You should have gotten the A230 with one lens, and gotten some Minolta AF Mount lenses. The standard lenses are not that sharp. Don't worry about buying Minolta AF lenses. Sony's camera division ate Minolta's. Not to mention, they are also superb.

@weinerschnitzelboy If other options were available then yes, i would go for minolta lenses. But i Live in a small city and there is no choice available.

btw I bought the Nikon D7000 with kit 18-105 and a 50 f1.4

The A230 was my first DSLR that i own, my first DSLR is an Nikon D40 and Cannon Rebel but only held a rebel never shot it, I did enjoy thE Nikon alot so much fun but the Sony which i own i totally loev i do love that orange and black also very light and small its a total plus

The 55-200 turns out to be a ridiculously good lens. Shame to call it a kit lens. It's lens, period. Doesn't deserve the "kit" stigma at all.

I dare anyone to show me a sharper lens at any length for under $300 (except for a 50mm prime).

Hello nice review. I have a couple of questions : Are those the same lenses that come with the new Slt a55 duble zoom kit? And second , can you use the lens hood from the 55-200 lens on the 18-55 lens ?

@TheRapper2100 Yes they are the same lenses, I tried the same too but it doesn't work, plus having a circular lens hood on a standard zoom means a lot of vignetting especially at the 18mm (28 equivalent) wide angle, so i wont recommend using it.

If you ask me, get a 18-55 and a 35mm f1.8 lens, that's a better combition

Nice unboxing! I really like the way you re presenting the different parts. I have the A200 since it was release in 2008 and it still working perfectly !
