We finally gained some confidence and stood up for our selves. Every time some one would start shit with us, we would threaten to beat the shit out of em. It Worked. Now I'm happy with my friends and girlfriend.

I was bullied when I was in Middle School and no matter what I did rather it would be ignoring them, avoiding them, sicking up to them, nothing worked. I could find what ever exploit their weakness they have and it still wouldn't make a difference.

Most effective way is if you encounter a bully, give them a beating they will never forget, make them bleed a bit and they will leave you alone, most bullies are disgusting little cowards.

If a student is being bullied over the edge, then they should talk with the counselor, dean or principle and transfer to another school. However, if that doesn't work out, then the student can have the bully suspended. Being bullied is not an option. As soon as teachers are informed of a bully, they are required to keep an eye on these bullies.
My friend was getting picked on and she knew that the boys mom left one day and so he picked on her and she said: "Well at least I have a family." he never picked on her again.
I overcame 2 instances with bullies beautifully by simply talking it out. crazy right? all i did was tell them how disrespectful it was and how i didn't deserve to be treated that way and how they too would hate it. They, however, were the friend type bullies and not the straight up enemy kind.

I had bullying issues up until middle school where I basically said that if I got messed with again, regardless of who it is, regardless of how strong they are, I will not put up with it and I will fight them after school OFF SCHOOL PROPERTY (if you're even a few blocks away from the school the school board can't punish you or them)
I got my ass kicked every time for about a month, but I didn't give up, and I was getting some good swings in so they stopped messing with me because they didn't like getting hurt, this is not a good idea in highschool especially in a big city highschool because of gangs and the potential for them to pull a weapon on you.
Basically you have to stand up for yourself, and yes that will mean getting beat up, but it's either dealing with getting beat up and fighting back for a week or two or three or deal with bullying for the rest of the school year or longer. Plus if you can actually fight somewhat you might gain some respect :)
and you should have at least one other person on your side that comes to the fight encase the bully didn't come alone. If you're up for it, starting this in 4th or 5th grade will keep the damage to the minimum because even the toughest 9 year old bully won't want to fight nor know how to.
unless your mom or dad are extremely against violence, getting grounded for defending yourself and your honor will be more then worth it in the long-run.
Exactly. Two years ago (14) this girl was being a total bitch to me all the fucking time. One day I turned 'round to her and gave her what for, not in an uncontrollable hysterical way, that's what they want. She hasn't talked to me since unless it's some polite thing in the classroom. Her "friends" are all warned off me now too. You have to stand up for youself. Ignoring doesn't work. But as Greg said, it has to be in a way that makes them want to stay away from you without hurting yourself.

think about it: it's way way way harder for bullies to target a person in a school 4 times as large, and plus in highshool, classes and lunches often mix up different grades together. this makes it harder for bullies to target predators, and harder to get people to gang up on bullies because mature people from grades higher up would stand up for the victems.

Or, and this is a very good option, realize that a bat (wooden, aluminum, steel, those plastic ones with the sound effects that are extremely hard) can hurt anyone, including some jackass that seems to believe it is ok to harass someone smaller, younger, or weaker than them, and you give him/her one swift hit to the knee. I bet money that he will stop messing you with. However, this plan does include probation and possible jail time, but he will leave you alone.
In the state of Arizona bullying is illegal so if u live in az just tell them it's illegal that will stop it 4 sure. But sometimes you need proof from the internet.
Nope, you punch them in the face and tell them if they ever pick on you again you'll break their fucking neck. I wait until they do something that I can use against them. I was bullied in high school and one day one of the bullies snatched my backpack in front of some of my friends. He took it and threw it in the backseat of his friend's car and dove off. I got my backpack about an hour later and made a small show of looking to make sure nothing was missing. Nothing was, but I pretended the money I had gotten from my Ma was not in there. The principal made him pay double the money to me for his actions.

When I was in middle school I had a lot of trouble with "bullies" (who didn't?), & as hard as it was in the beginning, I just stopped responding to their taunts. After a while, they got bored. I don't know if they found new prey (they probably did), but they finally left me alone. So not only does ignoring bullies save your energy, but it takes one of the bully's sources of amusement away.

they teased me EVERYDAY for 4 years about being fat and ugly, threatened to bash me, made fun of my mum dying dad being antisocial and having a shit house. and i did NOTHING to them. good thing ive changed now, ive lost weight and matured, they are still bullies that need to grow the fuck up, i got loads of supportive friends that wont like them :P

I had bullying issues up until middle school where I basically said that if I got messed with again, regardless of who it is, regardless of how strong they are, I will not put up with it and I will fight them after school OFF SCHOOL PROPERTY (if you're even a few blocks away from the school the school board can't punish you or them)

I got my ass kicked every time for about a month, but I didn't give up, and I was getting some good swings in so they stopped messing with me because they didn't like getting hurt, this is not a good idea in highschool especially in a big city highschool because of gangs and the potential for them to pull a weapon on you.

Basically you have to stand up for yourself, and yes that will mean getting beat up, but it's either dealing with getting beat up and fighting back for a week or two or three or deal with bullying for the rest of the school year or longer. Plus if you can actually fight somewhat you might gain some respect :)

and you should have at least one other person on your side that comes to the fight encase the bully didn't come alone. If you're up for it, starting this in 4th or 5th grade will keep the damage to the minimum because even the toughest 9 year old bully won't want to fight nor know how to.

Exactly. Two years ago (14) this girl was being a total bitch to me all the fucking time. One day I turned 'round to her and gave her what for, not in an uncontrollable hysterical way, that's what they want. She hasn't talked to me since unless it's some polite thing in the classroom. Her "friends" are all warned off me now too. You have to stand up for youself. Ignoring doesn't work. But as Greg said, it has to be in a way that makes them want to stay away from you without hurting yourself.

think about it: it's way way way harder for bullies to target a person in a school 4 times as large, and plus in highshool, classes and lunches often mix up different grades together. this makes it harder for bullies to target predators, and harder to get people to gang up on bullies because mature people from grades higher up would stand up for the victems.

Or, and this is a very good option, realize that a bat (wooden, aluminum, steel, those plastic ones with the sound effects that are extremely hard) can hurt anyone, including some jackass that seems to believe it is ok to harass someone smaller, younger, or weaker than them, and you give him/her one swift hit to the knee. I bet money that he will stop messing you with. However, this plan does include probation and possible jail time, but he will leave you alone.

Nope, you punch them in the face and tell them if they ever pick on you again you'll break their fucking neck. Sometimes violence is nessasary and if you're sick of a bully kicking your ass then you need to hit him back ten times harder, it doesn't matter if you 'beat him up' or not, but the fact that you're more than up for a fight shows that you're not scared, and they'll back off.

I wait until they do something that I can use against them. I was bullied in high school and one day one of the bullies snatched my backpack in front of some of my friends. He took it and threw it in the backseat of his friend's car and dove off. I got my backpack about an hour later and made a small show of looking to make sure nothing was missing. Nothing was, but I pretended the money I had gotten from my Ma was not in there. The principal made him pay double the money to me for his actions.

Greg: I actually agree with you on this one. When I was in middle school I had a lot of trouble with "bullies" (who didn't?), & as hard as it was in the beginning, I just stopped responding to their taunts. After a while, they got bored. I don't know if they found new prey (they probably did), but they finally left me alone. So not only does ignoring bullies save your energy, but it takes one of the bully's sources of amusement away.
