  • ... Maurice Moss?...

  • They should be a brief round of Don't Be Dirty on QI.

  • Dorrn't B'Dirrrteh! was of course invented by Sir Rhodes Boyson.

  • @crapatev which one?

  • @LoftskipSesarsNr8 The one who's not only been improving THE lot of small business but also raising standurds of accountabiliteh

  • What a GREAT idea for a real show. Could teach the younger people now how to search their silly brains for words other than the obvious dirty ones. They would actually have to LEARN more words before the show - anyone remember learning words at school? I do.

  • @laosandburma But it would seem that in order to win, you would have to have a very extensive knowledge of what is and can be construed as dirty, including being aware of anagrams that can be dirty. :)

  • @1stCainite We must then co-author a guide to smut and how to avoid the odd "slip of the tongue" Oh dear I see this game would be HARD to play. But what a brilliant bit of comedy from these two.

  • @laosandburma I'd suggest you go watch Stephen Fry explaining the necessity of wearing.

  • I do remember one time where my teacher was trying to teach me a word that was safe, or a safe that was worded, oh I can never remember. Anyways, right after that the memory blacks out and picks up with me bedded upon some leaves in a forest.

  • amanverymuchatthetopofhis FOURM

  • He said business... smh

  • traduscanlo a español please! o subtitulenlo!.

  • Nice to see Clive Mantle here (the other contestant) Some may remember him as Little John in the 1985 HTV series "Robin of Sherwood"

  • @smiffy1071 or as Doctor Mike Barratt on Casualty and Holby City - at least that's where I know him from :)

  • I want this as an actual show!

  • How the hell is "raise" an anagram of "arse"? :S

I'm Greek, not a native Enlgish speaker, so please excuse me if I'm obviously linguistically ignorant. :)

  • @EricDanier no, im british, and it has confused me too :')

  • @EricDanier Rase, alternate spelling of raze: to tear down; demolish; level to the ground.

  • @CullTheLivingFlower I know the word "raze", but I never knew it could be spelled "rase". Thank you very much for the information. :)

  • " Tony i thought you were a goner then "

    LOL xD

  • Serious lols @ "Careful Tony!".

    This vid/scene/sketch is comedy gold.

  • Nymphadora Tonks springs to mind...

  • 'Can no-one beat this big man from Hunstanton?' I bet they spent hours going through place names til they got that, its perfect!

  • Stephen is a quality copy/ parody of Jim Bowen

  • OH MAN! I can't believe they said the 'Business' on TV! Imagine how many young kids are watching!

  • Anyone notice the similarities between Hugh Laurie in this and Moss from 'The IT Crowd'?

  • whenever my boyfriend says something rather suggestive to me in a public place, I just say "don't be dyyyyertehhh." hahaha

  • Is this the only version of this sketch?

  • @feuchster

    Yep :(

  • @muffin8or That's a shame =[ i've watched this like 14+ times =p

    SADPANDA

  • your times starts...5 sec ago xD

  • Ten quid? Blimey, the cost of a state of pleasurable relaxation has gone up a bit.

  • Aya shoower ass not Burrrnleh? The faintly unsettling combination of southwest and northwest seems to be in evidence?

  • I've got bronchitis and 0:31 started me off with a massive coughing fit.

  • I'm from burnley a that is not our accent. It may be a bit clitheroe

  • Dun't beh Dur-teh.

  • If that were a TV show, I'd watch it.

  • Just realised the other guy is Clive Mantle...love that guy. :D

  • Don't be DURRRRRRRTAH

  • Lol, not sure what accent that's meant to be.

  • @QueenDeaconite Burnley area :)

  • The end of the clip is missing where he storms off after saying "Oh Piss"!!!

  • @richie616799

This is only half the sketch. Tony goes on to a bonus round.

  • @derekmok I know, I remember it, "Tony, you said On the Game".. "I did, I did, I did, shit, arse piss and bugger!!" :):)

  • Simply disgusting!

  • raise is an anagram of arse?

  • @idiatico British spelling rase

  • @jackbentley708 i am british D:

  • @idiatico They're on about rase as in, tear something down e.g rase it to the ground.

  • @jackamatyus i am actually glad you pointed out how stupid i am because i have heard the rase word used before but never written and i always found it weird how people said they raise something to the ground xD

  • i can't believe hugh got to say sexes but the other guy couldnt even say raise

  • This should be a real show

  • Hugh's accent in this reminds me of Moss (Richard Ayoade) in The IT Crowd. :')

  • Stephen's accent alone sounds dirty!

