Can someone help me understand what the whole deal is with them losing a ball, or something like that? I can't quite understand how that could have happened, or why they took care to rack the balls in a certain order afterward.
i used to play pool, snooker, and billiards in l.a. in the 60's and 70's. there were some great local pool artists: rags woods, pancho, marvin henderson, peter cousins, ronnie, little ritchie florence, sandy kay, al gold, and baby huey. we had some really good matches. any of those characters still around? anyone heard of them?
if i were balsis, i would have to be thinking this is some kind of bullcrap. i mean, the guy has a dead ball in every rack, that's how he's broken up the balls this whole time.
it was wired.....these straight pool players were classic showmen. He knew it was wired a long time before he shot it - but the longer he takes to shoot, the more the audience is convinced it's a hard shot - so is the announcer in this case ;)
What a beautiful game to watch...just a gorgeous sport. The artistry is amazing...the way the ball skids off english, the break shot, the rythem of the chalking...all of it...so cool. Thanks for posting this!

@stevesp101 Right. He doesnt like it but things happen that way. It's called getting the rolls. It's okay because you like it when you get them.

stevesp101 Balsis had to run a50 and out to get to this match, so he was probably thinking, "so the tables have turned."

Thanks for posting this, man. It's fantastic. So much better than 9-ball.

amen. that combo 8 in the corner, amazing. 9 ball is a snooze and it's killing the game. This is the real game.
