You can pretty much shoot anything the game labels as junk. Projectile damage is based on weight, so super-heavy items such as the fission battery or steam gauge assembly are devastating.

find the underworld which is really close to rivet city its a city for ghouls in side of the old history museum if you find ghoul traverlers ask them about it and it should be addded as a new marker on your map