  • @nobodypersonsomeone can't imagine someone explaining a joke getting so much thumbs up...

  • and then he made QI ... oh well there goes not being dirty

  • 25 people died in canoes.

  • I could watch an entire movie based on this game show.

  • 3 time semi-finalist and then reigning champion. lol

  • Raise is not an anagram of Arse -.-

  • @IAmNomster Rase, not raise. It's a variation spelling of raze.

  • @IAmNomster It's 'rase' which is more commonly spelled (in North America anyway) as 'raze' - to completely clear-cut an area.

  • He said form!!

  • cant believe i have to watch a 20 second add for 2 mins of comedy

  • hugh said sexies ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • rase

  • The accent is brilliant.

  • not quite sure raise actually is an anagram of arse but ho well

  • @squashballferg That's what I thought, great sketch though

  • @squashballferg rase (or raze) as in destroy

  • Laurie's hair should be illegal !!!!

  • OMG! Stephen's accent is class!

  • Don't be Durrrti

  • This THIS is the Hugh Laurie I love! :)

  • Don't be deerrtehhaa..

  • Co za asy....

  • this should be an actual game show.

  • Masticate? OWW, he realizes that mean biting right? As in with your teeth.

  • @supermanlypunch Do you realise that when he mentions mastication, he is using it as another example in which the mouth is used for

  • @gibsondanny I know that, I'm just saying that "Masticating" in regards to fellatio would be very very painful.

  • Comment removed

  • I love how he says "don't be dirty"

  • AaaGHH! I HATE these bloody acverts before videos! Is this the way it's going or can we get rid of them?

  • @khasab I think it would work if you make one of those time links 0:01 et c.

The ones that bother me the most is those new army ads, its enough to make me wanna change back to conscription.

  • Is it supposed to be a Welsh accent?- Sorry, American here. <-- BLEH.

  • @Bioniclejab Nothern Sorry

  • @TheLordTomlin Thank you (:

  • this needs to be an actual game show!

  • Dirt-AH.

  • 21 people died in a canoe

  • lol I thought Hugh was Moss from The IT Crowd for a sec.

  • 21 people were dirty

  • Rase is an anagram of arse.

  • Dunt be dirrteh

  • "... one of the participants, takes a part of the other paticipants person, into the place where they might more commonly keep... bubblegum, say"!!!! Absolutely CLASSIC line!!!! Absolutely brilliant!!! I suppose you yanks won't have seen Dr House like this.

  • LOL

    c-c-c-careful Tony!

  • Just been listening to Stephen Fry's wonderful Autobiography, he talks veryfondly of Hugh Laurie and sketches like this make you see why. They're both wonderful, just a shame to see Hugh on the other side of the pond :(

  • @luckyd0m

Well, Hugh's enormous talent is the reason why he's such a hit in "House, M.D." America really NEEDS an actor like that. But a high number of such artists are in England, and it IS, as you so rightly call it, a shame to think that America has more power in terms of the ideas that its TV programmes, music, and such like are able to instil on international audiences, when the truly brilliant and intellectually interesting actors, musicians, etc., are, in their majority, English.

  • Doon't Bee Diratay!

  • Time starts... then!! :))

  • Rase means to tear something down or to make something level

  • I think that this is one of my favourite sketches :D

  • Isn't Mr. House the ancestor of Moss from IT CROWD? :D

  • The lack of amazement that Gregory Motherfucking House is not being dirty astounds me.

  • Close your eyes and Clive Mantle sounds like "Big" Sam Allardyce. Whose teams play dirty football. Or used to when he had a team!

  • Clive Mantle is great here too.

  • love the way he says form

  • But there's no 'i' in rase, asshole.

  • No it isn't! There's an "i" in "raise"!

  • @DdlyHeadshot RASE as in to 'rase a hardwood forest' you mook

  • wait, that guy reminds me of moss from IT crowd... O_O

  • I can't believe he actually said BUISNESS on public television! Think of the young children!

  • @P1votG33k I know it is simply digusting. Simply, disgusting. Simply... disgusting...

  • @P1votG33k I hope you are refering to the OTHER sketch with the stupid woman and where Fry say's " I couldn't give a flying toss."

  • @P1votG33k If you liked that search for "How To Swear Like A Brit"...and you'll then know to never use the word 'sillyface' in public ever again..

  • "...then gives them ten quid and goes home." Hah!

  • 21 people have been dirty

  • Pronunciation:

    /reɪz/

    (also rase)

    verb

    [with object]

completely destroy (a building, town, or other settlement):

villages were razed to the ground

  • @jamiemh76 Challenge! Raze is an anagram of arse!

