Another musical "jewel" by Renaissance with Annie, above the 1st instrumental section, which is delightful and full of colours, by covering the whole spectrum!
I saw this band in 1973 at the gardens of Windsor Castle, England they were tottaly amazing, Anny's voice took me to heaven. after them Arthur Brown played Galactic Zoo Dossier and it was like hell. What a contrast, it was a mess, the cops had to come in and the concert was ended.
I saw Renaissance in Liverpool in 1979 and stood maybe 2m from Annie, she smiled at me as my hair style was very like hers at the time, my boyfriend was in raptures as was I. This brings back many happy memories for me thank you for posting this.
@scousesusan I was at the gig too, cannot remember if it was the Empire or the Royal Court but that does not matter, one of the best concerts I ever experienced, Renaissance was an amazing band.
@gofnas3 Yes the full orchestral ending ("we fall while aiming so high") with Terrence Sullivan crashing and thundering like the Apocalypse. Like Ringo Starr and John Bonham he rides just behind the beat to make the effect thicker and heavier.
I was there that night in the first couple rows, Thanksgiving night I believe. Ripley's was a small place, just a a bar really, couldn't have held more than a hundred or so people.
I got to go backstage after and meet them, tried to get a kiss from Annie, I remember she only let me kiss her cheek
She's about 5 foot tall, had to bend way down. Jon Camp's a short guy too.
This show was broadcast live on WIOQ radio during the Ed Sciaky days...
Yes diggerHR and trwx, this was one of the few groups that can be said to put the music into new dimensions! And I hope that sometime One could collect a musical DVD put together by some person of BBC related or so. That would be grateful and needed for us musical "superfans"! Waiting for that!
This video and the one for Mother Russia are great, do you have any more? I love Renaissance and it would be great to see more clips like this on youtube.
yesrushdt- thank you wso much for these two newest additions. There was nothing like Annie or the group before or after. These are cherished memories.
This was used as a news theme for WYOU 22 Scranton in the early 80s.

@scousesusan I envy you having the opportunity to see the band live in their heyday. I was just a little kid back then. :)

It's a fantastic song. Before seeing this video, I never realized, how much this song lies on the bass.
