum just becuase my own rez turned me down for funding.rez people dont give a shit about city people that come from the rez they only care about them selves.and are afrade of change.

  • Thats true im going through

the same sheeit .. all they

    care about is money and

    drinkn..not good = [

  • Man, That's bullshit. The fact you're eager to get an education should give you money for college. There' s so many people on the rez who don't do shit, and they turn down someone who can make the community better.

keep trying, some state colleges like Montana State has some programs and funding to help Indians, but it's not enough to cover the bill. There's a lot of ways to get money for school.

  • i argee that probelms is where i am we need a grade 12 just to work at Burger King.seriously rez people won't even fund for there own people on the rez.they make sure there kids or there family get in first before anyone else. witch is sad.

  • What an inspirational video. I have only a semester left at a public university but I also don't have the funds to finish. This give me hope.

  • wow !!!!

  • What an amazing fund - long may it continue. Funny, but Europeans don't seem to understand that native Americans are oppressed. And we started it!

  • Absolutely beautiful and inspiring. May the Creator bless your efforts!

  • This is so inspirational...I feel increadibly spoiled. I am not exactly single, but due to immigration issues my husband is out of state so I am taking care of our children by myself as well as working full time. I have always used this excuse to not go back to school, even though my tribe will pay all of my tuition, books, transportation and some living expenses. Thank you so much, for making this video, I plan on contacting our Higher Ed. Coordinator after I finish typing this comment.

  • beautiful song! have you thought of making a record?

  • damn...this is too true. i am one of those native youth who is working very hard to stay in school and its very hard to make the money on my rez. my parents make too much money so i was denied for scholarships, but they don't know that i dont ask my parents for money. i didnt make my school bill and now i'm not in school this year. But im not gonna give up, i'll be back at IAIA when i can afford it. shout out to d. whitehawk, rose, gritts, mr. clark and kim. (personal friends)

  • ya-teh-hey every one

  • well i completley understand everything said and only hope it reaches other reservaions i am oneida and im goin onondaga comunity college in syracuse but my mother was a teacher at syrcuse university and she said something about native americans able to go for free but im not sure if was a tribal issue or not wether you had to be of a cetain nation to be enrolled and all that but look into it guys lot of natives out here are doin their best too love and peace cousinz onehh

  • Beautiful song!!!

    Native pride!!!

  • its good to know that natives are tryn to better themselfs im a full blooded mississippi choctaw n im attending Eastern Oklahoma State College n im also the Native American Student Association President n supporters like the college fund really gives natives a fighting chance to better themselves, my dad didnt finish high school so im the first of the family to graduate high school and go to college!!!