  • Yeah! It's also an anagram for an erection!... I would be so good at this game.

  • @memomo96 Ummm, it's a synonym, not an anagram. Sorreh.

  • raised is an anagram of arse?

  • @4Q24Q

Actually they say 'rase', not 'raised'. The pronunciation is the same as for raise but the meaning and spelling are different.

  • the way he says 'dirty' is just fantastic

  • @Stevie2Sxc

    yeah, what is he imitating?

some accent or some social group's pronunciation?

  • @koektoful He is affecting a Lancastrian accent, an English dialect of the North West region. He may also be immitating the Lancastrian game show presenter Jim Bowen, who was well known for his strong Lancastrian accent when presenting the popular British game show Bullseye.

  • @WiseOwlOfGallifrey

    thanks a lot!

  • @WiseOwlOfGallifrey ty I was trying to place the accent

  • CARFUL!

  • I am from the region Stephen Fry voice was mocking, and I have to say it was absolute antelope crap. But <3 Stephen for trying.

  • Don't be dirtaayy !

  • Stephen fry = national treasure

  • @Jonnyx2376 Careful Jonny!! you said treasure...

  • @jronzonb oh deer ive been durty :(

  • @Jonnyx2376 Could I amend that? As an American in love with British culture I'd like to raise his status to 'universal treasure'. I'm sure misters Eccelston, Tennant, Smith, Baker, et. al would agree.

  • @Jonnyx2376 Hugh = nowadays an international treasure.

  • I really think this should be an actual show. They can build on the concept of course, but it could be hilarious

  • how do they know where i keep my bubblegum

  • yey. Tonks' voice! I love Stephen Fry!

  • @balletbabe13 YES!!!

  • Tony = Moss (I.T Crowd)

  • Mr Nottingham is actually in panama

  • thought you were a goner there i laughed so hard

  • Hughlaurieous!!!

  • "Tooagh, Tony. I thought you were a gonna there!"

  • raise is an anagram of arse...

  • @TaskMaster619 when it's spelt wrong: airse

  • @eviljim108

you just remove the "i"... "airse" still doesn't spell arse lol

    It's just a joke...

  • @TaskMaster619 i was joking as well, i'm sorry if that wasn't obvious

  • @eviljim108

    oh. fair enough. sorry.

  • @eviljim108 They're talking about the forests being 'rased', not 'raised'.

  • @number1drummerman *razed

  • @KairuHakubi That's also an acceptable spelling, but since I'm British (and so too are Fry and Laurie) I'll stick with 'rased'.

  • and ur time starts 5 seconds ago

  • I wouldn't last 30 seconds on this show.

  • butYouCameUpAgainstAmanWho'sVeryMuchOnTheTopOfHisFoooorm!

LOL he speaks so freaking fast.

  • LMAO Fry's accent alone almost made me die of laughter

  • Tony looks like Napoleon Dynamite lol

  • Hugh reminds me of Moss from IT Crowd in this for some reason XD

  • 21 persons haven't been paid £10.

  • hahahaha!! I love it when Steve says... " C c c c ccareful towny " 0:40 xDD hahha.

  • A Perfect sketch - I've lived with this for about 15 years and it is still fantastic. Despite the ridiculous premise of the game, they get it so right. I'd love to see another series of this. It's up there with Python, Pete & Dud. It is also why I called my newborn daughter "Mr. Dalliard" with "Mr." being her christian name of course

  • @inkymoon

    'Mr Dalliard inkymoon'.

She'll have absolutely no problems at school that I could possibly foresee.

    :)

  • C-c-c- careful, Tony!

  • Quality Fry and Laurie! Make a new series!!!!!!

  • Laurie sounds like Moss and Fry sounds like Roy.

  • @phecdawhirl LOL, since when was a Irish accent the same as a lancashire accent?

  • @phecdawhirl roy is irish :S

  • I wish this were Stephen Fry's actual accent.

  • It is SPOOKY how much Laurie looks and sounds like Moss (IT Crowd) here. Or I suppose how much Moss looks and sounds like Laurie.

  • ahh piss!

  • I wish they'd make a bit more Fry and Laurie.

  • I work in Preston and they talk like Fry does here!

  • Laurie on the left slightly looks and sounds exactly like Moss! And moss was also on a gameshow(-ish) on the show IT Crowd. Not only that, they're both UK shows. Coincidence?

  • @Rotom5000 Actually, he sounds more like Moss near the end. And Stephen sounds like Roy kiiiiiiiinda. XD
