@BeBoBli If you switch between aiming up and down while running, Samus speed will be increasing. When you do it on console it's too hard to time it so you can skip using the mockball there, but a TAS can do it just fine.

He then corrupted the save file, not a save state, in order to do yet another glitch.

@sygnus5 Rooms actually have a standardized size, so he needs to X-ray glitch up a height equal to the tallest possible room, not just the current room, in order to loop over the top onto the bottom and touch the bottom of the elevator. The SRAM glitchery allows him to put some garbage data in the door data for the boss room, allowing him to find a door to the escape sequence above the ceiling. He avoids that early mockball by arm-pumping, which lets you run slightly faster.

If you check the obsolete video's comments, it may explain some methods consistent between the two videos, if it was new in that video. Unfortunately, for more in-depth descriptions like exactly HOW the save/load glitch works, you might need to dig around in the forums.

I really love that first X-ray scope trick, but how did he do the second one to skip the Metroid cutscene? also, the Motherbrain skip. My guess for that one is that once you enter the corridor for the Motherbrain fight the game locks your next screen transition to be the first escape corridor room (am I close?).

Any TAS run with %any glitches will always be mad in the head, no matter what game it is, this is a %any run, exspect similar runs to look the same if they are %any

For those that dont know

Saving twice is to undo the glitching, as if he used the one save and did the rave party glitch again it would cuase the game to not know anything about the whereabouts of the player resulting in game crash

And as zelda put it he had to bypass the inbetween room, so it would only make sense to create a second save where he can both bypass that room and reset the game data so he could rave on the second time around

The death is done, from my understanding, to trigger a certain glitch.

@abomasnow4 You know how some tiles in Tourian are glitched up (specifically, the doors)? Apparently that glitch makes it impossible to do the Mother Brain skip. And apparently being in the room where the death occurs will cause different tiles to be glitched up, but an in-between room will prevent this from happening, so the only choice was to die and bypass the in-between room.

(I hope this makes sense-- I'm not sure if I really understand it myself.)
