  • ROMNEY 2012

  • Ok Joe, so according to you gov't should throw endless amts of money at the problem until we're all broke and everyone's fucked.

It was you Democrats under Clinton-Gore who promoted this home ownership initiative for minorities, regardless of whether they could afford a house. Banks were pressured to make loans they wouldn't normally make, and it broke the system and highly inconvenienced everybody.

  • @bherber You can't possibly be this ignorant.

  • @IbeJigsaw You can't claim someone to be ignorant without backing it up with a statement of your own. I'm waiting...

  • @IbeJigsaw Still waiting for you to back up your statement...

  • @bherber You're just a perfect example of the problems with American democracy and patriotism. This should never be REPUBLICAN or DEMOCRAT, it should be WHOEVER IS RIGHT FOR THE JOB. Your claims are absolutely ridiculous. You're essentially blaming a government for decision made by the banks by way of competitive advantage, not political pressure. This is the fault of the banks, and the American's who were stupid enough to take on too good to be true mortgages.

  • @IbeJigsaw Ok I definitely agree that it is the fault of the people who were stupid enough to take on those mortgages; however, I can't agree on the banks. Why on earth would a bank make such a risky loan? They most definitely were pressured, and if you research it, I'm sure you find confirmation of that without too much difficulty. And sure, I'll agree that's it's whoever is right for the job.

  • @bherber You appear to be right in that they were pressured, however it was progressive through multiple presidential terms. However, I don't understand why banks such as those in Canada are entirely independent, and have opposed government propositions. I think government needs to stop promoting the idealistic "American Dream" and begin promoting a real, healthy government and society.

  • @IbeJigsaw I wish I had an electronic link to a great Wall Street Journal article I read on Canada and how they reformed spending and entitlements in 1992. I believe the country had lost its AAA rating and then worked hard to regain it starting with that 1992 administration. It seems to be a perfect model for us to follow. Canada and Australia are in excellent shape.

  • @bherber This is true, I'm relatively familiar with Canada's downgrade. America certainly needs to follow suit. This isn't a hopeless situation, but a very patient one. No one Presidency will change things in a single term, but the wheels need to be set in motion. Though I was an Obama supporter, I'm not convinced we've even started in the right direction. On the other hand, I'm not convinced that the other potential candidates for 2012 have a solid plan.

  • "Look" (condescending liberal tone), "What [YOU] don't understand, Vice President Moron, is that it was government the manufactured and created the bubble that caused those millions of people to lie in their beds, stare at the ceiling, and wonder if they're going to have a home." No better quote can explain this housing crash than "In this present crisis, government is not the solution, government is the problem."

  • biden is a fine guy

  • @erniehudson1

He also thinks Obama was elected although he was black because he was "well-spoken, clean, and articulate"... you know, for a black guy.

Look up his many, many gaffes. He's an idiot.

  • @Tezcatlepocatl I think anyway people are too high sensitive if it comes to Obama and his skin colour. I remember Bush was saying that Obama is articulate and then people accused him being racist since he sounds surprised that a black guy can speak - what bullshit! If one says Obama is articulate, it is a compliment - full stop! Biden probably said the same and later people added this black guy controversy to it.

  • @erniehudson1

I'd like to believe that, but both Bush and Biden have shown themselves to be complete morons on enough occasions that I suspect they meant it in the way most people have thought they did. Biden more so than Bush.

  • @Tezcatlepocatl He is by no means an idiot. He's a very intelligent, kind, and caring man. I've met him. He just can't keep his mouth shut. That's why he doesn't get to do interviews like this very often.

  • @tylerwarren

It's one thing to not know how to keep your mouth shut. It's quite another to spew debunked laughable lies, idiotic nonsense, or insensitive comments almost every time you open it. Biden and Dubya are both victims of the latter condition.

  • @Tezcatlepocatl Well sure, that statement is a gaffe, but true nevertheless (the articulate & well-spoken part, forget "clean").

  • @bherber Well-spoken yes, articulate, no.Look up videos of Obama speaking without a teleprompter. It's embarrassing, to say the least. The only presidents in recent memory who have been good speakers are Reagan and Clinton. The rest have been stuttering idiots when they didn't have their notes/teleprompter.

  • @Tezcatlepocatl Ok, you got me there. But I was getting more at the fact that the statement was essentially true and it upset the black community. And unfortunately when you give them a hard cold dose of reality, they don't want to hear it. The public school system is an example. Any input by a white person on suggestions for improvment, and they are told to shut up. So we let them lead their own community and just keep throwing money at them which continues to be wasted

  • Dear friends,

Ooh-wee-ooh, Wall steel Money Do Not Mater Tonight..

The Government do not understand us Tonight!

Vice Pres. Keep It Short and Simple Tonight..

  • Well, I guess now we know that the Dems never learned that it is better to peel off the band aid quickly rather than slowly.

  • makes me regret not buying a house waaaaay out of my price range......nah, not really I have morals and a brain

  • What's with Ryan's voice? :S

  • i like him.

  • whoa whoa whoa.....a video store clerk takes out a $600,000 mortgage he clearly can't afford and he (surprise) can't afford his payments after his rate adjusts and we are supposed to pick up the tab because of his ignorance. Sorry, Joe, but when you're talking about the government giving these idiots a leg up, you're using my money. And so we all have to suffer the property decrease in value while using our money to keep people in homes they can't afford. You're a bald disgrace.
