Read the original Declaration of Independence and its complaints and then look into the complaints of the Occupy movement and you will see many of the same complaints are in there for today as were there in the late 1700s. note when burning a book: open the pages and crumple them a little bit so to get some air between the pages. don't do it with the front and back hardcover in parallel, make sure they are at least in a 60 up to 90 degree angle so to get more oxygen flowing. it's pretty hard to burn a closed book

Dude, you can do more damage to Miller by selling his stuff to used book stores. Some kids are still going to read his stuff regardless of what you do, so you might as well take those royalties away from him. In addition, if there are any folks who want to check out MIller's work but don't want to shell out the money for them, check your local public library. Mine has a rather sizeable collection of his work. At any rate, I think the accusation that Miller is a fascist is probably correct.

Call me a horrible person, but part of me agrees with Frank Miller. I dislike what our government is doing as much as anyone else, but sitting in parks and blocking streets as part of a "movement" will have about as much effect as an ant pushing against a skyscraper. These idiots do nothing but get in the way, and they need to find a better way to protest, preferably one that doesn't annoy the people that are actually working at the time.

Actually there have been rapes during the OWS movements. In addition, the organizers distributed pamphlets telling people who are victims not to report it to the police. The rapists also felt safe enough to just stay after they committed the assault. You might want to do some research into this. It would've only taken you a few seconds on google to know about the rape. I'm not saying the whole movement is bad, but that pamphlet shit is bad.

The first amendment doesn't give you the right to camp out en masse wherever the hell you want for 40+ days. It doesn't give you the right to piss and shit on the ground, harass people on their way to work or purposely block the main roads during rush hour without a permit. I love how these people bleat on about their rights but couldn't give a rat's ass about impeding on other's rights.

The plan is to change our political structure so as to prevent the ruling elites from obtaining/exercising so much power. We need to reform our legislation to at least resemble moral philosophy: do away with land ownership, intellectual property, and usury. I think that alone would move us miles ahead, but I'd love to see us dissolve territory-states altogether and create direct democracies in our local governments without mandatory citizenship.

I think the problem with siding with government is OWS has shown us that there is no difference between Big Government and Big Business under our current system; the ruling elite comprise both institutions. Maybe that's not the way it has to be, but it's certainly the way it is: the financial institutions (i.e. Wall Street), the big corporations, and the politicians have all profited greatly from making us poor and jobless.

I also agree that it doesn't have to be this way...In fact, while Big Biz has always had a foothold in Politics, it's gotten much, much worse, especially recently with the deregulation of much of the infrastructure that kept them in place...Mostly (but not wholly) due to actions by the Republicans. Our Gov CAN work if people are educated enough to use it....We should use the institutions we already have in place, rather than tearing them down.

Frank Miller is a talented artist but talent is no guarantee of ethical insight or intelligence, i.e., wisdom. We have a pantheon of gifted people through history who could draw, paint, write and so forth, but who had gerbil sized brains and all the ethics of a cockroach.
