I was going to ask how you mic'ed these videos, the fact that you simply used the camera mic says wonders about this fine instrument. Can't wait to get one! :-)
One day I will be able to afford one of these. These guitars are an inspiration to me. I was completely baffled and still am to this day at how beautiful the tone production is... and how beautiful these guitars are to look at. I can only imagine how they play.... Thank you Daniel.
I wish I could make it worth your while to fill a 74 minute CD with a bunch of tunes like this and Whiskey Before Breakfast. Alas, all I can offer to do is buy a copy and recommend it to all my friends :)
Very nice work, I really love the sound of your singing weissenborn. I think that one day I will order one. For this moment I got an old Oahu and a gorgeous Tony Francis Weissenborn. But one of yours will be mine one day I hope.
I am amazed at Daniel Brauchli's history, musical performance and craftsmanship! I can't wait to get my hands on one of his hollowneck lap guitars. I'll bring it to the stage in Chico as soon as I can. Thanks for a beautiful video, David.
My standard tuning is DADF#AD but I think the guitar is tuned to D# because I had been recording to a track in that key. The strings are GHS True Medium which I get from Stewmac or Elderly Instruments. Jeff Lang uses the same strings tuned up to E.

The main melody is very staightforward in this tuning DADF#AD, but I don't keep track of what the other fingers are doing.

That's a glorious sound...
Is that guitar the same as Daddystovepipe's? ( cedar top? )
He sure makes his sing!
I'd sure like to hear that one and a floating bridge one in the same vid for comparison...
( In fact I'd just like to hear & see more of your guitars thank you very much! hehe! )
Beautiful!
That tune you play rolls along sweetly.
Thanks for posting.

Yep, this one is like the one I have - blackwood sides and cedar top with fixed bridge.
