I have this camera, it takes great pictures and great quality video. I love canon and nikon, but I would definitely recommend this sony to anybody. the zoom noise isnt bad especially if your going to be editing your video, you can bring the volume down or take the audio track off completely and add music or whatnot. Great Point and shoot camera.
Yes mine is really bad . I think it may be damaged from the factory . Often gives blurry images and if you rise the iso to iso 200 you will get a lot of noise . But i think it`s something wrong whit mine since many other people are very happy whit their H20 s
@b1naryd1g1t5 TRUE!!! the fact that it will zoom when taking a video is just great!... I got mine already, great camera... and for some reason I'm not getting any error because of the memory stick ... even though it is not a "mark 2" memory stick. ;D
very good camera. i own it as well, and its ideal for starters who wanna get into photography. then again, the simple mode is just right, even my granny can use it. love it
It's rated at 290 shots. From my experience, that seems about right. Video will drain it a little faster, but one should be able to fill up most 8GB cards with video before the battery dies.
You can find them anywhere SD cards are sold. if you are in a retail store, usually they are right there beside the regular SD cards. They are called "Memory Stick Pro Duo." Mine is a Sandisk brand.
I believe it's 30 minutes at a time. So if you need to record for an extended period of time, you will have to stop it every 30 minutes and restart. Not a big deal, especially since you can splice clips together easily with a video editor. The highest HD setting is 720p "Fine" which allow a little over an hour of video recording on a 4GB card and about 2.5 hours on an 8GB card.
this camera only shoot at 720p? or it goes to 1080p to?

@0ivo0
It only goes up to 720p (and of course it does 480p too).

I wanted to buy the H20,however i found the w270 in a ridiculous price,so i bought it as fast as i could,before the shop run out of stock.
I can't zoom while i'm recording,so i don't have the zoom noise problem,but i have the focus noise problem,ahahahaha!!!!

I'm buying this camera today... unfortunately the zoom noise is loud enough to mess with the video... :(

@aruekca18det
Yeah that's true, but you will be hard pressed to find a camera in this range that doesn't make noise when zooming.

They all make noise when I tested them at the camera shop. I bought H20 and I'm happy with it.

@aruekca18det while zooming in video the zooming is slow so it makes less noise/

Kdenlive, which is a Linux program. You can do the same things with Windows Movie Maker or Sony's "Vegas."

@b1naryd1g1t5 ok thank you. i just bought one and a 8gb SD card so i shopuld be good.

I hope you didn't order an SD card! It takes Sony's Memory Stick Pro Duo. I wish Sony would do away with their proprietary memory stick.

I am using the Sony MemoryStick Pro Duo that is 8 GB in size.
b1naryd1g1t5 2 years ago
does using a big space memory stick make camera's performance slow like 16 or 32 gb
